Interesting video Steve, and respect for doing a different type of video for a short shifter. Far more informative than someone just driving along sayings "it's shorter".. 😁
Cheers for putting my fears to bed regarding the small gap on the shifter Steve. I was concerned I’d not installed my Airtec one correctly. Plus thanks for the shift figures, very informative once again 🤙🏻
Nice one Steve. This is exactly the video I was searching for with actual messurements before and after. Thanks for the effort you put into these videos mate.
Another great vid Steve please keep them coming.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 ps If I spent as much time in my garage as you do I think my wife would divorce me !!!!!!!!!! oh well !!!!!!! ( off to my garage now to polish my rear bumper for 3 hours ) 😁😁😁😁
I would love to know what you thought of DIY GANGES build Steve. It’s the maddest car build I have ever seen. ( Impossible ) I would say. Take a look and let us know on your next vid. Loving the vids
Always enjoy your videos. Are you going to give it the full track treatment and strip the interior and install a roll cage, like your Focus? I'd be interested to see the pounds in weight savings.
Iv learnt from the focus that I want to keep the creature comforts this time so it won't be hardcore. Il just add power to combat the weight. Thanks for watching.
Good video Steve I wish it was out before I done my short shifter on my fst %25 is the way to go in my opinion. Quick question what is the deal with the air feed where you have the puma speed sticker did you cut that out?
No it's just open because the bumper is not fitted. The sticker was just placed there for a bit of advertising. It's not stuck down. We'll spotted though.
Hello, after 1 year of using it, are you still using? Do you think it worth it? I am also planning to add a Pumaspeed short shifter to my MK7 Fiesta ST. I would be appreciated if you share your experience.
Hi buddy I’ve been watching the series and I’m just a bit confused I noticed you had a fiesta st on a few videos months ago, coincidentally the same Color lol is it a different car ?
hi Steve st going grate but i was just wounded what i need to do to buy a co-part car and cost i am local to you just down the road in fact in penygraig perhaps we could meet to talk or swap numbers for a chat or even pop to you waiting on my tax rebate in April and going to look for vxr right back boss
Is the sound quality better now? I have a external mic for the go pro so hopefully it better than before.
Yes it is. We use Rode mics with a dead cat for external shooting.
Quite refreshing to have a rebuild series that is not filled with phrases like "dang son" or "awesome dude"
Thanks very much.👍
This is a properly nerdy series, i love it
being an engineer i would have to take this step with measuring :) thanks for doing it properly :)
Thanks. Being a former carpenter I like measurements too. 😁
Patrick have u seen spongebob he's late for work??

Cheers for another great vid Steve 👍
A good clear informative video bud keep Up the good work 👍
It should be pointed out, that you were going in to "Aluminium" alloy as most "steels" are an alloy as well.
Is it worth getting a short shifter if it going to be for my daily driver 1.4 fiesta or is it only worth it for a track car. Amazing series btw!
Another great video Steve

Yes it's a very good upgrade. But I now have a coolerworx shifter so I don't use this one any more.
My Wife said she preferred the 9.5 inches over the 5
Excellent reply 👍👍👍👍👍 my wife said she is quite happy with 1inch😁😁😁😁😁😁 I do believe she is joking ??????????????
You must like her other guy to be OK with this :P
That’s what your wife told me !😂

@@Sparkplugsteve Thanks Steve i was a bit confused too.
He is the proud father of identical twins !!!
So... Much.... FOREHEAD!!! 😂
New channel name confirmed: Forehead Steve! 😅
Hahaha. I done my own skinhead. No fringe to hide its great size now
Is it true a short shift can damage synchros?
Good to be different! 👍🏽
Good job mate!

Hi its easier than you think. I do plan on making a video soon on the process because a few have asked similar questions.
@@Sparkplugsteve ok thanks steve i only new you were local as noticed my window cleaner and eithan with you lol cheers
@@Penygraigmtb haha their family. 😁
what you planning on doing with that spare short shifter?
It was sent by mistake by pumaspeed so was to be returned.
Looks good 👌
Daft question, but why is the distance to first further on a short shift kit?
I was thinking the same. I think its more the neutral to second gear throe that's a lot more shorter. Could be wrong...
Because he measured the distance between the gear knob and dash which increases as the distance from neutral to a gear decreases.
It did appear that way from the numbers at first but I measured the distance from neutral to 1st and second and they were almost the same.
As Kevin says, the distance travelled by the gear knob is shorter, so will be further away from the dash.
@@kevcahill89 - You see I was expecting the actual travel from neutral to all the gears to be shorter on a short shift kit........
Would the st short shifter fit my wife’s mrk7 fiesta titain?
It does not fit the 1 litre to my knowledge. I think there's a specific one available for them though.
Take your hat off mr spark plug
I did. Lol
15 to 20% shorter in numbers is 15 to 20% lol
I'm thick as a brick so had to measure just to check.😂
@@Sparkplugsteve you scratched your curiosity itch now so worth it in the end
First
second place lol
