We actually get upgrades instead of downgrades? I'm not used to this...
+wallpaper42 What? You never saw console exclusives before?
wallpaper42 thats the demo, the final product... Hum downgrade
@@carlos-m20 lol no the final looks batter
Ubisoft should take a lesson from naughty dog.
They never learn and never will
even CD projekt red....
+Andras Szocs No they had no reason whatsoever to downgrade it on PC....
truth
+San Mattew blame that on Xbox...paying ubisoft for spec equality...
Whoa. It's... like... the image quality actually... became better, rather than worse. I guess Ubisoft just has it backwards.
There's some components I like in both versions.
213213yoyo The point is, though, that they didn't downgrade the visuals from a technical standpoint. They were purely artistically changes, and a few technical facets improved.
+Pan Z the demo looks more realistic
kamrin miller Not really. The skin on the character models doesn't interact with light correctly, and the lighting is more harsh rather than soft
+Pan Z you're right, it does look better
Naughty Dog is the easily the most respected game developer in the business today, and has been for quite some time!
+xDead-Among-UsX cd project red ?! Just for one game everybody are wetting their panties for ?! I really need to play W3 and see for myself why all this fuss is about
+GNETWORK UL The whitcher is overated shit m8. Bad story and terrible combat.
+Nintendo Impact Gaming! CDPR are certainly the best dev out there at this time, but ND are up there.
+Donald Drumpf *best large dev. There are plenty of awesome tiny developers.
+Donald Drumpf I think its a tie between the two of them. They are both neck and neck in graphics, storytelling etc. But if I had to give an edge to anyone, Naughty Dog would get it for game design and gameplay. The Witcher 3 suffers slightly in both those departments.
when a game actually meet expectations.
+Alvin Buenaventura Eh, I was expecting even a tiny amount of anisotropic filtering. Consoles never fail to disappoint me.
+Alvin Buenaventura In some ways it even surpassed them
Most of the fight in the Jungle Encounter is actually very easy to replicate. I was doing this exact same test today Digital Foundry.
The one enemy placement that I did find entirely different were the two guards having a conversation underneath a natural archway. These two are closer to the edge of the mountain rather than underneath the archway like in the demo, making it slightly different to drop down and attack after being spotted.
However, you can still jump off the rock and swing around to knock out the guard below, then steal his weapon and shoot the guard directly behind you. That is all identical to the demo.
Also, you can grab the first guard from behind cover and steal his gun fluidly, but more high grass was added to the final map, making it so drake crouches in this area and changes the animation.
yo
Bit late now
God I love this game. It's been a blast to play!
Almost.
+SlimCargo quantum break is 5 hours LOL
SlimCargo uncharted 4 is 16 hours and it also has mp, and lots of replaybility on the sp, plus multiple modifiers for the game like filters, cheats etc
Quantum break is just shit
+The Avid Gamer i like it :( could have done with a few more maps tho
+Bob Daguy they will release free maps, new weapons and relics.
You forgot to mention that in the demo, the car's tire treads don't get clogged with mud.
+Freako Fancy seeing you here!
ELLLIEEEEE
So is this game good or not? haha
Yo freako
Who came here after watching the ubisoft downgrades video?
that is so weird that is literally what I did😂😂😂
mind reader?
just how?!
woah dude....
Me xD
The game looks even better than e3.
Ubisoft are you watching this.
Are you crazy? 😂 it does not.
+I Fuzion xPro I It looks better.
+SolidSnake The E3 2014 footage looks better than the final game, a lot better.
+I Fuzion xPro I It does not look a lot better. Did you watch the video at all. He said is looks minutely better at the end and said later that the final game comes extremely close. And during the rest he said, lighting got better and motion blur and even the foliage got a graphics bump. the final game looks the best out of the others. The 2014 part doesn't exist so they used a different scene with different lighting.
This game only improved in graphics keep lying to yourself.
+SolidSnake Maybe but the E3 2014 footage did look a LOT better (you have got to be blind if you don't see a huge difference) so Naughty Dog and Sony lied to you, right up your face.
