The Spotify version is doubled, where the episode starts over at around 15 minutes and then it plays the whole episode and then picks back up where it left off the first time
Was coming here to comment the same thing
same! i was driving while listening and was so confused
I think the best way out of the groomsman dilemma is just make him a groomsman 😂
We need David Dang to come on and finish out Maggie's copper hair saga!
Henna is defs not temporary. 😅😅😅 if you do it once it won’t come out, it does fade, but it doesn’t come out.
Raw truth, you guys need to work on your titles. I almost didn't listen in because the title wasn't appealing to me but my favorite episodes are these that have your advice column. Please make a segment name and include in the video title!
On apple podcasts, the episode is 1h25m and repeats itself around the 15 minute mark!
Thank you so much for letting me know!! It was an issue with the backend- should be fixed now but let me know if it's not working for ya :)
Same thing is still happening on the app Overcast!
Henna really doesn't wash out, it fades like an ink stain. It can also build up on the ends with repeated applications. It is all natural, just a ground up plant, so be careful to not breathe in the powder if you're allergic.
that's the case for natural henna but nowadays a lot of henna are chemical/synthetic henna which can wash out
My mind is definitely delusional about my age. At 58 my brain still thinks I'm still in my 20's 😂
WELL SHIT. Good to know that this doesn't go away (I'm 27 with the maturity of a 15 year old or so some days and a 40 year old on others) 😂 I mean, I should've kinda guessed bc my now-deceased mom would've been roughly your age if she were still alive & had a VERY similar mindset. I'm happy to see there's a variety of age groups watching tho 💜💜💜
Edit: should clarify, by no means am I calling you old, my mom died pre-50, so she died EARLY. Just wanted to be clear just in case (I know the whole age thing can be weird 😂)
i automatically say im 25 😂😂😂 even though that was years ago
Same. I only realise I'm in my forties when I see my reflection. Full on delulu over here 😁
46 and I sometimes think I can hang with friends in their 20’s…and I totally can’t.
Rainie’s delusion is that it’s always the weather for shorts and a vest top!
God I could listen to Matthew read things for HOURS
The henna is not temporary it is a permanent natural dye it will not just wash out
The listener with conservative parents who is secretly dating: They're not gonna see you as your own person until you set boundaries. You have to be your own person. 18 is still FRESH into adulthood, so it won't happen over night. You just have to live your life, make your own decisions, date this boy, and they'll either be on board or they won't hear from you. And that sounds harsh if you grew up in that environment, but you have to set boundaries.
I didn't engage in sex with another person until I was 27. The only piece of advice I can give is find out what you like; it's easier to communicate with potential partners later. Self-exploration is important and the internet can be very helpful, iykyk. Also, this is easier said than done, but throw self consciousness out the window. Nobody knows everything about sex so if you can laugh about it in the moment, be open and honest about what you want and like, then you're doing just fine.
Hey! There are a few different Henna colours. You get tints so look out for the colour you want, anything from brown to red to black. Love the podcast!🎉
100% BAQ henna on it's own won't give different colors. If you have dark hair, it will give you reddish to reddish brown highlights. You have to add indigo powder to 100% BAQ henna to get black using the one or two step process. You can add amla powder to the BAQ henna to reduce some of the redness. It's important to do your research and strand tests.
maggie is SLAYING that outfit
MAGGIE DO COPPER, I think it would suit you sooooo well. Dark eyebrows would be a slay with it.
Why isn't an actual groomsman doing these chores? I can see how he'd think he was part of the wedding when he's being used for wedding responsibilities
I agree, I feel like they didn't say that at all. Those sound like groomsman tasks.
Unfortunately there really does seem to be a stigma with dating that if you're in your 20s and haven't started yet then there's something wrong with you. Idk why, but it's frustrating.
Maggie can you talk about being with someone with chronic pain? How do you cope? How do you support? Difficulties? Strategies?
She talked about this on the previous pod. Can’t remember what episode tho. But she say that having open communication helps with dealing with it.
(If anyone found it. Kindly put the episode. Coz I go back and forth with The Trypod and YCSWU so i forgot the title but I'm 100% sure Maggie talked about it before)
Henna is great for covering up white hair and blends it into the hair, especially darker hair, making it look like highlights. but note, different hair will absorb henna differently, so everyone's hair will turn out different. I've been using henna on my hair for 20 over years. try Indian grocery stores, they should have Henna there.
I used BAQ henna to cover my grey. Make sure that you use quality 100% henna.
The podcast uploaded to Spotify is messed up! Pleas check the audio that was uploaded!
Rachel needs to get back on the pod
Becky said that that's in the works.
Maggie being the rebellious child and saying she felt like she's the older sister is the most younger sister behavior ever 😂
For Maggie: As someone who has used henna for years, I use Rainbow Henna and they have a bunch of different shades to choose from.
My go to when I used to use dating apps was top 5 Deserted Island musicians. Meaning, if you could only listen to 5 musicians for the rest of your life and no one else, who would you choose. I asked that question to my fiance when we met on Bumble and we're getting married in September. Our 5-year anniversary was a couple of days ago.
Maggie will look soo good in copper!
