    Great video! You covered all of the little details many people have questions about. I have been using K18 for a few months now and I really like it. I love how easy it is to use and I find it works better for me than Olaplex. I really wish they would sell the spray retail so we could use it as a stand alone at home.

    I had been using olaplex + k18 on my very bleach damaged hair. It was doing well. Since I still had some breakage, I assumed they weren’t working and I did an aphogee 2 step treatment. Huge mistake because my hair started literally crumbling to the touch. I lost like half my hair in one day as a result. I panicked and did a stand-alone olaplex 1-2-8 treatment which nothing. I then just shampooed with clarifying shampoo and used only k18, 4 mins later the breakage significantly reduced.
    I will only be using k18 now as my bond builder/repair/hair savior. I should never have done the aphogee treatment and I won’t be wasting money on olaplex anymore.
    It’ll take nearly a year to grow my hair back and my journey toward an even platinum continues but at least now I know for sure k18 works! I need me the professional product of the Sephora product worked so well!

      Hi! What a story..I can imagine how stressful it was to see so much of your hair breaking like that. I am so happy to hear that you have achieved such great results and repair from K18. Wishing you luck on your hair growth and platinum journey, keep us updated! If you can, bleach your hair in a salon that uses K18 so that you get the most out of the products and your hair doesn't suffer so much damage. Before going in for lightening, try to use the mask consecutively to strengthen your hair.

    Does it helps hair that has been dammaged partially by an old dye and lately? If yes how many times should i used it!

    Thank you so much for those precious informations ❤️

    • @EverythingHairBrand
      @EverythingHairBrand  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, yes it does. The mask is a treatment that repairs damage from bleach, color, and chemical services. The peptide should help add strength to your hair. In the video, we showed an example of how to use the mask as part of a lightening service but it is the same application process even without the highlights service- sorry for the confusion :)
      K18 recommends to use the mask for 4-6 washes at home and then as needed for a boost of strength, softness, smoothness, and bounce.

    Great video!
    I have been in discussions with K18 and Olaplex and apparently you can use both products at the same time for either a Stand-Alone Treatment or in a Chemical service.
    K18 do recommend to use the mist before Olaplex, however I am not sure how accurate this is as I have heard that Olaplex’s molecule is smaller, but from what I can see, I believe using the K18 Mist, followed by No.1 & No.2, wash thoroughly, towel-dry, and apply the K18 mask is what I am personally going to be doing.
    If you have any thoughts and opinions about this, please feel free to respond 😊

    • @EverythingHairBrand

      Hi Brandon thanks so much! I haven't heard of anyone mixing the products together yet but I have briefly thought of that to see whether the results would be even better. Please let me know how it goes for you!
      Although I am not sure how well the K18 leave-in mask would penetrate the hair after the Olaplex Stand Alone since they do recommend to just shampoo prior to application.
      K18 states Olaplex is a synthetic fix and that K18 doesn't temporarily patch damage, it is able to reverse damage through their patented peptide.

    • @advisemethis
      @advisemethis 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@EverythingHairBrand I know that a lot of ‘bond builders’ have tried so hard to replicate Olaplex, and when this has happened and as we know, we have had many companies claiming that their bond technology does the same thing when this is not true. Olaplex was in discussions with Loreal about how the ingredient works, giving them some basic information which spread like wild fire, which is why you will find most bond builders use Maleic Acid which is a stabiliser known to stop the creation of Cysteic Acid (a acid that eats proteins) and only one of many molecules that makes Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate which actually a very salt of something that involves not only stopping Cysteic Acid but also multiplies disulfide bonds, which is probably due to some amino acids and more. We will never know. However, Olaplex is not synthetic is the way K18 is making it out to be. The others that copied Olaplex, are, because they use conditioning ingredients, Olaplex does not.
      The way I have been told by both Olaplex and K18 to do this is:
      1. Wash hair twice with a clarifying shampoo to de-mineralise the hair and any build up. Do not follow up with conditioner.
      2. Spray K18 Mist into towel dried hair and brush through throughly. Wait 4 minutes.
      3. Apply Olaplex No.1 for 5 to 10 minutes, followed by Olaplex No. 2 for 20+ minutes.
      4. Lightly wash hair from root to end with Olaplex No. 4, rinse, do not follow up with conditioner. Make sure all shampoo is rinsed.
      5. Apply K18 Mask to towel dried hair. Wait 4 minutes.
      (Step 6 is optional but I love to do this)
      6. Apply Olaplex 4-in-1 after K18, leave on for desired amount of time, then rinse.
      I like to do this last step because while K18 is still doing it’s magic, the 4-in-1 gives deep moisture benefits that are truly noticeable. The only thing is that you rinse is out but I believe it is worth it and the hair feels so amazing afterwards. This way it is balancing all types of repair from the inside and out.

