  • This video explains in detail the semi-conservative nature of DNA replication and how DNA replication occurs. Students will learn how the nucleotides pair up in DNA and RNA and will also learn about the different enzymes involved in the DNA replication process.

    Hey Dr Demi i don’t understand what the point of the RNA primers are if we’re talking about DNA replication - can you please explain why there’s RNA involved in DNA replication.

    Hey
    What’s the role of the nucleoside triphosphates then.. Are they the same as RNA primers?

    hi Dr Demi i dont understand like our bopok is written that there is DNA ligase
    .....is it the same as pimosome

    • @biowithdrdemi
      @biowithdrdemi  ปีที่แล้ว

      No it's not. The primosome creates RNA primers but that's beyond the scope of the syllabus.

    Hello!
    On the DNA replication, the 3rd bulletin point, Is it leading strand in a 5' to 3' direction or 3' to 5' direction.
    Since you mentioned LEADING STRAND, I suppose its 3' to 5'.
    Thank you.

    • @biowithdrdemi
      @biowithdrdemi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sarah, yes the leading strand is 3' to 5'

    • @owaisahmed5265
      @owaisahmed5265 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So DNA polymerase runs in opposite direction of leading strand?

    • @chrissycoolcat
      @chrissycoolcat 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@biowithdrdemi isnt it 5' to 3'?

    Heyyy , are we required to know how to draw/identify the different bases by their structures such as adenine , cytosine etc

    • @biowithdrdemi
      @biowithdrdemi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you should be about to identify them. I've never seen a question where you're asked to draw them

  • @flawedoptimist5812
    @flawedoptimist5812 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi ! I had a question are your lectures according to the new syllabus? (2022?)

    • @biowithdrdemi
      @biowithdrdemi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The differences are very few. Things have been taken out of the new syllabus, nothing new has been added so the videos still cover everything you should know.