So much respect for Naughty Dog - the absolute passion, effort and attention to detail in their games is astonishing. Ubisoft, Activision, EA - take a lesson from them. They KEEP their promises of what they promote.
+HIvanH91 Agreed. This is one instance in which a game actually got better, from the demos shown. I will never forget seeing watch dogs being shown off for the first time. And although the new doom is fantastic. The live demo that was shown a while back was a lie. :(
+1 for Naughty Dog. The games company that has never put a foot wrong. :)
+Cartoon Mikeez Uncharted 3 was pretty massively downgraded though
Marth Shepard I also disagree, I think it looked a lot better in it's final release.
***** And what about the ai in The Last of Us. Not a graphical downgrade but still not what was shown
+Marth Shepard True, The Last of us was MASSIVELY downgraded compared to the E3 2012 demo, but that's probably the only Naughty Dog game that had an actual downgrade of that scale and that's probably because of hardware limitations, if the game had been developed and programmed for the PS4, I'm sure the final game would've been the same as the demo.
Thank Christ, the daily DF Uncharted video is up
Can't wait until tomorrow's
+Michael White Dude, DF do like a dozen videos for every major release; Quantum Break, Witcher 3, Fallout 4, Halo 5, everything. Is there some sort of bias against Uncharted you'd like to admit?
+Rioplats Ha, no bias, as with all my comments here it wasn't actually intended to be taken seriously
Michael White Lol fair enough :P
Hate to disappoint but...this is the last UC4 video. *sniff* It's been fun. Next stop? Doom.
Stop at 6:03... The difference is night and day...
Final game looks so much better !!
+samar kidwai yeah Final is way better
Depends theres, i like the final game more but you can tell there is compromises for other things like at 6:03, the girl in the pink toned sweater, much more detail in the demo, same for the guy sitting next to the fruits.
+NextGenNate yeah, also the water physics in the cave section looks a little bit toned down ...
And that irregular water splashes...
but go to 6:20 and also notice how much Nate's interactivity with the crowd has been changed, his movements look a lot less natural than at E
It is not a downgrade but, instead it is an upgrade to the game.We can trust Naughty Dog.
Madhur Anand i agree
Madhur Anand can't wait for the last of us 2 , with their new engine and the PS4 pro, the graphics are going to be amazing
ayaan bazaz one of the best games I’ve ever played
Don't know about you guys, but I think the final game looks absolutely fenomenal, even better than the demos.
+Gus Buster it does, its so beautiful
+Gus Buster I don't know how they have done it. It looks so good!
+Gus Buster yea! it's even better than the demo.. especially the lighting... Gosh, i cant believe Naughty Dog managed to do this..
+Gus Buster 2 things stood out to me: rocks are less shiny, there was no dust in the beginning of the last clip start, which looked really cool in the demo
I very much disagree with almost everything that was said in this comparison, the demo most of the time has better texure, skin tones sometimes better light, with some omissions, and felt more fluid in motion.
+Marcelo Tezza the light was because it had big specular maps on everything. same with textures the 2014 demo had no LOD levels.
Instead of performing a huge graphics downgrade they made trade offs, made things you pay more attention to better and things with leas attention compromised to make something else better.
Something like that takes time and detailed work, but Ubisoft would just downgrade every part of the game.
Naughty dog slowly pieces there games together like a master piece.
+NextGenNate Not to be the devil's advocate but it's much easier to focus in only one platform than PS4/Xbox 1 and the various PC specs.
+DeathToCockroaches yes of course, bit x1 and pc exclusives dont look this well polished.
+NextGenNate That's because Naughty Dog has been developing this game since The Last of Us released, so 3 and a half years.
+Samuel Herrera actually, since 2014. It's been in work since 2013 yes, however, the original director left mid-2014, resulting in the whole script being scrapped, that meant they had to restart everything.
MonkeyTheOfficial Yes, but we are talking about the graphics.
They toned some things down while bringing some things up, & they look to be nice trade offs. This is weird, im used to seeing my hopes & dreams shatter. Why the fuck cant more companies do this?
Because Naughty Dog is the best.
