Real Question: if the tyre did indeed kiss the arch due to spacers, I've seen it happen on friends cars, surely the underside (not the back but the part facing the tyre) of the arch would have needed stripping back and repainting too, wouldn't it?

Great job , exactly the same thing happened on my Audi but I couldn’t find anyone in the area who would do a smart repair on it so I had to use a Bodyshop .

That damage is from rolling the arch and not to do with the spacers IMO. I expect they rolled the arches due to wheels rubbing. If you don’t roll an arch correctly it will crack the paint whilst trying to bend the metal lip. Good job done 👌

That’s a nice job I’ve had smart repairs and PDR before that would make your eyes water. Like I said in a comment it’s realistic to expect about a 90-95% outcome considering it’s done on a driveway in the elements and you are blending in a small section. No one will look twice at it now and it looks factory finish but if there is a blemish then the eye is always drawn to it as a owner. That’s when you think you should have spent a lot more getting the whole panel done and even then it might not match in colour and finish 100%. No I’d be more than happy with what you achieved there and you are very meticulous. 👍

Hi. Seamless 👍. I am curious to see that you can polish not long after you have clear coated. I have been led to believe the clear would still be soft for a week or so, but hasn't affected your process.

Shame they didn’t show us a close up of the paint texture versus the whole rear wing. That is the most important part of any job. Not just the colour match.
To be honest it looked decent and any orange peel will have been reduced with that wet sanding. As a customer I think expecting a smart repair to give a 90-95% end result is about right. You can see a slight imperfection 3/4 of the way around the blended arch line but it looks far far better than before and as a fussy person I’d be happy with it because next week someone will probably open a door on it in Asda’s anyway 🤣

The prep work is amazing. The outcome is excellent. Especially impressive considering you are mobile and don't have the benefit and convivences of all the gadgets and booths of a shop. Very well done. How long did that repair take start to finish?

Job looks fine mate but I’m unsure about painting a car outside let alone a nice car like that. Can you really replicate a paintshop and oven on someone’s driveway in the open air and get the same quality job? Please don’t think I’m hating on you because the job looks spot on, I definitely think an opinion from a painter with a shop and booth would be helpful, interesting and most definitely of value. 👍

When you shot base you removed the back mask? Then when applying lacquer it was taped again? Also did you use fade out ?