      @@EverythingHairBrand you’re most welcome! I would LOVE to see a video of this as well as a lot of people are and have been asking everywhere if and how you would use Olaplex and K18 both as a professional and as a consumer so I think it would help a lot of people that like to use both.

    • @EverythingHairBrand
      @EverythingHairBrand  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, the mist is good because it's going to help strengthen your hair to withstand the damage that occurs during your chemical service. It's a great product to use before exposing your hair to the damage of bleach, color, etc. Of course, it's best to finish with the mask as a post service treatment as it will repair damage caused during your salon service and it will close the hair cuticle and seal in the peptide that repairs broken keratin chains. It also has some lightweight conditioning benefits which can help keep your hair smooth and soft. It's not necessary as you should still have a good result but I think adding it can definitely benefit you. Since hair damage is ongoing, if you do get the mask you can continue to use it for maintenance of your hair and also with a healthy hair base, services should last longer :) K18 also has a new product now which is their oil, you can test it out if you are interested. Do I need to wash with the detox every time at the 6 times?

    • @EverythingHairBrand
      @EverythingHairBrand  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sarah, prior to initiating treatment you can start with the detox shampoo to clear the path for maximum peptide penetration and optimal results. For the follow up washes you can use the pH maintenance shampoo on the days between the detox when your hair doesn't have a ton of buildup and needs a cleanse. It's a daily shampoo and you can use it as often as you'd like. When you need a more heavy duty cleanse then go for the detox again. For instance, when you see buildup such as flakes and stickiness, dryness, and brittleness.

    Thanks for the honest review, for the professional mask and mist how often it needs to be done? Once a month? Does it makes a difference for root touch up? Can the professional overuse cause issues in the hair?

    • @EverythingHairBrand
      @EverythingHairBrand  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, the mask is the same and the only difference is in the size. The mask comes in a larger pro exclusive size and the mist is intended for professional use only. The mist and the mask is actually a progressive treatment and your hair undergoes a reparative phase. Every time you use the products your hair is building upon the repair that was happening before. It is recommended to use the mask consecutively after washing your hair for the first 4-6 shampoos and then every 3-4 washes for maintenance.
      You can do the mist and mask service every time you go to the salon and the mist is especially great to use before a chemical service. It helps to strengthen the hair to withstand damage that occurs during a chemical service. The higher pH of the product helps to open the cuticle layer of the hair so that it can target the areas that are damaged and helps to reset the hair's canvas before exposing the hair to chemical services. It's basically going to help renew your existing damage to strengthen the hair in preparation for chemical services.
      I would recommend to use the products as directed by K18. We will be releasing another K18 video soon with a new protocol on how the mist and mask can be used and to discuss their new products. Stay tuned! 💕

    I'm about to change my semi perm bright/vivid color. Would I be able to do this right after using K18 and drying my hair? Or would I need to have the K18 washed out before I apply my new color?

    • @EverythingHairBrand
      @EverythingHairBrand  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, you would first apply the mist and without rinsing out (dry hair if needed) apply the color on top of the mist and process as usual. After shampooing, do not apply conditioner and towel dry. Then you would apply the mask and wait 4 minutes before styling. Do not rinse the mask out. At the salon you can also get the K18 chelator treatment which would be applied on dry hair prior to the mist. Mist hair with water before applying the mist if you do not use the chelator.
      The chelating complex will reset your hair for optimal chemical service results and will help to revive the color vibrancy.
      The mist will open the cuticle layer so that the K18PEPTIDE can get in and help strengthen your hair's defense against the damaging chemical service. Then the mask will close the cuticle layer to seal in the K18PEPTIDE for renewed strength and elasticity.

    • @EverythingHairBrand
      @EverythingHairBrand  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FosterTheFelines Hi again, I'm sorry for the confusion. If you are coloring your own hair then you would just process the color as usual, shampoo, skip the conditioner, towel dry - 65% damp, apply the K18 mask, wait 4 minutes, and then you can continue to apply your normal hair products. You should be able to see results by just using the mask but remember it is a progressive treatment. The mask is a leave-in treatment so you would apply it after you are done coloring as I have mentioned and you do not need to wait until you wash your hair again you can use it after the color :)

    is the spray the same kind of treatment as the mask or only used before chemical treatment?