+CB
Also because it's a PS4 exclusive, which from what I've seen usually either never has downgrades, or the downgrades are very small, whereas other games have to work on a variety of different hardware and different qualities, so a lot more compromises have to be made. Of course the same can be said with PC exclusives as well.
Wait, a game that actually looks better than what they showed at e3?! I'm so use to being deceived, what a nice change :D
Thank you! At least someone is right, PC and Xbox fan boys just come here to bitch and nitpick at this.
+Jamie Robert im a pc fan but i also have a ps4 and i think what they pulled off is astonishing
JaG wish people would all just agree and stop being in denial all the time lol
+Jamie Robert True its not worth fighting when all we're getting is good games.
+Suicide Gaming It's true but it was never that impressive in the first place. Witcher 3 even downgraded shits on those graphics at ultra. c1.staticflickr.com/9/8753/17129873413_6a115bef39_b.jpg
Its so hilarious to see ubisoft getting trolled in comment section...But yeah they deserves it they always downgrade their game's graphics
You mean Watch Dogs 2?
Frag Wall No almost every game of ubisoft...They always downgrade
Shaikh sajid Azmi I meant Watch Dogs 2 is the latest product that will be another visual downgrade victim.
+Frag Wall Yeah...I think so that they will also downgrade watch dogs 2
Frag Wall watch dogs 2 at e3 was good but not that good, the graphics didn't amazed me at all...Just wondering if they'll downgrade it...How shitty it will look!!!
When demos are actually demos working in progress, instead of better version of the actual game, *cough watch dogs cough*
Another thing I notice is that in the demo when the jeep switches into that cutscene 9:53 the anteanne suddenly just goes stiff but in the final game the anteanne will continue swinging realtime as it transitions into that cutscene.
Wow. That runs on a freaking PS4? Just, wow. Naughty Dog really are masters of optimization, must have some serious in-house engineering talent over there.
Damn, I really need to get this game. Sucks that my RSI is acting up right now, though, probably going to have to wait a month or so.
+Simon Larsén They need to work on Quantm Break PC LOL JK
I guess it's just me, but every scene here I found myself liking the lighting more in the 2014 demo than any of the others.
Do not scroll down if you do not want to see fanboys hating on this game just cuz they don't have it on their system.
every section is full of shit with those fanboys.
buubuuubuubuuuutt I want it on PC.
furiousgun nothing to hate on buddy the shit sucks climb and climb I was about to lose my mind also buildings build in edges lol also what's up with the enemy's with heavy armor on top of the hills like wtf 🙄 they chase you and climb with zero issues this game is fucking stupid
@@w3r0ification what the fuck ? I hate every shooting game ever becuase you just shoot and shoot I am bored of that crap
looks like the psx demo was using the same engine build as TLOU Remaster. while the final game used a more next gen build with focus on PBR and dynamic lighting
First when i saw the Madagascar chase sequence. I thought that it will be downgraded drasticly. When i popped the disc in my ps4. I was shocked to see how good does the game looked
Never seen such hype for a film.
+EMARCEUS gaming well you missed starwars
btw nice joke i guess
cry
obviously a troll, what kind of human being doesn't like uncharted.
+Hamad Al-Hajri People who, you know, actually love videogames.
God save us all if this interactive movie trend sticks.
+Thiago silveira uncharted is a perfect game and it does not lack anything. go back to fifa and black ops 3.
And it's finally coming on PC in 2022 😊💗
i will keep my comment as a memory, thank you Digital Foundry for amazing Video i watched it back in 2016 and in 2021 again!
ND know how to fully utilise and squeeze every last drop out of their devkits. Even on the PS3 the visual quality in all the uncharted games and The Last of Us are the pinnacle of graphical fidelity compared to a lot of other big titles games, Battlefield, CoD, Assassins Creed. They are 100% sufficient with their software due to working with it so much. They know how to make a game.
ubisoft should learn from this, an actual game that is better in the final version than tech demo? science finction for pc users...
kahnsealable nah bro, it's an upgrade if you actually pay attention
Alan George not completely. There are clear downgrades as there are clear changes and some minor upgrades.
Tierre Jevon So the trick is to fool everyone by purposefully have a downgraded demo from the start to show. So when the final comes out there are no whiney bitches. Done.
