Thanks BrYan. Thursday is one of my days off from working at a gun club up in park city. I always look forward to gear tasting!

In my main EDC light I use 18650 rechargeable batteries and found some silicone covers on eBay to protect extra batteries that I keep in my pocket or EDC bag from discharging.

FYI Chairman Jeff Cooper said that you shouldn't use Allen key to remove, adjust, or install part on a weapon. He would have you use a common screwdriver. So that you wouldn't need to remember to carry a set of screwdrivers and have 8-10 Allen keys, 8 Torx drivers or any of the special security drive bits currently in use.
FYI the Allen key was one of the first security driver bits and it was proprietary to protect and prevent tampering. So while I like them and they are nice for setting over travel of your trigger that should be done at home not at the range. Also the older Harris bipods used a button head allen screw with an extra slot cut to tighten them with a COMMON SCREWDRIVER to hold them on the WEAPON.
By the way most of the classic firearm used common screw heads not Phillips or anything else.

Bryan, does that badger mount attach to your existing Harris or is it a all new bipod?

Bryan, with budget in mind do you think the Harris is still a better value after you invest 100 in the bipod and then 65 into the badger mount than an atlas? The way I look at it is the major reason to go with a Harris is its cheaper than an atlas, but once you have close to 200$ into your atlas does it make sense to just make the jump to an atlas?

How does that gear taste, exactly?

Why do you use a harris over an atlas bipod?

Jaygermeister I agree. Perhaps for a SAW gunner or something. In the civilian market however, I think the advantages of the atlas outweigh the harris. Tactical Rifleman has a great video about atlas bipods in relation to the older harris models.

"For 4.3 oz of weight savings, I'll just carry an allen wrench". How much does the allen wrench weigh?

Battery usage is a personal choose! I for one have two sizes I use in my gear AA / AAA I have not found a use for 123 and will not purchase gear that has them. On that note I have not found gear that isn't made in the common AA / AAA these days. The 123 was a fade and useless "mostly gear head junkies" carry and use them. For storage I just lay flat and tape the batteries together and put them in a zipp lock, unless I now I will be in aircraft then need to use FAA approved plastic sleeves like the ones sold on the ITS web site. Also I to have changed to lithium longer life / storage

MPO sorry buddy but CR123s are here to stay. you cannot run PVS14s or 7s on 1.5v AAs. nor PEQs, DBAL or any reputable weapon light. you wanna attach a 3 cell AAA Nebo light to your duty weapon? I'll pass lol

Like I said its a personal choose; Do you need a light on your duty weapon? or can you use a tactic instead.Do you really need to use night vision or use a tactic? train and trust in the training what did they do in the past, what would you do in a situation where you didn't have 123's? the more equipment reliant a person is the less reliable they are. MPO well I cant see at nighttime and don't know many people who can, so like any essential equipment I make sure I carry spares. Technology is a important part of warfare and is something that puts the US ahead of other militarized countries. In the past, we had much higher casualty rates than we do now, as well as conventional uniformed enemies. Times have changed, warfare evolves, technology combined with tactics is what makes the US the best. Imagine if we had the equipment we use now in Vietnam? How many lives would have been saved? Sure, the Taliban and ISIS don't need technology to cause havoc but they also get fucked up when they go toe to toe with our military. Even Marines have weapon lights lol

Not going to argue with you, your missing my point. The U.S. had this equipment during Vietnam War were do you think it came from LOL. Yes we can see at night your just not trained to just like the knowledge and training of Counter warfare tactic's are missing. Technology is the down fall of the U.S.A., reliance on technology brings dependents and the inability to complete simple tasks and thought. Sorry to say but there comes a time a society / culture will revert and become superior and that time is coming.
