@LAST CALL I don't believe so, You can get certified but it's not essential. As long as you are set up as a proper company with the right insurance policies in place etc, you are good to go. Maybe some insurance companies or car dealerships may require a certification but I don't do work for any of those organisations so wouldn't know.

At the dealership I worked on the outskirts of Chicago in 2003, the manager of the dealership had such an eye for any body with that was done in any vehicle back then. He could just tell on sight if there has ever been damage and what have been done to fix the damage. This woulda given him a run for his money right here. Very nice job!

I have done pdr for 22 years. I have designed the perfect pdr hammer. None of the tap/hammer combos seem right. Couldn't live without homemade hammers.

I’ve tried taking out small dents but it’s so hard! It’s scary. I’m afraid to make them worse. So I stop halfway. I think using these tools will make it a lot easier. I’m going to checkout your videos on these types of dents.
If it was me doing that, I'd call it done after the 1st stage.. But i wanna learn how to bend back a dent to perfection and not just flopping it back and forth. This video served me just that.. Thanks man.

I'm a panel beater/sprayer and while I do 99% of the knocking out I then go and throw filler at it, been doing the same for 38yrs! I think I will give paintless a go when the right sort of job comes in, I know I can get most of the way with just bits of wood but I'll have to make a few tools up. Excellent video.
Thanks Richard! yes give it a try, that's how I started back when I was a panel beater and the best thing about being a panel beater is that you have nothing to lose by trying to use PDR because if you don't get it right, you were going to fill it anyway! After a lot of practice I was able to start finishing my repairs without using filler and save it from being painted. Its also good to be able to use the PDR techniques even if you are still going to fill it as it still helps reduce the amount of filler you need and can speed up your repairs! With your vast experience I'm sure you would get a feel for it quite quickly 👍

The reflection of the bricks from the building are a true testament to a great pdr repair! Looks like that front bumper was repainted at some point or horribly matched from the factory.
These videos are becoming hypnotic, for years my wife had her own body shop repairer, which invariably paint and filler and huge expense, the paint never seemed to be as good as the original finish, couldn’t afford a MD dealer prices as a matter of principle would get an opinion from a master dent remover first.
Great repair and video. You keep me mindful of process. somaimes we can get in auto pilot mode. I switched to a leather faced paddle months ago. never go back ro a dead blow. keep it up!!!

I’m a painter but been intrigued by the PDR trade as it is an awesome tool to have under your belt but have never found someone willing to teach when i had the money. I am a perfectionist and take that very serious on whatever project i do and can see that you’re one of a kind too in your trade! There are schools here but it takes a long time and it depends on the teacher you get. I wanted to get someone who really did work with it like you do. Your system is so precise and gives results so quick. I’ve seen guys doing it but they were volume PDR guys who could do 50 cats in one parking lot at $50 a piece, you do the math, but i was looking for precision and finesse comparable to the level i did on my painting and never found anyone like you. I work in a body shop. Just today, 5 or 6 hours ago, a PDR shop told my boss that they didn’t think they could take the two inch round dent out of the door of a 1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme.
@@crobx4 I once looked at a 1950 Packard, and the doors on that car were as heavy as a bank vault door. Even with my '61 Studebaker, it is possible to work the metal, but it is sure a workout.

I've been doin body work for 29 years and i never buy any tools. Good thing i used to watch Mcgyver back on the days that's how i learned how to fabricate and improvised all my tools if you know what i mean!!! PS I have the privilage to trained with Toyota , Ashton Martin and Mercedez benz body repair technician. For me only novice or amatuer buy tools.

Yes, there is nothing like bespoke hand made tools, I have quite a few and have quite a few ideas for new tools I want to make. 👍

I'm a 25 year PDR tech, and I've done some PDR on my '57 Chevy. Talk about real metal. It is possible.