I like the Demo coloration more than the final game one. It looks more realistic and not like a cartoon.
+Chiriac Puiu Maybe in the cave, but in other locations the final game coloration, is too yellowish IMHO.
+Marco Ak
They're outside in the sun. The demo lighting looked unnaturally blue.
+Tekanova definitely, but I prefer blueish grey caves and rock to greenish yellow caves and rock personally
Chiriac Puiu the characters definitely look more realistic, but couldn't they have changed the colour of the characters and environments separately?
Chiriac Puiu oh ok. I wonder what they'd really be capable of if they had enough time...
It's cool to see that some things in the final version are better while others were better in the demo. Interesting stuff.
Great video.
Imagine how cool it would be if they made an Uncharted game.
Wow.
+DSD Movies Now that would be cool.
+DSD Movies That would be pretty cool. Hey Naughty Dog did you hear that? Make an Uncharted game already!!!!
+SuperSaiyan3985 they're just trolling, saying that the game is a movie.
I prefer the look of the demo (I prefer the lighting and less blurring). I think the final game overused the motion blur...while the game is amazing looking, once you get moving, it's not nearly as nice to look at IMO.
+bobbyteenager4e LOL....just got to the part when you talk about the commenters will be yelling about Motion Blur. They're right though! It's awful! Why don't they give us the option to turn off?
+bobbyteenager4e Well, I fully respect your opinion but from my knowledge, Uncharted 4 runs at 30 fps but without a simple motion blur, it looks a bit harsh. I agree with your for preferring lesser motion blur like in the demo but the lighting I prefer the final version because it gives more better contrast and makes the visual more realistic.
I'd like for console developers to give us more of a say in these things though. Witcher 3 gave us options on Blur. That new Team Ninja game even gives us Framerate and Resolution options. Maybe with PS4 Neo coming, it'll become more commonplace
+Antonio Ilardo I game on PC, XboxOne, PS4, and Wii U. I LOVE gaming. If you have the means, only a fool would stick to one format. Uncharted is ONLY for PS4...I'd like graphical settings for it (and most console games!)
The PSX 2014 demo looks more sharp in my eyes and you have a better view of distance objects. I suppose ND needed to make some compromises to keep the 30fps rock solid.
wow I felt like df was actually enjoying while analyzing the game. Most of the time he was saying "IMPROVED in the final game" which at the time gave me a fantastic feel. Good Job Naughty Dog.
Both great, although I gotta say I preferred the demo at 5:01 simply because that was my fav part where I actually said "wow!" when I first saw it. Especially 5:14 but sadly he skipped that and started climbing.
Both look amazing obviously but 5:14 the demo is quite abit better graphically.
Generally prefer how it looks in the final game, yes there's some features from the demo's that would have been nice but Naughty Dog have done very well, if anything it's an upgrade in some eyes.
+Sackboy612 more like an upgrade in fanboy eyes.
KP-48 Interesting, because i'm not a fanboy. Far from it actually, I criticise Naughty Dog a lot, and think the last of us is overrated, not saying that justifies it but you can't help but say that there are "upgrades" depending on how you would prefer to see it, I personally prefer the colour gamma used in the final game compared to the trailers, but that's just me, i'm not a fanboy.
Sackboy612 I like tlou I don't see why it is overrated.
and I'm not saying the final look bad it is just not an upgrade more like optimizations and little tweaks
but I still like the demo graphics more.
+KP-48 Well to each their own then.
***** exactly!.
"Infamous" - I do not think that word means what you think it means.
Also, no it was not pre-rendered even back then. There are many ways you can tell. Check out NXGamer's analysis of the original trailer.
