I will be playing an Ironman challenge run of Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation on Lunatic Difficulty, without playing skirmish/DLC maps.
In Ironman runs, I am not allowed to reset the game, use savepoints, or save states. Each action or occurrence is as a result, permanent. Any characters that die will remain dead for the rest of the run, and if I lose the game, the run is over. If I fail the run and need to restart, I will begin at the Branch of Fate, meaning I will not need to replay chapters 1-6.

This is giving me Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume flashbacks.
For those who haven't played it, there's one very notorious mission somewhat early on wherein you have to save an allied unit. She starts in the middle of the map, and if you do not IMMEDIATELY move at least one unit into the range of another enemy, getting them attacked for a lot of damage in the process, then the allied unit will be killed on turn one, before you can even have the change to attack another enemy.
And even then, said allied unit will still barely survive, and can very easily kill themselves attacking on the following turn. Love protection missions.

@@shytendeakatamanoir9740 Yes, but to get the true ending, you have to make sure you don't use the Dusk Plume at all for a good portion of the game.

Well, IIRC, In this game most male characters here won't actually "die" if they are defeated on battle in classic mode. Instead they just retreat, but are unable to fight permanently. Most female characters instead (not counting important ones like Azura or Hinoka) are the ones to actually die should they get defeated. This situation also happened in Awakening but it was the other way around.

@@swinelias This is because of the child units. Awakening has child units based on the mothers and Fates have them based on their fathers.

This isn't as horrible as Conquest Chapter 17 actually outside of the Non-hostile NPC units there near hostile enemy units. Here is a thing: some people had to early promote Corrin and reclass them into a flying class to recruit the NPCs. Or at least kill the enemies that would kill them turn 1
