One of my favorite cartoons in 1973. Unfortunately often preempted for Watergate hearings.
TAS is a gem to be cherished. It has some of the best Trek in "Yesteryear", "The Slaver Weapon" and "How Sharper Is the Serpent's Tooth." Its a wonderful show for fans of all ages.
The animated series was a big surprise for me. Just watched it with my wife for the first time recently and I thought it has some of the best Star Trek story ideas and character interplay I’ve seen.
I loved TAS as a kid, but rewatching it as an adult was...difficult. The stories had so much potential, but, between being aimed at kids and stuffed into 20ish minute containers just made them quite mish-mashed. When rewatching them as an adult, I was struck with nostalgia rather substantially by the "incidental" music more than the story telling, and this was reinforced when I heard the same music reused in another Filmation production ("Space Academy" or "Jason of Star Command," I can't remember).
I tend to agree. It has a good deal of goofy and it really let a lot of Scientology mythos bleed into the Federation and the Vulcans. It made some subtle appearances in TOS season 3...but somebody on the TAS team was really into it.
I wonder if it might have been Fontana. GR had little to do with TAS.
I saw this series in reruns on Nickelodeon channel back in the 90’s, and I enjoyed it too🖖🏻.
I believe that would have been where I first seen it as well 😊🖖
In the 70s, kids were a bit more rough and ready than they are now.

Great job on this video dealing with Star Trek: The Animated Series. I have to admit that I have seen some episodes of this animated series thanks to a channel that I get called Heroes and Icons and I have to admit that for an earlier animated series it did have some good episodes, as well as some bad one. However, the main thing that I think this animated series does is to help bring in a new generation of Star Trek fans.
Anyways, thanks again for this new video and wonderful channel. I can't wait to see more Star Trek related content. Hopefully, you have plans to do a video on Scotty. Until then, please take care and Peace to you.

I would have loved to see the 70s animation type for the later series.
I would point out that budgets were so bad, they had forcefield spacesuits because they couldn't afford to animate the spacesuits. On the other hand, thats in the same episode where they made Kzinti part of Trek.

Lower decks is nor successful it got renewed for contractual reasons and was a 20 epsiode order originally split into 2
I think it's probably more successful than you think. I personally love it and very rarely hear my Trek fan friends say anything different
