  • Da Nang, Vietnam is one of the most popular destinations because of the low cost of living and beautiful nature.
But is it really the BEST place to live in South East Asia?

Thanks for sharing. I often hear that digital nomads have difficulty connecting with others, and that seems more evident the more videos I watch. At the same time, I feel most people have difficulty finding that connection regardless of their life situation. The best we can do is put ourselves out there and hope for the best.

I have lived in Thailand for the last 8 years near the beach and just spent 6 weeks in Vietnam especially Da nang. Thai food, especially the street food is so overrated. The food in Da Nang and Hoi An was on a whole another level. I understand about the seasons and times you do not want to be living on the coast of Vietnam but as far as a two month vacation spot to get out of Thailand and enjoy much better accommodations and food, I will be back there for many years to come. Thanks

Community: Thailand and Bali are more popular when it comes to tourism and expat living. So they will have larger communities. I only flew into Da Nang on my way to Hoi An. The food is definitely 5/5 100% all three places we visited (Hanoi, Hoi An, and HCMC (Saigon). I really, didn't see cockroaches, what we saw were huge rats in the parks and in the squares, just playing around and forging for food. And I hate rats. However, it's still one of my favorite countries to visit and even stay for an extended time. I give Vietnam and my experience a 9 out of 10.

The living cost is up up and up everywhere now, not just Danang, or Vietnam. In all of the cities in Vietnam, Danang I think still one of the great destination. Few things I don't like about Danang, as a Vietnamese: 1. weather (too hot even for me), 2. food (except for the seafoods, Danang's cuisine is just average comparing to Vietnamese cuisine).
Good luck, good health and prosperity ^_^

@@DianHuang @cuongdo9958 Dian, Cuong is not wrong, DaNang food is just average. However, central region food is great, such as "Bun Bo Hue". Da Nang is central region as well, so its specialties are "Mi Quang", "Banh Xeo" among other dishes. "Pho" originated from the North, but now we have "pho Bac" & "pho Nam". "Com Tam" & "Banh mi" are southern. I've been all over VN, but I find that HCMC has the best Viet food in VN cuz it has all the food from all the regions (but only if u know where/how to find them). However, this will really pissed off some locals; I find the best Vietnamese food is in Orange County, USA (Little Saigon), much better ingredients and more sanitary, but pay 10x more. Oh, check out Da Lat for peace and quiet, and cool temp, not for partying though. (U r lucky u never got sick. I sometimes get the runs from eating street food, and I was born here, lol, I thought I would have some immunity)
