How to Get the Most out of Your Work - Dr. Charles Stanley

  • It’s Monday morning. Somewhere in the darkness your alarm starts buzzing-time to get up and go to work. Do you drag your feet as you get ready, dreading the day ahead?
A good many of us don’t look forward to our jobs. In this message, Dr. Stanley explains that when we shift our attitudes, we can experience real joy and satisfaction, bringing glory to God no matter who signs our paycheck. Learn to serve God, regardless of your job title, and watch Him transform your dread into delight.
This message is part of the sermon series, Messages on Guidance.

    Boy was this for me.
Thank you Lord for giving me this message.
I have been having problems at work with an employee who is so mean to everyone and ran off 5 people crying
I have really been thru it.
I choose to let go and follow God. I am going to let God handle the problems not me.
This helps me to not care and gives me peace.

Jesus is coming! Amen. God is merciful. He always forgives. Never be ashamed to take your failures to him. He is for you, not against you! God is with you in the storm. He knows your troubles, he hears you! He is for you, on your side, always! It may feel silent at times, but he’s holding you close! May the Lord return soon! We are drawing closer. He is coming! Believe and trust in the Lord, you will be saved. Period. May the Lord bless you all! Hang in there family. Stay strong. It is not easy following the Lord. We are scoffed at. We give up our earthly dreams, our fleshly desires. What the enemy offers is short lived, but heaven is forever! Life may seem or be unfair, but God is with you! Always remember that. Things may get better or worse for you, but a kingdom awaits you! Finish the race! Repent daily and carry your cross. This world is fading fast. Your troubles are temporary! I made this channel because I felt guilty for not witnessing enough, I’d appreciate any kind of support. Don’t give up! God loves you so much! So do I. The Lord bless you!

Thank you! Dr. Charles Stanley. Currently, I am going through this issue with a co-worker, who tries her best to do just minimal work. It's testing my faith big time! This employee has been employed in the agency for a long time, yet the work ethic is poor. It's annoying when people don't use their initiatives, resulting to other people picking up the slacks. I am not the type of person who keeps reminding people of their tasks. So, oftentimes, I whisper under my breath, asking The Lord to grant me PATIENCE as I deal with the individual. And yes, indeed, I have to remind myself that The Lord is in charge of everything I do. Praise The Lord!

I just finished listening to this message for the second time in a row. I needed it to really sink in and I didn't want to lose anything Dr. Stanley said. It has been a great blessing. I have been trying to let my life and work be a witness of God at my work place but I was on the verge of burning out so I complained to my boss. I didn't want to come across as a complainer but what I was going through was a tad too much. This message has brought healing to my soul - knowing that I am on the right path but that I needed much help and insight to even be better at what I do and be a witness of God - taking into account all the principles he shared. May your gentle soul continue to rest in peace, Sir. You are still a blessing though you are no longer with us here on earth. ❤🙏

Thank you Pastor Stanley, for making the expectations of us, children of Christ, to serve Him and to spread joy and peace through our work day at our work place. The spiritual warfare that surrounds you as you try to do your best and be a happy worker as you are mistreated by your co-workers, people of authority in that work place, are all seen and known by our Father in Heaven. I hope your message helps people who are struggling, being bullied, brow beaten and mistreated at their work place to hold strong to the promises of our Lord and Saviour. This is a wonderful sermon to begin every work day to remind us of who is really in charge of our lives, who we are truly working for and where our rewards are truly being counted! So true and important ... You think you have a terrible job and that's why you have good reasons to complain? Well, I have the most relaxing job, a 30 hour workweek, more than enough income and everything I need. Nonetheless I still felt unsatisfied, exploited, and experienced that (ungrateful?) victim mentality for months.
My point is, even if we had a "better job" it wouldn't solve the problem at all if we don't embrace that godly spirit of a servant. Change your attitude, not your job, don't run away, realise that God is your employer and your job becomes a blessing and even a source of strength.
Also a no-brainer, but one of Satan's most effective tools is to distract us and make sure we don't get enough sleep, so go to bed early!
Sorry for my bad English! God bless and greets from Germany. (I wish we had more wonderful pastors like Dr. Stanley overhere.)

I get hurt when customers say things to me like..am I bothering you? Or why are you in a rush? I am trying my best and the only way to face my issues is to walk by faith and I really want this to work. Anyone else have these issues.? What helps you.? Also I get a lot of support to but I tend to focus on the negative.I want to serve the Lord and this is where he lead me.

    ZERUBBABEL
    [ ze rub' a bel ]
A leader in the building of the second temple, after the return from Babylonian exile. Some scholars identify ZERUBBABEL with Sheshazzar, since both are mentioned as leaders on the project, but it seems more probable that Sheshbarrar was perhaps the titular head, while ZERUBBABEL and JOSHUA the priest were the actual active leaders. In Hag. 1:1 and 2:2, ZERUBBABEL is referred to as the "governor " under whom the work was carried out.

    ZEPHANIAH
    [ zef a ni' a ]
A prophet of Judah. The first verse of ZEPHANIAH'S prophecy places his work in the reign of Josiah (c. 640-609 BC ). Since the condition described is worse than might be expected after the reforms of Josiah had been carried out, the prophecy was probably uttered in the early part of that king's reign. ZEPHANIAH traces his lineage through four generations back to Hezekiah. If this individual is to be identified with King Hezekiah, it is likely that ZEPHANIAH sought to gain authority for his word by showing himself to be of royal blood. If this is the case, his criticism of the ruling classes becomes even more notable. ZEPHANIAH probably lived in Judah and quite possibly in Jerusalem. In Zeph. 1:4 he speaks of Jerusalem as "this place", and in Zeph. 1:10-11, he exhibits considerable knowledge of the topography of the city.

    ZEDEKIAH ( The Prophet )
    [ zed e ki'a ]
A court prophet in the time of King Ahad of Israel, and the leader of a band of 400 prophets summoned by Ahad when he wished to learn the future of the campaign which he and Jehoshaphat King of Judah were planning against Ramoth-gilead. ZEDEKIAH embellished the uniformly favorable reply of the prophets by making pair of iron horns and using them to demonstrate how the Israelites would push the Syrians around. When Micaiah was summoned and prophesied disaster for venture implying that ZEDEKIAH possessed "a lying spirit", ZEDEKIAH struck him and sarcastically questioned his prophetic authority. Micaiah was cast into prison, but the defeat of the kings vindicated his prophecy.