+Trogdor8freebird NXGamer is on Point! I go to him 1st before these guys
I love me some motion blur as well! Motion blur is just giving your eyes the information about what's happening between frames. Your eyes actually expect this information, and lacking that information, motion looks more like a series of still images, rather than moving objects. That's why motion blur always makes an image feel much smoother and more life like than without it. I'd gladly accept a mostly unnoticeable difference in clarity for a much more lifelike image. Even at 60fps, motion blur makes a massive difference in smoothness. Just look at MGS5 on console. 60fps plus motion blur almost looks like 120fps+
+Andy Gilleand I thumbed this comment down and then thought I should really say why. I can't stand the motion Blur in this game. It's so over powering. Any movement and the whole screen just becomes a blur. I Usually play on PC so I turn off or set motion blur to low. I only have a PS4 for exclusives. Ironically My favourite games are PS4 only though haha
This game looks insane and I have no idea how Naughty Dog pull of graphics like they do on such old hardware. But they do and I love them for it!
+Matthew Williams "It's so over powering. Any movement and the whole screen just becomes a blur."
I highly disagree with that statement. That's only true if you're twitching the camera around like a maniac. This isn't meant to be played like a twitch shooter, the way you might on PC with a mouse. Think of the camera control like you're a movie camera man. For most of the gameplay, make slow sweeping camera movements, only making somewhat faster movements while shooting, but even then, don't overdo it. It might even be a good idea to reduce camera sensitivity if you can't control yourself. Motion blur is only really ever noticeable when the camera is whipping around like crazy.
I have found myself using the camera as slow as possible to reduce the motion blur while walking around. But if you're use to 60 fps with no or minimum motion blur its very over powering and very evident in nearly any movement that isn't a very slow pan while walking. Someone who enjoys it may just not notice how evident I guess
+Matthew Williams I mean, if I specifically look for it I'll see it, but usually my eyes are actually focused on what's happening in the game instead.
Final game looks better.
+Guhsteh i agree with you , better than in 2014 demo
Complete opposite to the division
What do you expect from Ubisoft? At least Bethesda gives the graphics they show at demos.
so you are okay with shitty graphics?did you expect the graphics from the e3 demo on consoles?
ciprianrobo
Ubisoft is crap, but what I'm trying to say is that Bethesda, even though their graphics were crap, still showed what the game would look like. Also, almost all the demos are fired up straight from the engine itself, so consoles need compensating.
All hail Naughty Dog !!!
+Crash Gaming the demo looks better tho.
+dragonddarkPSN why are you telling him to kill himself when he's just stating a fact
+dddddddd that's not a fact lmao
+dragonddarkPSN yeah it is
+dddddddd This game looks better than every other pc game. That's a fact. Let's see you damage control now.
graphics got nerfed quite a bit, they just masked it with different lighting effects. For example, water looks much better in earlier versions than in the final game. The skin shader can hardly be called realistic. I mean, SSS is good but only if you don't overdo it. Also, the light colouring gave the game a bit less realistic look. It's not bad for the style but it certainly doesn't float my boat.
Finally someone is being honest. Dude I said months back but would be downgraded
+ErkekjetterÅntikrist No. Lighting has been changed in the first E3 demo to a green hue, which is a better for a scene with so much green foliage. The only difference you can see are the texture quality in some rocks as Nate climbs up. The lighting in the water also has to do with preference more than anything else.
The second E3 demo is nearly the same, too. You can argue that the water reflection looks better in some parts of the video. But as soon as Nate latches on to the truck, you can see that the water reflection looks better than the E3 demo.
The lighting also gives the mud more depth and the environment is more brighter. These are in fact improvements and now sued to hide anything.
I prefer the look of the older versions and god damn that motion blur makes me sick. Still pretty impressive though, just wish I could play this at 60 fps and without motion blur and maybe depth of field effects.
1:02 How is it safe to say that the reveal trailer footage was pre-rendered? I expected DF to be knowledgeable enough to know that when creating a real-time trailer a lot of the constraints of making a full, functional game are removed. The CPU was almost entirely free when making this scripted real-time render, whereas in the final game the actual game mechanics, physics and AI are eating up the CPU cycles. The rendered area in the trailer is also very small, that can free up alot of GPU resources compared to the polygon-dense environments of the final game. Also, That DoF in the trailer is most likely hiding low quality assets and textures; there's no point wasting polygons when the viewers cannot see them. All of that can leave alot of headroom for the engine to be rendered at 60fps with that extremely high quality AA solution that was in the trailer. I still believe that trailer was rendered in real-time on PS4 hardware.
