    While I am glad they saved the Abu Simbel Temples and seeing them in person was one of the most amazing things I've ever witnessed I wish they had found a way to leave them in their original position. Just put a giant levee or something around them. The whole counterweight, fake mountain thing to me won't stand the test of time like the original mountain would have.

    • @than217
      @than217 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MoOriginX It was the 1960s. The Netherlands created levees that reclaimed half their country from the ocean hundreds of years ago. So it wasn't the only way.

      @than217 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Diamondraw4Real The original position of the temple is now underwater. When the Aswan Dam was created in the 1960s it flooded the entire Nile River for hundreds of miles. Several of the temples were moved block by block to higher ground, this temple was carved directly into the side of a mountain so they cut the entire mountain apart and rebuilt it directly above where it used to be.

    I don't understand where people are getting the idea that Ramses The Great was black. His body is in the Egyptian museum of antiquities in Cairo. He is a short causation redhead with a big nose. This is genetically proven, and you can see for yourself if you go there. There were Nubian kings of Egypt, which has never been denied, but Ramses II was not one of them. You might also want to check your knowledge of Egyptian art, it was very stylised, almost none of the physical features on any of the statues or paintings resemble the real features of those represented.

      Liah Thorley wow the level of ignorance you have is blasphemous and beyond criminal if you actually do know history. Not a single pharaoh was white. All the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt were black men and women. No doubt about it. It’s our ancestors and we know who they were.

    People, stop talking shit about Ramses's nose. What you see from 2:40 to 4:40 is a modern reconstruction with a Ramses´s head replica made for a TV show in the 90's. It's none of the original heads and nobody has revised nor reworked the fucking noses in the original statues. From 4:41 and ahead you can see the real heads that were moved, back then in 1964, whith all its features intact.

    • @marielaveau6362
      @marielaveau6362 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Salai Niccolo wtf are you so angry about? Are you an ancient Egyptian? No! The ancient Egyptians were a mix of people, not just some middle eastern migrants. And in case you didn't know it, there were actually two Egypts, or Two Lands, as it was called. Lower Egypt with Upper Egypt. They were unified by Narmer, who was from southern Egypt. Lower Egypt was populated by a different ethnic group than Upper Egypt, which was peopled by east Africans like Nubians and other Nilotics. And Nubians are not caucasian, but they are Egyptians. So your assertion that North Africa has been caucasoid for over 15k years is only half true, since there were plenty of black Africans in North Africa long before anyone even migrated out of Africa. Just take a look at the cave paintings all over North Africa.
