Analese Freels The storyline goes really in-depth but if you want to know where the content came from it was Reign and The Tutor's i recommend both shows they're really good. The Tutor's follow's Henry the 8th the king of England and his reign. Reign focuses on the story of Mary Stuart the queen of Scotland and her reign the storyline starts around the time she married the Crown Prince of France. Though they are completely 2 different shows they are related in some way in history because Henry the 8th's daughter is Queen Elizabeth who is Mary's 2nd cousin and they both have claim to the english thrown because Henry's the 8th sister Margaret married the king of Scotland and they had a son and then that son James 5th is Mary's father so she also has claim to the thrown and was seen as the legitimate heir because Elizabeth was considered a bastard of Henry's 2nd married to Anne in the eyes of the Catholic church while Elizabeth wasn't of the Catholic (branch of Christianity) faith she was a Protestant (branch of Christianity) so The pope wanted Mary on the thrown.