ND could have easily replicated that exact trailer with the same quality in the final game, minus the 60fps and the ridiculous AA, of course. The poly-count of -Nate's model is the same, the texture quality is the same, the shaders, the lighting... Oh, and the sand deformation still can be done; mesh deformation is still in the game, just used in other areas.
***** I know it is. It's Digital Foundry that somehow came up to the conclusion that it was pre-rendered.
The length of the second part of the chase is based around all sorts of factors and it's possible to drag it out as long as you like if you don't get in a jeep when you're nearly to the point where you catch Sam. I spent a good five minutes just shooting guys from the last truck until I jumped to a jeep and it seems you could do that forever if you wanted. Likewise you can drag along on the rope for ages but not climb up, so there are a number of ways the chase can elongate - handy if you're going for that 'shoot x number of vehicles' while being dragged trophy. I also used it to get the one for shooting guys while hanging from a rope because if you don't climb up, they'll just keep coming.
This game looks amazing while playing it... best looking game to date i have played. I am so grateful to have played such a wonderful game. The story..wow..
suck it off !! its no where near as good now . I've seen it and it looks like an over hyped tomb raider clone
@@bensmith7656 tomb raider clone? Your A clown this game shits on tomb raider . This game have better storyline , gameplay , storytelling , graphics , characters , character development , set pieces , production value than your shit raider
Even that in final it looks little changed, the game looks appsolutely amazing.
The jeep is slower so the PS4's can have time to stream all data. The day I saw that video at E3 I knew that it couldn't be possible without a SSD. This video explains many things!
For me, final game looks better.
Please buy glasses
+Bruno Fernandes The final game looks more realistic, in no way does it look worse
av a closer look
+Bruno Fernandes ehhh??? Final game has better anti-aliasing, better vegetation and volumetric lightning in thr cave...
Too bad a GTX 1080 won't be able to run this.
+Matthew's Couch Oh imagine the graphical fidelity if this game was on PC... Somehow I believe Uncharted would work great on a PC too!
Carl Golli Yeah, could be near orgasmic IMO. Whew.
Yeah but you got to give the consoles a bone sometimes. I think the ps4 did phenomenal with the hardware constraints.
+Matthew's Couch A GTX 1080 would rip this game a new one. It could probably run this at 120FPS if it was properly optimized for PC.
+Carl Golli Imagine this on PC... and blah, blah, blah... Imagine The Order 1886, imagine Ratchet & Clank, imagine Until Dawn, imagine Killzone Shadowfall, Infamous Second Sun, Driveclub, and back in the days, Uncharted 1, 2, 3, Killzone 2, 3, God of War 3, God of War Assenssion, Metal Gear Solid 4, that's only the PlayStwtion side of things...
Now keep imagining...
Why having a PC full of brute force, to run the best graphics on earth, when 9/10 of the best looking games, are always on consoles? Why?
Amazing how close they came to the reveal. In some ways the game as a whole is even more impressive. So much detail, and on a much bigger scale than the last 3.
The E3 demo footage was not played live, it was pre-recorded.
+betocool it was, well technically anyway
Great video. Props on managing to keep the gameplay footage as close to the demo footage as well. Keep them coming!
Wow I recently replayed uncharted 4 and uncharted lost legacy on a 4K QLED UHD 65inch tv and I’m mind blown. Everything even real life looks like shit now..The game is absolutely beautiful in every way. Everything about it is so so so good.
For those who don't like motion blur. Take you hand, make a fist, then stick your index finger out. Look at it from a side view and move your index finger up and down very fast. Real life motion blur, it's something that happens in real life, that's why it's in games. It wasn't intended to make low fps games look better, that doesn't really make sense if you about it.
Anybody noticed that naughty dog deleted the intro part in 2014 demo where nate says "where the hell are you ? "
That's because in the final game he knows where he is.
Just an intro
The difference overall isn't as crippled as I was thinking it would be. Thanks DF for your throughout effort as usual!
Uncharted 4 GOTY
GOTM (game of the millennium)
uncharted goty
look at the shadows and light filtering on Nate's head in the demo vs the absence in the final version 4:58
Final Version: Upgrade in Characters Design, Downgrade in Environment Design !!
