on your laminator - the heat expands the roller's length, and that - plus loctite not being able to handle the temp right there is likely why its getting loose. (The temp adjacent to the element is likely closer to 450F or more).. I have a 60"Orca and it expands over 1" each end at 250F. If you lock both sides up, you'll crown your roller for sure. there's a lot of stress in expanding heated metals. Also- A chain that's pulled drum tight will hop off regularly if there arent nearby idlers or tensioners to track it. I'd look at loosening the chain, and if you shim/lockdown the roller, only shim the fixed side, leave the adjustable side to float freely - but expect it to force media off track a lot more..
Hi Dan, I really liked the way you were able to pinpoint quickly the problem with the 1070. It would be brilliant if you could do a whole video which goes through some of the commonly seen image problems and what tends to be causing them, i.e. scratches = corona wires, poor solid area = drums or whatever? I run a 3070 and such a video would be great for reference. Keep up the great work, really enjoy the channel.
Hi Thanks for making this video, i have a question, technican told me that C2070 could not handle paper from 300-350gsm, he said it could run but used to jam. What about yours, could you print 300gsm paper on 1070 and 3070. Thank You. You are the best 😊
Good morning Dan. On my 2060 I might make it to 90-95% and I can notice a change in print quality. Only that machine. My other machines go well over 100 %
Great to see the end-user side of things. I deal in repossessed KM machines. I was thinking about a getting a smaller cheaper business card slitter. Any suggestions?
I have seen a few of those and they tempt me. I don't have experience with them so I cannot recommend them. I have seen a lot of the RB Sun HS-3000-GC Business card slitter, don't know if that is because they are popular or if people are selling them because they don't like them. :) For me, I'll stick with my guillotine cutter.
Make sure you have some jobs to print, get a cheap printer, then a cutter, folder. Pay cash as you go. I like Konica machines, but there are dozens to choose from that will get the job done.
Just A Printer thank you much for replying. Is there a printer you have in mind would be ideal to start with ? Same for cutter/folder. That way I can either look into that or have an idea of what to look for.
It is a Horizon VAC-100 collator with SPF-20a Bookletmaker, only has single side trim. Horizon does make a true saddle stitcher with 3-knife as well. Its a solid machine.
Sorry, I have no experience with the KM controllers. I'd be interested to learn about those. I'd assume they would make a good product, but I'd be scared to go away from Fiery.

Thanks for watching. I should do a list of top problems and fixes. Great idea!
whole heartedly agree - and honestly KM really should do one too. It would save them a lot of service calls. I have a KM 3070L

Where do you get just the drums?
how do you changer the dust filter?
Hi do you work alone in your print shop or do you have any worker / helper ?
McMaster Carr is a good place to go to get random bits of hardware. Quality isn’t a crapshoot, and they ship faster than Amazon too.
Good reminder. I rarely use them, but sometimes I have fun just looking through everything they sell! :)

Interesting, thanks Phil.
you can print test pattern 58+59 at 120 to see clear the line's !
Thanks! I need to write this down. I need to learn the different test patterns!

What is the exact model of your collator/stitcher/3-knife? I have a rosback that I would like to replace with something like that. Is it a Duplo?

is it easy to maintain if using third party toner and maintain the service by own ? because is can low down the cost. 1060 and 1070 is it same model ?
It is pretty simple but you need to learn how to do it right. 1060 and 1070 are exactly the same other than print speed.
@@justaprinter do you using oem toner or original toner ? Thank for reply
Do you track your time when doing maintenance on your machines to factor that into your "click price"?
In the past I have not, but I am starting to keep track on the c1070. I guarantee its minimal though.
What's your opinion about konica 3070P without fiery they are going to provide only km controller

how does the older machine perform on business cards say 350 gsm
It doesn't. Haha. It is only rated to 300 gsm. I use the 3070 for heavier stock. I'm sure it would print on it though if I tricked it.