Can we have Courtney (of Kwesi & Courtney) on an episode? Or has she already been on an episode and I missed it somehow? If she doesn’t want to be on camera, then no worries. Kwesi is such an outgoing, enigmatic person, I’m curious to see if Courtney balances him out or if they’re two peas in a pod. 😄
Maggie's delulu: sounds just like, "If Anne had been more healthy, she woould have been very proficient at...." from Pride and Prejudice! XD
35:30. For the strict parents I agree with both Maggie and Matt. I’m the same age dealing with the same situation. My strict parents are the way they are because of the past mistakes they’ve made at my age. They often forget that we are different people. So I’d recommend a soft and slow launch. A soft launch will prepare the parent to know what to expect. And hopefully in a year or so they’ll be more accepting.
(Just my thoughts on the situation!🥰)
I like that! I definitely did that when it came to me coming out to my parents as queer. I'd toss in a comment here and there, then gave the big news to my dad first before my mom. Luckily it worked out well, and our relationship has gotten better ever since. Wish this person luck! And hopefully they won't have to live with their parents while going to school for too long either! That would probably make things worse
Henna can stink when applying it’s also a difficult texture to work with so if you use it add yogurt to make it apply better. Also Maggie’s hair is pretty dark for any kind of dye so it’s possible you may need to lighten it a little before dying but lighting a little shouldn’t damage too much. Also dark eyebrows and copper hair is a 10/10 look
Omg where is Maggie’s scarf from? It’s perrrrrrf 💜💛💚🧡
When using henna make sure you do your research and use quality BAQ henna. Women have been using henna in their hair for years. It's usually using henna with PPD and other chemical that causes damage. Khadija Carryl is an excellent source for proper usage of henna. I have used BAQ henna for years to cover my grey hair.
That person who is talking crap/letting their SO talk crap about their friend totally does that about other people too. So trust me, anyone who is around them all the time would notice that and even be treated the same way. So eventually no one is going to take anything that the SO or her says seriously.
Hi, I color my hair with red/aubry Henna, the cool thing is that it washes out slowly and it doesn't make hard lines. My natural hair color is a dark blond so people assume it's my natural haircolor😊 and you don't see the roots. I usually color my hair 2-3 times a year. I do it my selfe. You have to be careful which henna bran you use. Alot of them have harmful and cancerous chemicals in them. They did a safety test (here in Switzerland) and only one or two brand passed it from about 10 different brands. I use a french brand, should be safe.
Love from Switzerland
We want to see Maggie‘s Coffee Shop at the office!! With Miles?
I do a bleach bath on my hair and brows. It’s super gentle and easy to go. Tablespoon of bleach. Tablespoon of developer. Add in as much shampoo as you need to lather your hair VERY well. Leave 10-20 min. I do 5 min on my brows. Makes me a perfect copper color. My hair is Maggie’s darkness naturally.
Just an fyi…Tader Joes has the BEST frozen croissant and chocolate croissants 😉 you leave them out the night before, they rise….and then you bake the next morning…buttery and flaky and just absolutely DELICIOUS 🤤
My sister definitely ended up with green hair from henna, so I’m glad that caveat was shared.
I didn't have sex until I was 26 and I wasn't interested in sex until my mid 20s either. I'm demisexual so I don't think dating apps would work for me so I luckily met my now husband through my friend.
So my tip is make more friends (I say this as a shy introvert lol).
Join meetups for hobbies or interests you are curious about. Go to have fun, not to find someone so you don't have that pressure.
loving the relaxing calm vibes from this duo today
I wouldn’t ever mess with henna hair dye. Just go copper the regular way. Henna is NOT WORTH IT
Matt is GLOSSYYY
right? Finding it hard to concentrate!
It's funny to hear you talk about young people defying parents, as you're assuming that parents will continue to support their children no matter what. In the early 80's I had a friend whose parents decided it was time for him to get married. He was 19 or 20. They made the arrangements, and when he refused to marry someone he'd never met, they kicked him out. He had to drop out of college and start from scratch on his own. Remember, not all your listeners are in the U.S. nor is everyone in the U.S. bought in to the culture here.
The Spotify version is wonky ya’ll!
Maggie! My delusional age is 26 also lol idk why! I’m gonna be 36 this year lol
I definitely have to tell people my goals, or else they just stay in the aether of my mind and will never be finished lol. Interesting to hear that for some it's the opposite!
Maggie, im with ya, as the Chaos Monster second child of my fam, fellow devil child sending love lol
You need to be super careful when using henna. Some of the processed stuff can be really damaging and turn your hair wiry and completely orange. But in my experience fresh henna plucked straight from the tree and turned into a paste works quite well. Women in my family have been using it for years to keep their hair silky and smooth. The color is also a lot more subtle if you use it on dark hair. Like it'll give your hair an orange glow of sorts but won't turn it fully ginger.
My age delusion is the opposite of Matt’s, I’m 25 but in my mind I’m def an 84 year old lady
I get that, mentally I'm still 23, because that's when I went through some major family trauma and I will not being moving past 30 this year, thank you : - ) lol
I mean if Kevin's friend was important enough to bring to important wedding stuff, why isn't he already a groom's men? But also never assume something if you haven't heard it yourself, hello? lol
Which episode is the excema story?
I’m pretty sure it’s “reacting to insane Reddit stories” episode 181 from a few weeks ago
Why am I early. LOL
Oh no no. Girl. I’m Indian and please don’t use HENNA in your hair. It’ll become SOOOO ORANGE and it’ll be damaging in the long run.
That wasn't true for me or a lot of other women who have used henna for years. I always used BAQ quality henna.
Omg please don’t put henna in your hair. It turns freaking orange if you use certain types of henna vs others. It also changes your hair texture
