I think the two of you complement every others style so well. That's some of the best soloing I have heard from Jeff Loomis; where the technique and theory isn't overriding the heart and passion and the two mix to create the awesomeness that are those solos. Makes me want the CD from you guys band even more now.
You can download The Arrival, Awaken the Stone King and Retrospecial for free or donate via download to help support him (highly recommended). Demisery is a $9.99 purchase as well as Conquering Dystopia (TBA) on March 10th of this year (3 days from now). Lonestar Transcend is an album absent from his website to my knowledge but I'm sure asking anyone here for a download host would be no problem. Hope all that helped.
Jeff is one of the best. He has completely raised the bar!!! So much passion in those solos also you can hear guys shred solos out but they don't have the emotional content that Jeff can achieve.
Prrffff, awesome! Not only Jeff shreds like a beast, but also puts a lot of heart into his solos. I really like that he is not a runner and is constantly picking, but gives time for the solo to breathe
wow....for a while now i keep track of to most important metal dudes Loomis and Merrow ( for me )....love your work Keith here in Transylvania...and Jeff is a god for us specialy after his solo album....but this is just craaaaazzzzyyyyyyy...loomis solos on Keith crazy riffs...there is nothing better out there today....Hudge Respect and congrats '' Let The Metal Flow "
i just bought his album. I felt my heart slow down and cry during jeff loomis' solo. truly inspirational thank you so much for sharing such eargasm-ing music with us normal people... T.T
I just now found out about keiths music and This is some AMAZING stuff and god damn the solo jeff did in heart of the sea nymph was just one of his best. GREAT stuff man glad to have found this.
FINALLY Keith.... you have found a player who can match your skill....LOL. Dude, you are seriously one of the best composers/shredders I have ever heard. I know that probably doesnt mean much to you coming from a nameless lout, but your music means A LOT to me and A LOT to A LOT of people out there. You keep doing what you are doing and we will keep supporting you. God bless you brother.
I agree with Keith as well. It is obvious that they are kidding around and not trying to stroke ego's. The comment was dripping with enough sarcasm to flood out the room. @Keith thanks for sharing the clip as it is always awesome to see the creative process involved in creating such amazing music!
Oh damn, this is Jeff's place? It's not every day you get to take a glimpse into a celebrity's house. That, and the tracking is what makes this video so special :)
Right on, Keith. Two awesome talents coming together to record what sounds to be an EPIC new track. That's just too fucking cool. Keep up the excellent work! - Wulf
Wow all of those were good solos...*inspired* and this track sounds freakin heavy....can't wait. And really, i've been looking for solos on your stuff ;) and one of the kewlest solos i've heard is on "lo" hah
The album is out now! The badass song with Jeff is Heart of the Sea Nymph. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm about 90% sure that it's Heart of the Sea Nymph.
jeff loomis- one of the best metal and individual soloists keith merrow- one of the best metal and invidual rhythm guitarists -together the world will impload
never heard of keith merrow, but this stuff sounds great. Need to keep an eye out. Jeff's stuff on here definitely sounds different from the regular diminished sound. Really cool
wow you and jeff are amazing! your new album is gonna truly rock =)\m/ i'll bet you're high as a g6 right now lol. can't wait to hear what you two have in store for us on the new album, it's going to be the best yet.
@Seraphblood well that's part of the concept to get it clean so there isn't all that string noise. It's really a combo of left and right. But out of all the shredders out there Jeff has got the best tone. His kills Rusty's and pauls... and his stuff isn't just pure shred it still has got the amazing feel to it!
I had my guitar for quite some time that I call her Harmony. An Ibanez RG2EX2 and recently dropped a pair of DiMarzio's in her. I've had a 10 watt amp and not too long ago I got a free amp that's the best I got now unfortunately at 100 watts but it has a celestion 12'' speaker and don't need my distortion pedal for a cool metal or crunch tone. The fender mustang 3. I use to borrow my super metal head friend's amps. He had an awesome half stack a Hellraiser to compliment it. He for sure has...
@EnemyXofXreality666 Thanks man, ive ask people several times how their sweeping is with those EMGs and nobody ever gave me a clear response. Definitely going to go get me a pair now.
5-6 years of actually playing guitar. You could just tell from hearing him playing and watching in awe. He was the one who turned me more on to prog metal like Dream Theater, Opeth, Nevermore and Symphony X. He's a big fan of all and even got me into the more technical thrash ier songs of Megadeth and cooler songs of Death. I owe him practically a lot. If I played like him I would of put videos up of me. There's vids of him in HS doing Black Sabbath covers with some friends. The singer is ugh
1:13 "Don't feel bad, regular people can't play that" ..........
The name song is "Heart Of The Sea Nymph" on the album 'Awaken The Stone King' by Keith Merrow.

I think the two of you complement every others style so well. The beginning run of the second solo take at 1:23 is absolutely amazing
Amazing Jeff. Can't wait until we hang and jam again!
Jeff is one of the best. He has completely raised the bar!!! So much passion in those solos also you can hear guys shred solos out but they don't have the emotional content that Jeff can achieve.

i like the 3rd solo moody and melodic but still shreddy with that sic sweep section in the middle . loomis is the man !
i wish i could shred like that guy, so fast but so beautifull at the time, the guy knows how to do it and i admire his playing skills!!
I love his bending and vibrato!
FINALLY Keith.... you have found a player who can match your skill....LOL. Dude, you are seriously one of the best composers/shredders I have ever heard. @CCresante Guessing an Axe Fx. When I met Jeff he said he uses his Axe Fx in his home studio because it's to expensive to take on the road.
i like the feel of the last solo jeff

I wish i got to hang out with Jeff Loomis.
1:12 - Keith to Jeff: "Don't feel bad, regular people can't play that"!
Damn right, Sir! :|
I prefer the last one, to me it feels like it had the most feeling
It has feeling but it doesn't fit on the song.
Dayum son, you're going places! Jeff Loomis ftw!
THAT was the thing missing in your epic songs! Epic solos!
I´d go with the first one. Love the phrasing.
so beast
@chrisglory And so does Keith Merrow. And with Jeff Loomis he just straight up slays.
I downloaded the album, listen to it and i just love it it's all great. By the way how'd you meet let alone record with Jeff Loomis?!
Holy Shit... Awesome !CANT WAIT FOR IT
congrats, Keith! You can never again be humble about your music now that you got Jeff inviting you over @ his house to play a solo on your record.
@EutecHydra It's beautiful and I want to know what is so important outside that it can completely ignore Jeff Loomis being in the same room.
The cat was totally impressed with the ending portion of that first solo run, look at his reaction :)
I had my guitar for quite some time that I call her Harmony. An Ibanez RG2EX2 and recently dropped a pair of DiMarzio's in her.
