    I can't understand why 225 is the standard across the board. If you're a 225lb linebacker and you're a 250lb linebacker one would expect the 250lb linebacker to lift more reps. So why would a 180lb player already be expected to lift more then their own bodyweight ? Why not just do a count 1/1 rep out based on bodyweight?

    I did 225 for 19 twice (two sets with a 4 minute rest). I want to get up to 25 reps.

      I was the same as you lmao, just focus on heavy triples and do like 4 sets, also weighted dips really blew up my bench

      Do push-ups bro 100 a day 50 when you wake up and 50 an hour before you sleep really helped my bench press go up alot

    I’m here strictly to prove it to myself. People look at me and expect me to be one of the strongest guys in the room since 6’4 250 and 24 hrs old but I have never trained bench press seriously ever. I’m just starting to get into it and I can only do 225 15 times which makes me feel embarrassed so it’s strictly just a pride thing right now. How do I get extremely strong and get past this plateau ? Seriously.

      @@Shawn-ho6de makes you recruit more muscles I think and it also promotes more stability because of how thick the bar is, it’s harder to grip it like a normal bench
