Habit #1 - create the illusion that you never stopped something you've already started Habit #2 - have a messy dashboard, use your brain to think ABOUT things not OF things, attach to-do things with time, empty your mind with tasks so it can be filled with ideas Habit #3 - time = reality, right down top 3 tasks you want to complete for that day Habit #4 - work ON your life, spend 5 hours a week working on something that matters to you
David Allen’s book “Getting Things Done “ is the best book ever and saved my sanity. I still apply the principles after 15 years in all aspects of my life. Its an easy read and easy to implement.
My takeaways - ▫️Habit 1(0:25) - "Create the illusion that you never stopped something you have already started" ❤ Do the task for a couple of minutes, the day before that you have actually to get done. ▫️ Habit 4(4:33) - Spend 5 hours per week on PASSION PROJECT and doing the things that matter to you.
Love this, such important information/reminders. The first habit is what Hemingway would say is finishing in the middle of a sentence - that's how i remember that and it really works. I haven't been doing it so good reminder! I think the passion project one is what I need to implement most because I have a young family, full time job, house to manage etc and I don't spend much time on creative stuff, I don't make time and that does lead to drudgery and feeling really resentful of all the other things I have to do. I just used your backwards planning method to scope out planning a joint 40/50th birthday party for me and my partner this year and it was so fun, it feels really manageable and I'm excited to get started.
I just wanted to tell you your videos are very helpful. It shows the hard work you put into making them. Please keep making them. I really hope your channel grows a lot this year. You deserve it. You got a new subscriber.
Thanks for this video with simple, but smart and effective rules. I really like your explanations. A few times a day, I hear your voice in my head "time is reality". 😂 That helps!
I really enjoyed your video. Even though I'm already doing much of what you suggest, perhaps subconsciously, it's raised my awareness. Thanks for the great content!
Watching a John Lennon documentary and then opened this (note the War is Over print behind her). Also happened to start using the 5-hour rule this past week without knowing there was a name for it. Either the algorithm is evolving to actually read my mind or synchronicity is a very real thing. 😊 Excellent video!
I’m very with this video you made. You are so beautiful today, or is it just that you’re closer so I can see you better? Sorry, I swear I don’t need glasses! How to juggle a lot of things, that’s exactly what I need! The attaching-tip sounds promising.
Habit # Momentum Prompt a bit to get start smoothly next day #Thought about what you wanna do, note in down on calendar. So it free your mind from juggling idea, while get to do on that idea when the time is suitable #Time=Reality, Align you dream with actionable time, a step closer toward realize the goal # 5 hours rule a week to explore stuf, work on yourself like a child picking up experience, attempt and learning
Not listening to this at 1.25 speed like I usually have to do with people who talk like some loaded their jaw with Botox. Thank you for speaking at a normal pace. 😘 Subscribing!
@@AlexisKingsley I understand they're the same planner. But you have to update in two places- how does that work for you? Isn't it tedious and adds a lot of friction?
@@deafpolygon I personally only use the physical one - the digital one is for nice b-roll and to set appropriate purchase expectations that it's a digital product

My adhd brain loves that you talk straight to the point and at a great speed. I didn’t lose focus not one second. 😁

Wonderful video. No bullshit motivational music, no beating around the bush, tastefully filmed and edited, just straight to the point.

watching this in 0.75 speed playback
Thanks for this tip! :)
Yeah, she does tend to speak very fast
As someone with ADHD I love how fast she talks in this video 😂 I watch most TH-cam vids on 1.5x speed
I always watch her videos slow down because I can’t keep up with her intellect.
i watch in 1,5 speed😂😂
This was one of the best videos I’ve watched this year on helpful habits to change your life. I’m going to try these this year. Thank you!

Pre-emptive starting! Great!

Thanks a bunch for this. I really enjoyed this as an INFP telecaster player!
Way to come up with all of these ideas on your own!
Thanks for the helpful reminders/advice. 😊✏️
This video is so well constructed! I feel like I should be paying for this on skill share or something
I have really been enjoying your videos. Thank you!
Your content is so edifying

Ohhh, so THAT'S why I can't get stuff done. I don't have that thing that makes me feel compelled to finish things.
ADHD characteristic
What's the iPad planner your using in this video?
Girl…. YES 👏🏻 💯♥️

I also do the habit #2 - mandatory cause my mind is always thinking about stuff to do 😂

If you tend to be introverted, can you move along the introversion and extroversion continuum and become tending to be extroverted??
Are you using a digital planner or the paper one? I'm confused.
They're both the same planner - the 2024 Intentional Planner available at alexiskingsley.com

Hey.
What's ur mbti alex? How can i call u, pardon me.
Such a fast talker, so hard to take it in. I slowed the playback down to 0.75, much better.
thank you so much for the series of productivity videos 🥹 my messy mind needed that
