2:36 to 4:18 is the greatest moment in music history for me. People may say it is out of tune or that they missed some notes, but the raw emotion and passion at that part is so incredibly powerful. Nothing I've seen can match it.
I'd be honored if some Radiohead fans would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances of HIGH & DRY, as well as VIRTUAL INSANITY by Jamiroquai and BITTERSWEET SYMPHONY by the Verve on my YT channel in tribute to 3 of the greatest 90s bands. Live acoustic with no autotune. Thanks and peace out.
I liked the Jonathan Ross version from the same year. The Amnesty International '98 version was the closest he ever came to nailing the song in front of an audience.
This was me and my brother's favourite band and this was his song..he passed away few months ago age 45 I play this for him everyday I'll never forget you rest easy big bro....thank you Radiohead for helping me keep my brother's dreams alive throo your music . tom yorke you are a legend
johnny greenwood's guitar creativity and thom's vocal are the two things that makes you feel like you are in heaven and the part where johnny starts thrashing his guitar brought heavenly chills upon me!!!got to love radiohead
"But I can't help the feeling I could blow through the ceiling if I just turn and run...... And if I could be who you wanted If I could be who you wanted....." my heart is breaking
The song of a lifetime. Thank God I grew up in an era where this song was recorded. We often talk about "special" songs.....This is special. Thank you, Radiohead.
Even though they went on to release some amazing music after this, this has to be Radiohead at their absolute peak. I’ll never forget seeing this. I was never a massive fan, but after watching this performance, I went out and bought everything they’d ever released. Still a massive fan to this day … over 20 years later.
2:44 to 3:33 is one of the most brilliant most powerful and emotionally moving pieces of music I have ever heard in my entire life. I hope to one day experience it for myself...
To the girl dancing at 3:08, you were part of what made this video perfect. May you have a beautiful life, now and to the next ones. You deserve love from everyone.
The image at 3.08 is absolutely magical. This performance is utterly, utterly beautiful, the way it moves from an elegiac whisper to an explosion of staggering power and then floats back down to earth is truly 4.43 of perfection.
Sayang nya jarang anak muda Indonesia yg suka sama band ini. Ini band gak ada dua nya.. the best the best dan the best... Musik rasa Vodka Telen pait tapi nagih
I agree that the look and feel of the concert would arguably better without all the phones, but also don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to film it and re - live the experience of it later on
something about that repeated note here at 2:58 is so emotionally charged. it feels as though he’s been aware of this “fake plastic love” for awhile he just wasn’t ready to face reality and is drawn to that feeling of love even though he knows its untrue
my version of the best song, between the emotions of anger and sadness combined, we can hear the sadness in Tom Yorke's voice, and the anger from Jonny's guitar
This song devastates me emotionally. Damage. But I can't stop listening. "If I could be who you wanted... All the time All the time." It is death by Radiohead. It is killing me. Like a moth to a flame.
It's rare when music is so deeply touching, you can actually feel colors....does that even make sense? Nonetheless, Radiohead's collaborations simply move me. So powerful.
You can genuinely tell how much the song means to him, the final minute is so emotional, his voice cracks on the very first word at 3:32 and you can see it in his face from there forward ❤ such an amazing song, forever one of my favourites
It takes a lot to make me cry. I’m an emotional person but the tears are rare. And usually it’s words that make me cry in a song, but when Johnny goes ham especially at the “but I can’t help the feeling” part... no guitarist or instrumentalist for that matter has made me cry as much as Johnny does in that specific moment, and just imagining the rush of emotions to in that moment produce something like that and go that hard... THIS is why live music is special!
I love the shot at 3:02. Phil is so proper with his suit and perfect tempo drumming while Jonny is in the background looking like he's beating the hell out of his guitar. And I love Thom's mocking sing-along tone of "Who just crumbles and buuuuuu-uuuurns." That one line adds so much more to the song.
This IS My Rock band. Real music, real words, real emotions, out of the world experience. Thom Yorke is a genius, thanks to RH for all moments when I listened to them
it's actually quite the opposite, it's more about realizing that everything that you loved in this world ,even the woman you're with, is fake, as are your feelings for just about everything. I take the line 'she looks like the real thing, she tastes like the real thing', to have a certain degree of confusion to it as if to say, well, she looks real, smells real, tastes real. How can she not be real? And then then the anxiety of realizing you've been living a fake plastic life takes over.
this is one of their songs that you can ACTUALLY sing and play WITHOUT too many unnecessary empty spaces and complicated chords and lyrics...and there are few of these playable songs in the entire Radiohead catalog! legends!
it's safe to say this song changed my life... and very much for the better. the vocals, instrumentation and accompanying video are beautifully realised. when I was younger I tried hard to decipher the lyrics, whereas these days I just sit back and enjoy the majesty of it
Raw emotion, full of sincerity and such passion and creativity in how its delivered. This band is unmatched and this is on my top 10 all time favorite songs list ...
Of course, everyone in this band is extremely talented ❤ but the live version of Johnny guitar solo, is next level, he has got to be my favorite guitar player
It's a very special song. It's like a reality check reminding me of the things in life that just don't matter at all. I think the first verse really sums up the world we live in. So much is plastic, we just consume for consumptions sake and we gain nothing.
What a special special band , they re so themselves and have always been devoted to their own ideals as a band and no one else's , none on this eccentric desire to aspire to u2 like most other bands have like Coldplay. I remember downloading this off Napster in college...it took 48 minutes...worth it.
Excuse me, what's "Napster"?

