    The M1 concept is interesting, you're taking an engineer that knows how to build anything he wants (has access to loads of feedback from artists) and delivered the popular Xone series. A guy that moved from DJing static tracks into performing live on stage and the M1 is the result. I don't think these guys are making a whole lot of money from this line and its more a labor of love for them. Andy Rigby-Jones would be intimately familiar with the compromises he had to make in order to hit a specific price point for the Xone series to be sold to a broad group of people (this is how it works, they generally get an awesome product and then chop away to make it affordable). I hope the price of the M1 and M1.4 reflects the uncompromising approach that they have taken as it isn't mass produced to get those numbers down.
    Would be very cool if someone could take the M1 or M1.4 apart and compare the insides with a 96, DB4 or the latest Pioneer mixers. I feel like they've taken a lot of the filter/sculpting concepts from the DB4, added the send/return from the 96 and made it all analog so there is no software to support or chance the product goes out of date in the future.

    This is the best option for a home professional mixer and definitely what I plan to upgrade to from my 92. I really am also hoping PionnerDJ makes a 4 channel version of their DJM V10-LF.

    The fader issue surprises me - having so much control and then having exponential fader curves is a bit baffling, especially if they’re also being used for summing where you want to tweak levels with real accuracy. Wondering if someone will build a more linear/logarithmic fader mod (or even a rotary mod!)
    I think by that point you’ll have a mixer I’d be truly falling in love with

    If that 'master eq' had a assign switch, boom, suddenly you have a perfect mixer. Also yeah, make them isolators. Imagine being able to asign to the track your taking out, and you basically have full control of mixing. I cannot believe how simple this would be to impliment, and they havent done it, crazy. If i designed a mixer for a & h or anyone, it would have an assignable isolator to each channel or main. Small addition. huge result. Also, i think some effects would be nice. I also think model 1 would be great for live acts. Bad for djs. No sound card is a cop out too.

    Having the Aux as a send/return is a game changer for me. I have a Xone:92 and run a RMX-1000 out Aux1 & back through channel 4 and use the crossfader to swap across when needed, which is a pain sometimes so this would make a massive difference - but for that price? Great review, although it appears to be a fantastic mixer, it's just lacking some of the finer details that you can get in similar mixes. They should have incorporated a curve fader option, and, if the interface you are using does not have a Dsub connection, for Traktor users, there does not appear to be record-out RCA's to link to your interface? Might have to stick with my trusty old Xone92 :-)

I went from the xone 92 to the model 1 and the difference is staggering. It certainly is. I have the model 1 and I was mixing on it straight away when first powered it up. Very easy to mix on using the low pass and high pass filters. Then start using the parametric eq when got used to it. You really can’t make a bad mix on this, it’s almost too easy to mix on!

    • @909Mark
      @909Mark 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@erikcharlat9844 yesterday i bought an old pioneer djm 700. i'll be good with a beginner dj-mixer, because i'm a beginner again after so many years of mixing-absence. and to be honest, i gotta know my mixing-skills with three sl1210 mkII decks first before i buy some really x-pensive, pro and new stuff like model1, denon x1850 prime, xone:96 or the pioneer djm-v10. primarily it has to be fun, creating new versions of my club and HOUSE classixxs from the 90s, 80s and 70s. music's first in my opinion.
      just one question for you. you know what kind of tool/hardware is on the market to extract the music from a song, so that you get only the vocals.
      are there applications or programs that can be used to reduce a song to just the vocals ?
      then i can do really nice remixes for me, myself & i and family or friends.
      because nowadays music sucks a bit or it's very x-pensive on vinyl. and for me there's strictly 'vinyl' rhythm.

      everyone says, it's the gold-standard
      of dj mixer, and the PIONEERS were totally overrated. pioneer is the best in marketing and distribution i'd say. in my eyes, everyone should buy the dj-mixer he wants, and then he has to shut up !!! and most of all, not everyone can afford € 2.000,00 or € 3.000,00 or € 4.000,00 dj-mixer.
