Keep this in mind. There are good days and awful days. It's a zero-sum game, but keep this tip in mind: spend carefully, invest intelligently, and diversify your holdings so that when one performs poorly, the others do as well. This can be accomplished by engaging a qualified specialist whose platform offers a diverse selection of investing possibilities. By doing so, you leave little opportunity for regret and may even gain more.

I already invest in some of these funds… While there are other brokerage equivalents, I’m not a fan Charles Schwab for the simple reason that it always seems to take them way (months) longer than other brokerages to release your investment tax documents. Which delays filing your taxes by a considerable amount of time. Very important if you’ve been a victim of identity theft or are worried about identity theft.

1929-1959 this methodology would have definitely worked but not that well as compared to just selling... knowing everything was gonna crash. It's impossible to time the market but with our resources today it's easy to see we are in a recession and things will get worse. If you choose to go all in on index funds then getting out of them right now and going back in once stuff gets a little cheaper.... might mean you lose money but way less if you choose to stay in and invest monthly.

Impressive video. I started a bit late (graduated from my doctorate program at age 30 in 2016 with 170k in school loan debt). Managed to pay off my debt by 2019 and currently have a house and 250k total in investments (combo of profit share, 401k and a brokerage account). I'm not very knowledgeable in investing, so I just have my investing currently in index funds mainly voo, but have been putting a lot into schd the past few months. I dunno if that's the optimal strategy, but psychologically it is very set it and forget it, and prevents me from obsessing over individual stock performance.

I'm not sure why you ignore the cash value of whole life insurance policies which are contractually guaranteed to never go down and in fact to go up. Not only that, but they grow tax-free, can be accessed tax-free, and earn dividends which compound annually and give you exponential growth in your cash value. You should probably start reading about the Infinite Banking Concept which is a way better option for investing in volatile markets than the garbage, unpredictable stock market.

I know that there is talk that the market might take a big dip and just wondering if I need to try to plan on buying the bulk of my index funds at that time or if it doesn't matter as much since these are meant to be held on to for long periods of time. I mean this historically is good advice. But if you believe index funds are creating a market bubble waiting to pop it’s a great way to lose a pile of your retirement. Think Netflix on a market wide scale. An index fund blindly pumps the share price of hundreds of companies regardless of whether they have the merits to back it up. It’s definitely a little concerning

You leave it in, if your time horizon is long. Guessing the bottom of a market if quite difficult and you don't want to be on the sidelines when the market bounces back. The market tends to forward think 6-12 months so a lot of stock market gains are made during recessions, especially if you're dollar cost averaging.
