- Wild, rugged mountainscapes, Cyprus pines and Yellow footed rock wallabies - where else but the Flinders Ranges! Join us on our expedition through this iconic destination. We commence the episode in Port Augusta and head north to the Flinders Ranges National Park. We then head down the ranges to Mount Remarkable and the Alligator Gorge.
The Flinders is where the journey truly is the destination!
Great part of our world hey. I was up that way a few months back, went up Stony Creek Tk just out of Wilmington, crazy you spotted a Goanna, it was the first time I've seen a bloody Goanna, the bugger ran across the track and sat head high on a tree. I was met with the locked gate too, such a shame as the map shows there's some camp site further up. All too common here in SA to be faced with locked bloody gates.
Yes, it's a great part of the county. So many places in the flinders are locked up altogether, or lock-up and sub-contracted to private 4wding companies to conduct tag-along tours. I didn't say anything in the video but I think this is a disgrace really. National parks should be open to all of us - we all pay for them!
