I love that you talk about the challenges you run into on your pieces and how you solution on the go. I think this is what the artistic process realistically is! Things almost never turn out exactly how you expect them to, no matter how much planning or studies your do before starting the final work. You gotta be able to roll with the punches and adjust your approach to get to your best possible end product. And these zodiac pieces continue to be fantastic. I love that you've been steering clear of the stereotypical zodiac imagery for them.
also, watching this video im reminded how years ago when I first saw your work, it was a Momo illustration that really grabbed me but I stayed for the diverse characters you illustrate. So many beautiful melanated and Asian femmes
the blue shadow on the skin is like other worldly! so good 🤩at 7:40 I am laughing *with* you Tina, omg. I really appreciate your journey as a content creator, now being in this era where you are proud of your whole process and let us in on the lack of perfectionism. its honestly way more inspiring because its relatable & human.
Thanks for being so honest about your process. It's so helpful to see how you pulled this together in the end despite the initial setbacks. I'm at the beginning of my watercolor journey and often I just want to throw things out at that rough stage. This gave me ideas for how I can rehabilitate a drawing instead of starting over
Stunning 🤩. Can’t wait for this to come in the mail! Thanks for showing your process of how you work through things when having trouble with a part of the painting. You have inspired me to not scrap my paintings too early when I run into a jam!
The gouache struggle is for real!!! I've given practicing with gouache a good effort for the past two weeks and wasn't having much luck... but to my delightful, surprise! It is Tina to the rescue!!!!!! ❤😊❤
I'm actually amazed how you pulled that face together in the end this was a great lesson in not quitting because it turned out way better than I thought it would ❤
Wow Tina, I think this is one of my fav videos of yours. Like someone else commented, this went through so many ugly stages yet you persisted = and it turned out really amazingly. It‘s actually super inspiring ❤ Thank you for sharing this whole process, it was quite a ride and will help me be more bold and not give up in my paintings.
I totally get putting down a watercolor base. I use markers and colored pencils. I use a marker base because its easier to put down the actual color, and not having to do so many passes on white paper. I learned so much from you tho! Ive struggled with the colored pencils when it came to drawing. Seeing your process has allowed me to reflect on my own process and alter it. You have a new subscriber!
i'm a leo and I can honestly say you represented us well!! We may get a bad rep thinking we are the center of the world but that doesn't mean we don't care about it. We have leadership qualities, which means we care a lot about the people around us and supporting them fills our cups. The serene look in her expression conveys affection for her friends and family she intends to protect through her actions. Or at least that's my interpretation. Thanks for not giving up on the painting! Love the sunburst color palette you used. The purple gives me life along with the glistening sunkissed freckles that help the painting come alive. Amazing work
Thanks so much for sharing the entire process and not hiding your backtracks and mistakes with editing. It's a huge help to those of us trying to learn these mediums!
Love love love ur videos and it really helps me not feel alone when I struggle during my paintings 😅 so many layers just to get the right look sometimes starts to make ya feel 😢 bad ya know lol
A bit late in case you didn't know but not all sunflowers are bright yellow, a Mouline, Chianti or Earthwalker would have matched the background well, or a Strawberry Blonde to match the hair!

I love your glowy shadows! Sometimes they look like highlights and shadows at the same time. Also great tutorial. Oh yeah and Leo’s rule! ❤❤❤🦁🦁🦁
This went through so many ugly stages and you STILL keep going. I loved it! It became an AMAZING piece!

Her expression is very demure, very mindful and very classy. Love it! ❤

This is so gorgeous! The colour palette is stunning 😍
those colours are gorgeous! and that hair texture looks great, frames the face and adds a nice variation of shape and texture 🥰
I gotta admit, your blending techniques were splendid! Also, I’m sorry I missed out on all your previous zodiac illustrations 🙁
Im glad your feeling better. Another great video.
I felt this in my bones! I also tend to throw the kitchen sink at things until it looks like what I want, your technique is super valid!
Ooo hell yeah, as a Leo i love the colors, it's way better than my imagination.
the watercolour was looking so good! I've done this many times, watercolour isn't a forgiving medium since there's no way to go backwards 😭
