The MT21/D606 combo has been "popular" for a number of years, but it's useful to know that the Dsport performs as well (or better) than the D606 while costing less and lasting longer. Great info!

Been running the d sport/ mt21 combo for a couple of years now on three different bikes, great combo

You are spot on about the D-Sport rear tire and the MT 21 front. I have had D606s and D-Sports on my DR650 and both tires (rear) do well off road. They really launch you forward quite well. Both front tires do wash out like you said in the loose stuff. I just put a set of MOTOZ tires on (Desert H/T front and RallZ rear) and they are absolutely amazing on and off road. The front is a little wider 90/100/21 for the sand we have here in NC. Great info in this video Bro!
    Cheers!

Nice! I’m getting a 2023 DRZ 400s this June, I’m 6’3 and now 250 lbs, but 6 months ago I was 305! 😫so getting back to 1980’s form. 😂💪 I hope this will pay off for the DRZ experience! Last dirt bike was a brand new 2005 KX 500. Can’t wait to get back in! Thx for info.

Knew it was the d sport before you even said it, such a great tire!

I may have gotten unlucky with my Tusk D-Sport rear. It started losing pieces of rubber at 500 miles. The D606 installed now is wearing better and lasting much longer. I personally like the Dunlops more BUT they come at a cost. Glad you found a happy medium! Makes the next tire purchase much easier 👍

Contact RMATV for a claim! They’re really cool about that kind of stuff. That hasn’t happened to any of my buddies using the D-Sport.
      Thanks though!

Made in China vs Dunlop made in the US.

I have the dsport front on my WR250R and I whole heartedly agree. Washes out wayyy too much, which is why I ended up here looking for recommendations! Perhaps I’ll try the MT21

So you put the d sport over the 244? I have a dsport i just gotta get mounted, I'm currently running 244 front and k270 rear, and I'm not a fan of the road usability of the kenda vs the shinko where the shinko has the side lugs stacked for better road use, now I may just have to fast track that dsport install

Would that tire combo fit on a 2021 XT250? Regarding the screenshots you have in the video. If i ordered those exact ones they would fit no issue?

No, I run higher pressures in everything so it’s unnecessary for me

I have one in the front and love it, almost too aggressive sometimes, feels like it's pulling you around in sand and mud because it's clawing into everything(but that could be my lack of riding skills trying to fight it or something), but tons of traction......definitely not good for smaller Rocks like if you're riding on train tracks, it's just clawing too hard all over the place you gotta go Fast to overcome the crazy traction, you have to fight it sometimes, Lol.....but it's really good on road to my surprise, I ride like a maniac on Tarmac, never felt anything funny from the front end.

I just installed a set of tusk d sports on my 23 KLR 650. Went for a 200 mile ride about 70% off road and I have been up most of the night researching front tires. That front tire is absolute shit. I took it off and mounted it in the reverse orientation which helped drastically. But it still shit. And then I was seeing mixed reviews about the MT21 being just as bad. The d sport front wants to wander badly even in a straight line and makes it downright scary to try to turn on a gravel road. By far the worst feeling front tire I have ever had on any off-road bike. And I honestly didn't think it could get worse than the tires that came with my bike.

    • @OgreMoto

Yup the d sport front is a no go

@@OgreMoto I just placed my order for a 90/100-21 motoz tractionator desert h/t. Seems a bigger tire and better trim pattern might help. The KLR 650 is kind of front heavy. Too much weight for such a skinny tire. The d sport and 606 being pretty much identical, the front tires are just awful on anything but a very light bike. My buddy on his 300l swears by the d sports, but they made the KLR nearly unrideable

@@nathan00campbell yeah I owned a KLR for years. Great bikes, but they’ve got funky weight distribution. Really great ergos though.

Great comment, and I'd also like to throw out my disdain for the D Sport front. Worst piece of shit front tire I've ever ran. You like adrenaline, no need for a hyperbike. Just take my klx300 down a gravel road at 30 mph 😆. No joke, a buddy and I both have klx300s and went to D Sports, so many good reviews out there for that tire. We were in for a shock! Both of us are old, lifetime riders, rode dirt in our youth then onto street bikes, then sport bikes for many years. The D Sports took a fun little bike that you could thrash anywhere, to a proceed with caution if you are on any loose surface death trap. We do ride trails a lot, but pavement as well. So we actually need a solid 50/50 setup. I am put off by the D Sports all together. I don't even know if I leave the rear on!
