I liked your video and decided to paint my own pots. I bought the sealer you recommended. The label indicated it was combustible, toxic and carcinogenic. I did use it on a couple pots. I wore gloves. It had a very strong odor. I decided to discard it even though it was kind of expensive.

I watched a TH-cam video about 4 yrs ago and sealed and painted pots . They still look good ! Save money by using left over paints from your walls or leftover paint samples.

Hi if using the rust oleum spray sealer instead of the 511 one you showed here, how would that change the process? The rust oleum looks like it’s a finishing spray? Would I still use it before painting? Thank you in advance!
Im used them both on different pots and it looks like they working the same. And the presses i do is the same with the spray one. First sealing then painting and then seal again

Yes you can If you nit using a sealer before painting

Hey! One of the two sealers applied before painting and the lacquer after painting
If you put these designs and patterns on an oversized sweater or tshirt - I WOULD WEAR IT.

Hi! I’m an eco therapist about to host a pot-painting class in conjunction with a wine &wax one. I’m using the small 2-3” pots and 20 of them. I want to seal the inside and outside before the class. I don’t think we have time to apply a sealant over the paint unless you can suggest something fast-drying. Ideally I’d like to spray paint them in the prep with something quick and easy and we will be potting them. I see all the suggestions in the comments and listed in the description, but so many! What would you use in this situation? Thanks
The best is to seal the pots a few days before and then paint over them. Usually, the sealer needs 24 hours to dry

But I won't put them in the rain just in case..
I am having problems with streaking lines/ thin colors. I have to redo it over and over to get solid color. Is that what you use acrylic medium for? Your color goes over the blue so well. Mine does not! What am I doing wrong?

If I just seal the inside of the pot with sealant would it prevent air bubbles between paint and ceramic? or is also doing the outside necessary?

What type of colors you have used to paint these pots ???
I used acrylic paints
After sealing it 3 times with sealer, then painting a base white coat on twice... I find the paint is chipping. Do you know why this happens?
I'm not sure way it's happening, maybe try using a different white color

If you paint inside and out it may work as a sealer. But I'm not sure.. i didn't tried it before..

I don't think the primer will make the best work with waterproofing the pot

Do you have to sand down the pot? I'm getting a terracotta decoration that if I sanded it down it'll lose its detail
You could sand it down, but you don't have to. I'm personally not doing this

What will happen if I didn't get to place a coating inside and outside the pot before painting?
You probably will get air bubbles between the outside of the pot and the paint

😆 its ok! You can pop them with a tiny pin. But also you still can seal the inside of the pot at least. Maybe it will help

Any acrylic paint will work. Im using different brands, just depends on the color they have
I always paint my pots without any sealer
From my experience, if i don't use a sealer, the paint will be ruined faster

This is water based paint or oil based paint?..I asked since you are sealing the pot to start with...that totally beats the point of using a terracota pot for plants...
I'm using acrylic paint, and yes as soon as you seal the pots they can't "breathe" anymore.
If you won't seal them you will have bubbles all over your painting and it will ruin it
@@oioioi_Studio I am facing the same problem...but if we seal them waterproof then the soil doesn't absorb water vapour anymore and it becomes a very heavy plastic pot for plants😔..I am using mutiple coats hoping that the bubles formed doesn't burst and then during the summer months it goes back to being the same...not a perm fix but will keep you updated about the longivity!