Demo Version: Amazing Environment Details with LESS Blur
+The Gamer993 Erm .... upgrade in character design? Did you watch the video? It clearly says (AND SHOWS) that the character from the original trailer is HIGHER detailed and with better textures and lighting and shaders than the FINAL one.
Did you miss that part? It was right at the beginning.
Final version is half the FPS promised, image quality "Stepped Back" (quoted from the video above ... at the beginning) and detail lowered a bit. But still pretty good. For a potato. At 25-30fps....
+TheVanillatech They clearly said the lighting was better in the final version than what was shown in the demos. Not only that but there are also better shadows, more vegetation density, better motion blur, subspace scattering on character skin and a lot more additions from the demos. The biggest difference is the 30fps cap in sp while mp runs 60fps. Also they removed the teaser scene.
+TheVanillatech sooo much salt lol
QuickTimeGamer90s
Really? Which video are YOU watching? Cos on the one on my screen, none of what you just said makes sense...
+Papa Pimp Lol i agree vanilatech blocked me for calling him troll.
Yes. The game is actually much more beautiful once it's out. This rare phenomenon is sometimes happening in the video game industry.
I love how many PC fanboys just come here bashing on this game... A game they will never play.
A movie, that they will not spend 2 days watching.
Giedrius911G It's a game and a masterpiece At that, deal with it
ExKorpio
Masterpiece? This game is totally nothing. I mean, nothing. You think so just because you're a stupid sony fanboy. No uncharted game was good. They're just mediocre over-advertised ripoff from indiana jones. No replay value, no story, no gameplay. Just one big shitty mess for JB fans.

just one other thing to point out: at the cutscene in the E3 demo in which Sully points out Sam fleeing from the cars on the bridge, in the E3 demo, if you watch the Jeep's antenna closely, you can see that it stops wobbling. But in the final game, the antenna keeps wobbling during the cutscene
Just thought I'd point that out. The game looks fantastic.
It's just awesome. ND Company best Game Developers on the world I think.
I liked some of the more forested areas in the Demo More, but once they got to the city and everything else looked better in the final game, imo.
Aside from that first reveal, which was pretty clearly an in engine target render, not actual gameplay... It looks better in some ways, worse in others. So, overall, very faithful to the publicly displayed footage... Pretty much the opposite of SOME bait and switching shovelware devs (Cough, UBISOFT, COUGH)...
some people fail to see this
This is why I love Naughty Dog; while the final retail version has minor visual cutbacks, overall they really improved the visuals and gameplay. Ubisoft should take notes.
The game basically looks as good as the demos with some parts looking better and others just missing the mark
naughty dog has created something magical with uncharted 4. I got no other words besides magical.
wtf theses guys saying there was an upgrade. They didint watch the video? xeeezz
The teaser moment is when he wakes up in the heavy storm, picking up from the prologue.
Naughty dog clearly dont know how to properly downgrade their games, this is not nearly enough
+Rudis Somebody missed the joke...
Thank you guys
You are really working hard to present such videos to us
Wish you the best
Keep up the impressive work
12:28 Voice Crack!
"In prePARATion to the enemies outside" hahaha lol
God this jeep chase scene is still jaw-droppingly impressive.
The final game looks so much better, great job Naughty Dog absolutely amazing game!
The chase scene was not demoed live. There was a controller mishap and they ended up playing pre-recorded footage.
really cool video.
i do like the water in the demo more
maybe this is wierd but, I kinda feel like it's been an honor to play this series and knowing Nate :)
Motion blur is dogshit on games where u have like 200+fps on a 144hz screen.. but in a peasant 30 fps console game it helps.
How old are you lol
+KrugeR salty!
what a scrub
+KrugeR Screen tear is also dog shit, use vsyng/gsync/freesync god-dammit.
+atif fan
Lol
I love how much better the lightining is. We want bright, live colors!!
+FunnyMontagesGR Yes! It is given so much lifelike sense to the whole game.
5:23 Definite Downgrade
+dante devilhunter Yeah, that section looks downgraded but if you lookat 6:03 it actually looks much better in the final game. Some things look better others look worse. I wouldn't call this a down grade (save for the 2014 footage of course).
