      I won't buy a spyderco. I can in no way justify the $$

    • @janjimpson240
      @janjimpson240 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only time I can justify it is if they're released on spydercos website and I get the half off military discount from MSRP. Then it feels like an ok price😂. But few of the spydercos I like are ever there and I feel for those who can't get them discounted down to a semi reasonable price

    I love my old Old Timer. I am glad they updated it. I have quite a few knives for camp, EDC, and as I call it "utility"
    I use my Old Timer as "when need a knife" situation. I have a Kershaw for cutting tape/boxes. My true EDC is a 943 Benchmade and camp knife is that and a Barrage.

    George S. Patton Jr. died in a car accident on December 21, 1945. The first tank to be named after him, the M46 Patton was designed 1948-1949.

  • @lawrencehubbard2985

    The Medford 48 is not for M4 Sherman tank but M48 Patton tank (a line of tanks going from M46, M47, M48 and M60 with all kind of different models all referred to Patton). The four star’s are correct about his rank. He was referred to General George S Patton Jr. but was actually the III his son was the VI and commanded some of the same units that his father did raising to rank two star General before retiring.

    Hi DCA,
    I'm wondering about sharpening on stones, hones etc. - or more specifically - when to use which device for which steels. For instance, I heard that a metal honing rod doesn't work well with higher HRC ratings, or that "super steels" like M390, Maxamet (and other vanadium carbide rich steels) need a diamond stone, because ceramic stones are too soft. And let's not forget with which compound to strop...
    I think that would warrant some explaining, even more so considering there's conflicting info online.
    Thanks.

      It may be a meme, but I use my Spyderco Paramilitary 2 in the old S30VN almost every day on the farm in grit, mud, hoof work and hay dust and it has been phenomenal. Phosphor bronze washers instead of bearings so it doesn't bind up, and the hole in the blade makes it easy to pop out with gloves (even my winter Rancher gloves). And the compression lock is easy to move around and the full flat grind slices like nothing else.
