Fitz

Putting the feelers out for a suitable home for Fitz. He is a lovely 6 year old, 16.2h chap by Califet, who last ran on the 8th of June. He has run over hurdles and in 3 P2P before retiring and coming to me for some work before finding his next career.
We'll go with the bad points first because if you're still reading at the end, then you might just be the right person for this lovely lad.
Fitz is gentleman in every sense of the word on the ground. However when unsure of things under saddle, he has a real nappy streak. This is however, totally rideable and improving every day. He does not, buck, bolt, or rear. He does however have the ability to do a swift 180 and throw in some sideways moves before resuming his normal work! We have been doing lots of long reining, ground work, solo hacking and schooling on his own to get him going independently. He is progressing every day, but for obvious reasons will need an experienced home.
His flatwork is fantastic for a horse so recently out of training. He has natural movement and huge powerful canter. He will hack solo quite happily, and we're yet to see a 180 out hacking on his own. He is a fantastic hack in company and has been to the beach in company, where he mostly behaved himself beautifully. He has a fantastic jump, and has the potential to be a great team chaser or hunt horse where I don't think napping would ever be an issue.
With the right person, he would also make a fantastic dressage horse or riding club type. He would need further work in this department before he was ready to be out competing.