In all four games, I noticed that Nathan Drake can get elements such as water, snow, sand, and now mud. I named them in order from the first game and the last.
Digital foundry are biased. They neglected to mention the lower shadow, and texture resolution specifically on Nathan's character model and the fire effects. Also the lower, blurrier texture quality on the rocks, mud and foliage in the jungle. The charcters up close are noticable flatter and the cinematics have had a cut back in textures, shadows and details such as the lack of ambient occlusion, intense reflection and a lack of details, most notably in the eyes. In my opinion, their are generally improved scenes here an there, but I found the final game to be increasingly flatter. Digital Foundry barely touched on the incredibly noticeable downgrades and instead passed over it by saying it "looks the same". I'm a Naughty Dog fan and love their games; but that doesn't mean I'm let this stuff go. Uncharted 3 had the same problem, and The Last of Us, sadly had an intense gameplay downgrade, mostly with the npc and companion AI and scripting and a lack of real AI communication. I really hope Naughty Dog doesn't lie to us with the The Last of Us part 2's graphical and AI that was represented at E3 2018. An E3 demo should be nothing but improvements towards the final product.
It’s crazy to think that a game studio would upgrade their game after a trailer/teaser instead of tank it’s quality
Take note ubisoft
what's the song at 2:00
i want to know too
uncharted soundtrack
"A normal life" from the soundtrack
Water, i prefer the demo :)
Am I the only one who thinks the demo looked better? Especially the view of the overhanging cliff. No birds, flies block the view, there is less light reflection on the rocks and it has less of that charming blue hue from the demo. Like, they took everything that was more dull and gritty, which matched the game's tone, and then splashed a bunch of orange on it.
the demo looks better
it´s amazing how close it looks to e3 2014 video, it just looks mind blowing, a phenomenal looking game!
DOOM VULCAN API NVDIIA VS AMD PLS
9:03- I think motion blur makes movements look cool or dramatic. I've had that experience since Metal Gear Solid 4 and Resident Evil 5.
Id rather leave my eyes to do the blurring
LOOK AT THE FUCKING TEXTURES!
Why was this only mentioned once? Look at 3:30, 4:05, 4:29, EVERYWHERE! Not downgraded, my left testicle.
Look at the original teaser too! Three times the graphical fidelity at twice the frame rate and they had the gall to claim it was running on a PS4. BULLSHIT.
Admit it when your shitty box can't run stuff and stop misleading the consumers. No wonder PC gaming is on the rise - PC exclusive developers aren't compulsive liars.
+Nikolai Azerbaijan MIPs, MIPs everywhere as far as the eye can see.
+Squidel AT MIP?
Flying Snail en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mipmap
***** Surely you understand that people can say whatever they like? The frame rate and fidelity of the final product proves that the 2014 teaser (which was running at 60fps) was far above what the PS4 is capable of.
People lie all the time. Numbers never lie.
Nikolai Azerbaijan he doesn't understand anything, will block you for facts.
Even better than The E3 trailer, nothing compares to this masterpiece !
climing simulator 4 a climers ends
+Fernando Ramirez Nope thats "The Climb" for 50 bucks :)) and 1 hour gameplay
+Fernando Ramirez I'd love to know just how much of my 12 hours with the game was spent climbing walls while the Drake brothers threw quips at each other, cos it feels like an awful lot.
Typical Xbox fanboys....
When you're trapped under the jeep there seems to be some nice smoke effects in the demo, but none in the final game. Is there none at all, toned down or it differs from playthrough to playthrough?
+SaintAlia_of_the_Games A lot of times in the E3 demo i noticed that particle effects was stronger and the final game in certain scenes lacked some smoke effects entirely. Better textures and specular lighting in the 2014 demo as well. Just what i saw in the first viewing and for a deep analysis/comparison, he fails to mention those things entirely. Instead, repeatedly mentioning improved motion blur and color changes.
mmmcrispyful Yeah it's weird, I did expect them to address those things. He did say he'll provide a more in depth comparison later maybe. Hopefully then he'll say something.