    • @EverythingHairBrand
      @EverythingHairBrand  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kathy, the mist is different from the leave-in mask. The mist is lightweight and was engineered to strengthen the hair's defense against damaging chemical services such as bleach, color, etc. It is used pre-service as the pH is higher and it allows for the hair cuticle layer to open so that the hair's cortex can be penetrated and for the peptide to be delivered to damaged sites on a molecular level. It's basically repairing existing damage and strengthening the hair before a chemical service and allowing for the strongest canvas to create on. It can also be used as a treatment without a chemical service (in cases of extreme damage or fine hair as it won't weight the hair down) and for maximum damage repair it can be layered underneath the mask which is K18's "double dose treatment". By using both one on top of the other, you’re doubling down on the peptide for maximum repair. Check out our other K18 video here th-cam.com/video/kujKnpqK9Bs/w-d-xo.html where I discuss this at the 7:40 mark.
      The mask is a post-service treatment that repairs damage caused during the salon service and it is also used at home as a treatment to control ongoing damage. It has a lower pH and helps to close the cuticle layer of the hair and seal in the peptide. It also has lightweight conditioning benefits to help keep the hair smooth and soft.

    • @EverythingHairBrand
      @EverythingHairBrand  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lucy, no you do not need to blow dry as this is not a heat activated product. If you are in the process of repairing your hair then leaving it to air dry is a good idea to help minimize damage. After the 4 minutes are up, you can then proceed with combing and styling however you'd like with a styling product of your choice if desired :) The key is to not overdo the mask.

      I understand what you mean. It can be difficult to determine how great a product is when you have healthier hair. Personally, if my hair responds well to a product I tend to continue using it for a certain timeframe (before switching to something else) because hair will always benefit from products such as K18 to repair the hair even if it is healthy since it still gets damaged on a daily basis from things such as brushing etc.
      Thankfully you have healthy hair which is such a blessing! Thanks for watching and supporting our channel.

    • @EverythingHairBrand
      @EverythingHairBrand  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lexi, you don't have to drop conditioner from your routine completely. You'll just need to adjust your routine when using K18 if you do want/need to use conditioner to smooth frizz or detangle your hair. For example, on days you use the K18 mask instead of using conditioner right after shampooing- simply shampoo your hair as usual and then towel dry your hair and apply the mask. Wait 4 minutes and then hop back into the shower and apply your conditioner. You can also try detangling your hair prior to the shower so that you can make your life easier and not have to do this process. Otherwise, when you aren't using K18 you can definitely follow your usual hair routine.

    Thanks for the video. I tried K18 and indeed I saw a real difference!
    I have very fine hair and they frizz easily (most of the time I hate my hair tbh).
    K18 is effective and easy to apply. The only problem is the price 😭
    I tested Olaplex also (the 0 and the 3 before shampoo). I also feel a difference but as I shampoo in the morning, it’s more difficult to incorporate in a shampoo routine (it’s when I go in the shower that I realise that I could / should have apply Olaplex 40 min before).
    I’m looking for other products that I could use but more to protect my hair (so I don’t need to repair it).
    What would you advise ? Olaplex 4 and 5 ? Or kerastase (but which one?) ? Redken ?
    Or I can use any shampoo and conditioner but it’s better to apply a leave in treatment afterwards?

    • @EverythingHairBrand
      @EverythingHairBrand  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Virginie! It made me sad reading that you hate your hair most of the time 💔 I hope that will change for you soon! Yeah, K18 is not a cheap product but while you have it try to use it consecutively so that you can get the most benefit from it. Also, with K18 given that you have very fine hair you may not need to invest in conditioning products (since K18 has lightweight conditioning benefits) so that's a plus.
      I agree with you that it's easier/more convenient to apply and fit into your routine in comparison to Olaplex. However, you don't have to keep Olaplex 0+3 in for that long you can apply it for a minimum of 20 min. Prime with 0 for 10 min & then apply 3 over it for an additional 10min if you are rushing.
      I would check out the new shampoo from Kerastase the Chroma Absolu line Bain Chroma Respect. It is formulated for fine hair and is sulfate-free. It is a gentle, protective, and hydrating shampoo that preserves color. Olaplex 4 may be too concentrated for you and K18 states to not use it on the days you use the K18 mask. If you do use it, you only need a very small amount- just lather it well in your palms prior to application. I would also look into the new serum from Olaplex N9 as it is made to protect your hair, it's truly an amazing product and it won't weigh your hair down. We have a video on it where you can see the consistency etc. Please keep us updated with what you decide to do and how your hair responds to K18 after you have used it multiple times. I hope we can help in some way!

