I disagree with the “media’s responsibility” line. Why not let people watch and decide for themselves? Why do we need the media giving us their spin on what we just saw? I feel like a lot of the problems we have in terms of division is because we believe whatever media we watch instead of depending on our own eyes and ears at the original source.

And when the media starts saying things like “Candidate A lied 36 times” people think, whatever, it just becomes meaningless. Kind of like the boy crying wolf. Same thing with “threat to Democracy”, existential threat”, etc. It’s so nebulous and abstract and sounds hysterical. Both sides do it and all I want to know is who has the best plan to bring down grocery prices and who is going to take bad guys off the street (and keep them off) so I can get groceries without getting robbed or un-alived in the parking lot.
