Great job ! You must have put a lot of hours into that tractor !! Ihad a 1886 bolens and a HT20. Good solid tractors that are worthy of a restoration !

Excellent workmanship on that project. Your fab skills are right up there. Too nice to use, LOL. Really lucked out on that engine. Used diesel engines very hard to come by & that one is a beaut.
The only negative I see is the apparent lack of power steering, somewhat problematic with a loader.
I recently restored a Bolens H-14 with a Johnson 14 loader, pretty much useless because of the steering effort.
I have a newer Duramax diesel with the factory Mitsibushi 3 cyl engine. It is a brute! Not likely to find a loader for it but would be a good unit.
    Again, very nice work.

From what I can see of the pump drive shaft the unjoints are timed wrong, the front yoke is 90 deg off .

Nice project!! Would you please post the suppliers you used for the hydraulics for the loader?

Love it. She looks like it came this way from the factory! I had to go with a Briggs Vanguard 23hp V twin for my 72 Case 446 which had a well worn out Onan 16hp opposed twin. I didn't buy the stupidly overrated and Expensive as hell adaptor kit someone makes on eBay. So I made my own adaptors and mounts for the hydraulic pump and retained the factory PTO manual clutch system. The problem with the Adaptor Kits for these and other makes is always going to be the PTO clutch system. So their solution is to install a electric PTO clutch which are great for something newer?! But it's definitely not the correct way of doing a restoration. If there were still a ready supply of OEM Onan parts, I would have definitely rebuilt the original engine, but there is hardly anything available anymore for them. It was just much more economic and the newer designed engine will have a tendency of leaking a little less over a old worn out Onan would. But outside of the hydraulic pump mounting and the PTO adaptor to run off the flywheel end of the Vanguard, I machined in my garage via a lathe and end mill. The engines mounting holes were almost perfectly match. I believe the 2 rear ones lined up, but it required new holes in the frame for the fronts...... But otherwise Awesome Machine you built there! And yes Love the custom decals as well! Surplus Supply is a wonderful place to go for odd stuff at cheap prices! So very handy and useful stuff too! Thats normally off the walls Expensive from say dumps like Tractor supply garbage over priced sh1t!