      @@EverythingHairBrand a big thank you for your response and advice 🤗
      I want to improve my hair and I’m a little lost at the moment. Like I said I have very fine hair. My chance is that I have curls so it gives at least some illusion of volume.
      Till now I was using a shampoo and a heavy mask each time (a normal conditioner doesn’t work : my hair is dry and looks like straw) but after I blow dry my hair, most of the time I see my hair without curls but more on the frizzy side…like a witch or someone who put their finger in a socket… That why I hate it because I don’t know what to do to change this.
      From what I understand I should
      - use restorative products like k18 and olaplex 0 and 3 -> together on the same routine or alternatively ? Like 4-5 shampoos with one of the 2 to repair my hair and then 1/ week K18 and 1/week olaplex 0 &3 ?
      - use a shampoo for fine hair that hydrates and protect. Thanks for the tip about Kerastase chroma absolu. I will buy it
      - not use a conditionner but rather a leave on treatment after shampoo (when I’m not using the K18)? I will have a look at olaplex 9. Chroma absolu has also a serum. Would you recommend it or olaplex 9 is better ?
      Is this routine correct ? Are there specific attention points ?
      Already thank you very much for your response and advice 🙏🙏

      @@virginiemazy7054 do you know what caused your hair to be this way? Is your hair color treated? The Chroma Absolu line is for color treated hair.
      Try using the shampoo we discussed(if your hair is color treated) with the K18 mask 6 washes in a row. Then you can use it every 3-4 washes for maintenance. I have heard great results from Olaplex 9 for curly hair so I think it is worth a try. The Chroma Absolu and the Olaplex 9 should both help with frizz. I would also try to stay away from heat while you are trying to repair your hair to give your hair a break and if you do have to blow dry do not touch the hair directly with the dryer. Stay consistent, give your hair some time and see if there are any improvements. Any steps in the right direction are already a good sign. If the Chroma Absolu line is something that is for you and if you like it then you can always try incorporating some of their other products. I am using the entire line right now and I like it. I will use both because I saw a video on YT. If your hair is like a ladder, K18 and olaplex both repair the sulfur “bars” but one of the 2 repairs the vertical ones and the other ones the horizontal ones.
      - the redken extreme anti-snap treatment to have a leave in product after shampoo. I wanted to buy the olaplex 9 but I couldn’t find it (in Belgium). I will keep looking and searching in order to try it when I can put my hands on it.
      I blow dry my hair in order to have volume. Otherwise my hair lays flat. I will try not to do it once or maybe only dry the scalp. My hair is not that long though (I have a bob cut).
      I started also to use the hair serum of the ordinary to see if I would get a boost from it.

One is microdosed with their peptide and is good for everyday use and the other one also has the peptide and is a clarifying shampoo. It's going to prep the hair for maximum treatment results. In the meanwhile, you can use a clarifying shampoo prior to initiating treatment to remove any buildup you may have for better penetration of the peptide. Then switch back to your regular shampoo but don't use any shampoos that are repair or ultra moisturizing so that the treatment can be effective.

What type of hair do you have and what type of damage (chemical, mechanical, both) What do you believe is causing your hair to be damaged? It's best a professional is able to assess your hair in person to determine what it needs and how to help you revive your hair. It may be your hair needs more conditioning and may have better results using another product concurrently. Please don't be discouraged because there's definitely a solution out there for you and so many great products- you just have to find the right one for your needs. You have an option to reach out to K18 and explain your situation to them and they may have further recommendations for you. @@sobean9309 Hi, K18 is not a protein treatment and will not build up in the hair the way a synthetic or animal protein will. An extreme amount of protein is only possible when proteins are synthetic.If overused, it can create build up in the hair and result in brittle, weak hair. K18 is made up of 13 amino acids which form into a peptide chain nature intended. This technology regenerates the disulfide bond in the hair.
      As far as Olaplex, it is a bond multiplier that rebuilds the broken disulfide bonds in the hair and is not a protein treatment. Olaplex is safe to use as often as needed. Some Olaplex products contain protein but the amounts are minimal and not enough to be considered a protein treatment.

Any progress is already a step in the right direction. Stick with a routine that works best for you and I hope to hear some good news from you in the near future :)
