- The East Coast of Tasmania is home to some of the most stunning landscape not just in Tasmania but arguably Australia. With aqua blue waters so clear, you would be forgiven for thinking you were in tropical Queensland, however the fresh air will quickly bring you back to earth. Driving along the coastline is a delight in itself, there are many places to stop and enjoy the view and with some of the greatest camping spots along the coast. Coles Bay has been a locals favourite summer holiday destination and faces across to the Hazards and stunning Freycinet National Park. This is where we were headed.
Freycinet is home to Wineglass Bay, which if you haven’t heard of you would have definitely seen. Plastered over ads for Tassie, this wine shaped bay has its name firmly high on the tourist checklist, however there is much more to see and experience around the national park. For us however we had architecture on our mind and it was the new Coastal Pavilions at Freycinet Lodge that were calling our name...

We really are a friendly bunch. I've been told, more than once, whenever we travel to other parts of Australia, that Tasmanians are the friendliest people!! Trust me, I've travelled around Aus a lot and some states are certainly friendlier than others. Proud we are considered super nice. Want to cross the road in a small town? No worries, cars will stop and hold up traffic just to let you cross. Need a carpark in Launnie? Can't tell you the amount of times someone runs over to you with their ticket that still has time left on it to give you. Oh, have your indicators on and need to get over? No worries, someone will let you in and when they let you in you should always wave and smile and thank them. I LOVE Australia and especially Tassie!

Beautiful. Love the curves in the bedroom and the gorgeous blue long curtains. Very inviting outside deck, beautiful furniture. Love all the wood. Ideal location for relaxing. And the view is spectacular.

I have stayed in the honeymoon suite here. It really was amazing and in classic Hobart style, I ended up knowing most of the people who built it and someone who did PR for them etc etc. Its a small island haha But a gorgeous one.
