I have always wondered how to take one of those dressing tables apart and make it into two small nightstands. Now I know! Just beautiful. Everything you put on seemed “just perfect” for those pieces and I have to say I really loved the feet.
Holy moly Rachelle!!! She's a real knock out!!! Super colour and the right amount of understated glamour. That foil is worthy of excitement!!! Wish she was coming to my house!⭐❤️
Never imagined that there were such things as foil transfer or rolling bird stencils, or that I could pop off and add to bits as you just did. It is restrained without being gaudy. A true delight to see. Thank you and you birds in the background
And here i was.. thinking that was going to be tacky foil stuck on the top! I apologize now! That fooled me! Or..."foiled again".. (said in a 1950's cartoon voice). Stunning!!! Great choice, girl!!! And the amber mousse was genius!!!
That was a job and a half but they came out beautiful. Good 'ol multi-tool. The foil transfer was a nice surprise, very subtle. Very classy set Rachelle!!🌷🌷
You have turned this vanity into 2 beautiful and unique nightstands. I love the look of the foil on the front. What a fantastic makeover. I'm going to be looking for an old vanity to do a project like this in the near future. Thanks for a great video showing how to transform something old into some new !!
Rachelle ~ You are soooooooo talented!!! What a transformation! They are gorgeous now. I have never even hered of Artistic Painting Studio and that foil was definitely something to get excited about!!! I would love to try it out as well in the future. Thank you for always sharing new things with us!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!! ~Brenden 💞
Wow they came out so much better than I ever thought they would. Hampton Olive. I love those dark greens. I have a steamer trunk I will be painting collard greens with copper gilding wax.
WOWWWWW!!!!! You did an amazing job on these night stands Rachelle. Love the colours and that foil is beyond beautiful. Thanks for this great video as always. 💜
Wow that actually turned out so beautiful, such unique and one of a kind end tables or bedside tables and I can't believe how easy that transfer foil is... WOW😍❣️❣️❣️
Beautiful but I wish you would have shown a longer shot of the finished drawers at the end and a bit longer shot of the finished piece. Your work is always so beautiful!
Aww thanks so much Linda - you can just pause the video if you need a longer look, but feel free to message me on insta if you'd like more photos and I can send you some there :)
These were well worth the hard work; they're absolutely gorgeous!! My takeaway tip is using a paint stripper under the backboard before prising it off so that you don't damage the surface - genius. Where did you get your multi-tool from? It's next on my 'must have' list. And how fabulous are the foils????
Thanks lovely. Yes I got that tip from Ursula a while ago I think. Multi tool was given to me, but I have my eye on a Festool! The foils are crazy good!!!!
That turned out lovely! I love the foil may have to get some of that. I have used aluminium foil decoupaged on a piece I did for my bedroom side table when I lived in Maine in the US I painted the piece white and foiled the top and the bottom of the legs turned out great. I did think it would of looked just as great if I had painted the piece black but that wasn’t the vibe of the room at the time. I have seen foil used on panelling in an old house looked fantastic. May have to explore using it again as well as the ones you just used in this piece. ❤️
OH My Lordy Rachelle. What a great job you did 😜👍 It Looks Gorgeous ❤️❤️ IT Was that Called a foil Transfer 🤔 That’s Brilliant Stuff 👍 Me Gotta Get Some of that 👍 Have a Wonderful Day 🤗
wow so beautiful! love that foil stuff, gonna have to give that a try. and the stencil rollers! again i learn so much from you. thanks for all your videos.
Thanks so much Edythe. You're just one step behind me in the learning process, because this was my first time! I'm pretty sure the bird roller will be a comedy of errors ... but at least it'll be entertaining 🤣
When you said you were going to take it apart, I was shocked! Such a great piece. However the end result is just amazing! I’d love to have these in my home, but I’m in the US and shipping would be awful. 😂 you always do beautiful work.
