Good to see people still using old tractors
885xL are very much a underrated tractor. We have got brilliant service out of our one. Putting in silage with 35 years. Serviced properly and a clutch every 12 to 14 years. It must have nearly 20k on it now and the engine was never opened.
Going well
Yeah this is very good tractor
Have an 885xl aswel and I've see the very same with fuel. Need to change filters and hand primer yearly. Also check the gauge bolts on bottom of fuel tank they can get dirty. Great gutsy tractor when getting a good flow of diesel
The gauze was blocked it is back going now
Another with a great commentary everything explained in great detail
Thanks
Great video mate thanks love old school videos

Thanks. Few videos of cows calving to come out
Mighty good video. 👍
Thanks
Great video, love to see these family farms and 3 generations involved...well worth doing your own silage especially as ye have the help.
Thanks
Hi John, I enjoyed the video a lot. We had an IH 885XL for 11 years, still have an IH 485XL for 26 years and had a 4240XL PRO for 15 years...so I see a lot of familiarity with what ye are using. There's one thing that puzzles me - are ye making the silage pit over slats? I assume the pit covers the entire area of slats to avoid air getting in at the underside of the pit?
Thanks glad you enjoyed it. It is only over a small bit of slats but never thought of the air coming in underneath but never have problems with the bottom being bad
Good video all action
Thanks
Presume this is Fermanagh? you sound 'Cavan-ish' but Northern plates on the cars?.
Great to see smaller Kit still putting in a days work. Would the 4wd on wagon not be better suitedon the pit? (Yeah and forgot the Border style arse about face silage pit design ;-) )
No need it to pull the wagon
What length of chop do you get with the krone wagon on average
I don't really know but id say about 15 inches haven't really looked at it too closely before
Very handy to have your own gear though
I am in cornwall and it's Blodey hot 🔥 🥵 😍
