You are quite right. The first time I used it I pressed the pump straight down and the second time, I didnt and I fell that the less product still evenly coated my hair thus stretching the amount of product I have over time. So less is more!
Hi there. Thanks for watching and your question. I’m definitely an advocate of making sure you spread the mask out before you apply it - I would advise working in 1 pump at a time, then combing through…that way you’ll distribute it evenly. Does it have an impact on the masks efficacy if you don’t “emulsify”? No, not at all. It’s not bad advice and you totally can if you want…but you don’t have to.
Hi Craig, what are your thought on using the mask on virgin curly hair to preserve length retention? I’m trying to grow my hair long and want to protect my ends from wet detangling and styling.
Hi Dany. I’ve seen great great results on all virgin haired clients who are using the mask and are growing out their locks. The K18 peptide delivers strength into the Cortex (the main part of the hair) so it’s great for all textures and densities.
Can you recommend a conditioner to use with the new pH Prep MAINTENANCE Shampoo from K18? (I know the k18 treatment mask doesn't need a conditioner, but what about the maintenance shampoo?)
Hi Sadie, thanks for watching. If you’re using K18 Mask, please always shampoo only beforehand - the mask won’t penetrate and repair if you condition. For the wash days when you’re not using it, any of your favourite conditioners is compatible.
Hi Saba, thanks for watching. If you used the leave in mask/had both used in salon and never ever touched your hair again/shampooed/went outside etc etc you might not need to - the reality is that it isn’t permanent, you have to maintain it as your hair needs it. I would suggest using is consecutively for 5 shampoos, then maintain it - I can’t tell you how often to use it after that…the more you feel your hair needs it, the more you use it. When my hair is bleached I use it every shampoo, which is every other day….remembering that you really can’t apply it to often, it can’t do any harm.
Tried it for the first time but I am stumped . I liked it. Put it on towel dried hair waited ten minutes . I usually apply my creams and gels on sopping wet hair so I don’t know what to do . After the four minutes I put my products on my towel dried hair . Can I rewet my hair to very wet or am I rinsing out the k18? Help
Hi Kevin, thanks for watching. You totally can wet the hair down after the 4 minutes and apply your products. Once the time is up, the peptide is in the cortex of the hair and the repair is done.
Thanks for your upload 🙏🏼 😊 Just a quick question off-topic: Do you have any recommendations for silicone-free shampoos and conditioners? Particularly for rather dry and long hair?
@@Mylifemychoice786 It really depends what you want from the shampoo…? I like Pureology…the new pH Prep Maintenance Shampoo from K18 would be great if you’re going to invest in the Mask
Hi can I use it in a keratine hair before or after because I like to buy it but I'm of skeptical about it until I know how is going to work on keratine hair😄thanks
Hi Marie. Thanks for watching and for your question. If you’ve already had the Keratin treatment done, use the mask as per guidelines - the K18 peptide will help maintain your Keratin treatment for sure. If you’re a hair pro performing Keratin treatments on clients use either the mist/mask beforehand - for the mist (this is a pro use only product) follow instructions as for any chemical service. If you’re using the mask before, shampoo once, towel dry, apply the mask…wait 4 minutes…shampoo again, then Keratin.
@theworldofcraig I thought I saw one of your videos where you used the K18 mask prior to doing a gloss after highlighting. Do you wait the 4 minutes then gloss? Or do you wait the 4 minutes, rinse the hair, then gloss?
That’s right, I always apply the mask before toning…wait 4 minutes, (I generally tone on dry hair, so I’d dry off after that) then tone over the top. New K18 video coming on Tuesday…
@@theworldofcraig Thanks so much for the speedy reply! I just started using the K18. Been struggling trying to figure out how much extra to charge for this added service. I have the prep spray, molecular pre treat spray, & mask. What do you charge extra when using the molecular spray & mask? And what do you charge extra for all 3? I’m not opposed to a higher end up charge. I’ve currently been using Olaplex which I have incorporated into all my highlighting service pricing. I believe I can still use both Olaplex & K18. But think I’ll keep the K18 as an extra for compromised hair or hair I want to push further or for a client who wants ultra protection.
You’re most welcome. I price hourly, including all product. There are pricing charts on the K18 website if you sign up as a pro - you might enjoy the certification, then you’ll be registered on there as a K18 user. You’ll enjoy the video on Tuesday, I get into using both K18 and Olaplex and answer lots of user questions.
I am not a professional by any means. I bought the mist in sams club AMAZING for a stand alone treatment so I use the mist no conditioner of course and after the 4 minute I use the mask and omg my hair has no frizz I rough dried it and it was so soft.
You cannot register to purchase this as a pro for the pro duo kit in the uk.. on the website 😔… it has United Kingdom as country on there but it then asks you for your license number which we in the uk don’t have, and which state you got it in🤔 and if you cannot provide that info then you cannot get any further with the registration 🤷🏻♀️
I’m afraid I don’t know anything about that - the best thing to do would be to contact K18 U.K. directly - they are super helpful. Sorry I can’t be of more help.
I just got certified! 😊
Wahoo!