Hahah ... Yes I would have loved to have kept it in its original condition, but its really only good for decoration in todays modern living, and not many people have that kind of room. Thankfully the friend who gave it to me loved them so much, she took them back, and now it gets to stay in the family! :)
Thanks lovely. I've offered them back to the friend who donated it to me (it was her late grandmothers), and she is over the moon. Feels so good that I was able to make it usable for them in todays modern living, and it can stay with the family. I REALLY enjoyed working on it. She put me through my paces, but I learnt so much. I will definitely be looking for more of these to do.
@@CraftedbyMonnowLane that’s fantastic Rachel. I really enjoyed seeing the deconstruction and repairs. And of course the finishes. That foil is stunning.
Hi I watched your video and it turned out great, but I need to give you some advice on the foil you uses I believe it was Indian Bronze which is a v-mask foil which is anything besides fabric. ALL v- mask foils are very easy release and you do not want it to crumple it up because part will flake off, the best is to roll it backwards or fold it back on itself where the ugly side is on the outside. It will give you a better version of the foil and will not release/flake off as much so you will get more of your pattern onto the piece.
I'll add my comments with everyone else - just BEAUTIFUL! By the way, what did you paint the legs with? They turned out lovely. I enjoy all your videos. Thank you
I haven't been getting your new video notifications even though Im subscribed and hit the bell thankfully I went to your page. I just got screwed on my new living situation I don't have a lot of extra money but I do have some furniture I can redo and get back on track so your videos are important to me and of course I absolutely enjoy watching them I watch the multiple times lol I have no shame 😊
Aww no! You're the second person to say something is wrong with their subscription! Sorry about that. Let me know how you get on with the furniture! Thanks so much for watching 😘
I've done one ... there is a reason I've only done one ... haha! Too big, too awkward, and a hard sell. For me, they're just not a good business decision.
Link is in the description to Artistic Painting Studio. I had it sent from the US but I believe there will be stockists in AU soon. Maybe send them a comment asking :)
I really dislike when people chop up antique furniture. Boo who! Sorry but each to their own, I know! 🇨🇦🥴😪😓. I must admit, even though they are very deep for bedside tables, they look quite pretty! Thanks!
Thanks Linda. No need to apologise. I am right there with you! This is actually vintage rather than antique (less than 100 years old), but I would absolutely have saved it if I could, and if it was usable. A friend passed it on to me to refurbish and sell for RizeUp (it was her nans,) and before I touched it I showed her the damage etc and told her my ideas. She was happy to make the change (I wanted to be respectful to the piece, and her Nan). When I finished it, I sent her the photos and the link to the video, and she was over the moon. I offered it back to her (at no cost of course) so she had her Nans furniture back in the family, but with another layer of history, and a video to show that new layer. She is due to pick them back up tomorrow. I told her that her nan would have been laughing at me with each stage as this girl really made me work hard ... plus it was hiding some not so nice redback spiders in its crevices hahah. Wow, that was a long reply for a short comment haha. Have an awesome day!
@@CraftedbyMonnowLane you are very welcome. I enjoy your humour and i commiserate when you said you get migraines. I had them severely for 45 years. Oh wow! I've heard other channels mention it too, but I've never heard of it happening on my channel. I have absolutely no idea why! So strange ... and annoying!
Very sad to see a rare vanity destroyed. Someone out there would love the old girl. I know quite a few who are into that look. Very sad. Colors were great but would rather have seen the refinished vanity.
Looks wonderful and great video!!!
Thanks so much for the amazing products!!
I have always wondered how to take one of those dressing tables apart and make it into two small nightstands. Now I know! Just beautiful. Everything you put on seemed “just perfect” for those pieces and I have to say I really loved the feet.
Thanks so much Judy. Yes the feet turned out ok didn't they?

Thanks so much Cath. Yes, this girl tested me for sure but I enjoyed every minute of it! :)
They look gorgeous! I wasn't sure if I'd like the embellishment on the corners but you were absolutely right in doing that. Perfect nightstands!
Thanks Roberta! I'm never sure either! Fake it till you make it I say 🤣

Thanks so much Julie. I used the Gemstone mousse on those too - same as on the handles and woodubend :)
Love this! Did you say you sealed the. Drawers or the body?
Just the drawer fronts because the foil needs sealing. I sealed with Dixie Belle satin clear coat.
