- In today's video Heather and I try to fix a huge mistake we made building our off grid post and beam building. We will do our best to make it right while having fun doing it.
Great progress. Heather is indispensable. I wish I had a saw person in all of my projects through the years. She really is quite a lady!
Good job guys you got all straightened now have a great day
I just like watching guys doing what you do and then I say THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO
Love you Heather ,That's Okay . I forget stuff also . Thank you Cecil , you straightened that crooked stud in your wall .The top plate looks good .Seeya
Cecil, you owe Heather a night out of her choice. Under circumstances that could have caused issues with any couple trying to do something together, Heather said and I quote; " I love you for who you are " and this told me so much about who she is, and your relationship together. She is a very special person, and what a soul mate you have in your life. Appreciate it, as others have relationships that are far from your and Heather's. I knew Heather was special, but I didn't realize just how much until I saw the opening of this video. What you both accomplish together, year after year, under some of mother natures most difficult and extreme conditions, is truly amazing and you both must have both a clear vision for your future, and the patients of Jobe, to stay on track to achieve that vision together. My very best to you both, and submitted with great respect.... Joe
An old carpenter once told me that the secret of being a carpenter is being able to fix your mistakes.
Hello Capn, yup..that sounds about right. I did my best to get this mistake all straightened out so we can continue. Thanks again. You have a great day. Cheers!
It'll be easer now your all level again .
As a builder, I always said a mistake at the footing will follow you up to the peak of the roof.
Cecil, quit treating Heather like a child. She is awesome and you are very lucky to have her with you.
Amazing video
I have one a helper just like yours. LOL.
I am glad to see you back in the swing working on the building more.
Hello James, thank you very much..we are really going to spend as much time as we can on the building. We want it all completely dried in before fall. Thanks again. You have a great day. Cheers!
Just remember Cecilyou have to sleep sometime..you might wake up with makeup on...lol
Cecil if it goes up it goes up on both ends
A great and "clean" video, guys. It was entertaining 👍🏻😎
😊😊😊
Hi Heather & Cecil. It was a good recovery from your problem. But as you said, the ground frost was your enemy in the end. But now you've got that sorted. Looking forward to the next episode. Take care. :-))
Looking good. God bless.
Well, Cecil Barns is coming along pretty well! it's just a tad dark in there! Keep up the good work
"It's ok! I luv U for who U R" 👍🌷

The trick in correcting ones mistakes, is to learn from them and never to repeat them..
Cecil I don't think Heather made the mistake
Hi Cecil and Heather! I am enjoying the progress on the pole barn but please put some cross bracing on that scaffold! You are scaring me!🙀
That why you pour concrete piers
It looks great! Good job.
Looking great 👍🇩🇰🇩🇰☕️☕️😁
Well somehow I lost you fine folks for a while but now I am back.
Hello Paul, Well welcome back. We hope you still enjoy what we are doing here. You have a great day. Cheers!
good progress
Video is not a good representation of the actual boards but is that center vertical beam plumb?
Shud have done alittle more work and put in concrete footings and a three foot concrete 8 inch pier.. Ontario building code identifies the problem
Too expensive..we couldn't afford concrete. Cheers!
@@SkinnersOffGrid Yes Cecil your right about the cement. I did it the old timer's way.. Dig the hole put a large flat rock at the bottom and back fill with coarse gravel.. Stops the frost heave.. Not criticizing just some oldtimer's knowledge..
YIKES!
Oh no...not another mistake 😮
Well, at least Heathers not the type to yell "Skinner, wtf, not again...😡I've had it, you're fired"👊😆
Fix it like a pro 😜 never did see you put the level on the ridge beam is it still plum but have a good day
👍👍👍👍👍👌
Good Morning guys......Glad to see a new video.......We all make mistakes but they are part of the learning cycle.....Hope you have a Great day and be Safe
Good morning Dean, Thanks..we are happy you are still enjoying our videos. This mistake ended up costing us a few hours worth of work :-( Thanks again. You have a great day. Cheers!
that center support pole is bent.
Hello Terry, It's a camera illusion. This lens is making things look bent :-( Cheers!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👋👍👍👍👍👍🙋♂️🙂🤗😅
👍🏽👍🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Pak een balk en een krik en hij gaat omhoog
your standing on the mistake
Did I hear that right, you locked yourself inside a camper trailer. 😎
I think that you are getting overly concerned about your measurements.. I mean the barn is what 40 by 60 and you are concerned about a 1/4 inch.. Trust me where you live that bldge is going to move up and down every year for as long as it stands.. Relax a bit..
It wasn't a mistake he knew what was going to happen
The center upright needs to be shorter , it's pushing the center up pulling the wall in at the top !
Hello, thanks..I will look into that. You have a great day. Cheers!
Flirting while at work, huh?