Before downloading music was such an easy thing. That triggered some memories lol

Everyone has their own favorite band, but nobody can deny the fact that on this night Radiohead was the best rock band in the world.
I agree brother!
Amen.
That's so pretentious.
Amen

johnny greenwood puts more emotion into playing one note on the guitar than most musicians do in their whole career.
I swear to God. Johnny just murderer his guitar.
Too bad the video editor thought we didn't need to see it.
Hee wore me out with out a shout top of the pops
Couldn't agree more. David Gilmour is the same for me too!
I kinda feel like he was annoyingly outta tune tbh
I would retire as a musician if I had just one song like this. It's fucking perfection
Amen brother
3 years late....but you are so right. This is just epic.
That moment when Jonny Greenwood's goes full nuts...then you feel happy for being alive.
i wish the camera would stay on him a little more...
Everyone in the band just feels the emotion outpouring from this songm Classic radiohead
I haven't had that moment....jk, i've had it many times watching this video!
exactly!!!!
Absolutely brilliant

Best live version of this song ever. The final qlimax is a huge bomb.
Simone Di Francesco best live version, period.

Yes! Huge ending. Gives me goosebumps now watching it. Was 2/3 rows at the front. Been concerts around the world…nothing comes close

They are like peanut butter and chocolate. Great on their own, but absolutely unbeatable together
"If I could be who you wanted.." That part gets to me every time
When Johnny goes full berserker at the crescendo is absolute pure catharsis. Never fails to send shivers down my spine. True beauty.
"But I can't help the feeling
I could blow through the ceiling
if I just turn and run......
And if I could be who you wanted

Just started getting into Radiohead(I’m 23) and I’m obsessed with this song. Best live performance of it
I’m 23 now man and just getting into them. I hope 26 is treating you well. I hope it’ll be treating me well when I get there too.
This is, by far, the best live performance I've listened of this song. I could blow through the ceiling!
They played on Conan’s show it is a very special live performance as well. Check it out sometime.
This song never gets old.
This song makes me want to fall in love but at the same time it makes me feel lonely.....And that’s how this song kills me inside.

This version of this song speaks to me on a spiritual level. It’s wonderful. the passion, the brilliance, Thom’s voice. I watch it daily
i can't help the feeling from 2:43 - 3:33
Jonny Greenwood amazing
I could burst through the ceiling, if I just turned and run.
Not many live performances bring tears to my eyes but this is certainly one
Listening to this song makes me forget about all the pain in my life. Thomas yorkes voice assures me that I don't know what pain is.
Javis Williamson he does the opposite for me man
I watch this so often it’s ridiculous. This is the greatest live performance of any song
I never get tired of seeing these crowds pre-2008 with no phones sticking out. Great performance!
the phones back then were so shit that there was no point in even filming it.
I agree that the look and feel of the concert would arguably better without all the phones, but also don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to film it and re - live the experience of it later on
Agreed. As someone who was born in 99. It's good to see people listening and just taking in the music rather than filming it.
Thanks iPhone !

I can play this song on my bass guitar and it is sooooooooooooooooooo much fun to play on it! I can't get enough of this song!!!!!!!
When Thom Yorke wrote this song... he cried afterwards.
Without of doubt this is one of the best songs ever written

Best song to ever be written in the 90's. Proud to have witnessed both Fake Plastic Trees as well as Creep live!
