These memories and scenes haunt you whenever u see them at that time nobody even knew what a earthquake is the whole wall collapsed in front of me till next 10 to 15 days nobody went in their homes we used to stay in tents making the food together how terrible those days were. And whenever 26th Jan comes there is always a slight fear in everyone's mind
My family is also a survivor from Bhuj. My dad was in the air force and when the earthquake happened my mom was 7 months pregnant with me and my elder brother was 4 years old. We all survived. We're extremely blessed. Extremely lucky. It's been 19 years now and still it shakes me to the core whenever I listen about that day.

Seriously she said - “Cut off my hand but I don’t wanna die” How much pain she had in her heart and I was happy that no one of her family died because you all were fighters, 7.9 was the measurement on Richter scale! The M5.1 earthquake you felt was actually a very late aftershock from the 2001 M7.7 quake, aftershocks can last for many years as this was an ‘intraplate’ earthquake, the same kind earthquakes we have even here in England, thankfully the big ones are rare though compared to our more active plate boundary counterparts! 😯✌🏻

As soon as i removed the socks i felt aftershocks of earthquake and then it started to continue and outside chaos were started of people screaming of earthquake and we all came out of the building and my daddy calmly sitting in hall where he kept radio and television on the floor from the table and he was also sitting down to the corner side
It was quite a strange event I acquired my Brahmastra Nausantara IndraShakti around this time. Forces of natural came alive. Unfortunately their were no accelerometers(devices that measure pga) in epicentral region. Closest accelerometer was in Ahmedabad and it recorded pga of 0.11g. considering that it was surpring that 80+ multi story Rc buildings collaped in Ahmedabad. All of the collapses therefore must be blamed on bad designing and poor construction practices rather than shaking Intensity
