I shared this video with my 32 years old daughter that lives 2 hours away. We both plan on having a bread time and make it together even though we live far apart! We both LOVE grilled cheese! Thank you for the video!
You certainly are welcome! This make a good family size grilled cheese. You may like one if the other grilled cheese brisket melt videos I did. th-cam.com/video/Rt0lnmkd3Ig/w-d-xo.html
Jeepers!.... Good gracious! Dat looks killer! Great vid as I wanna try bread sometime soon in da dutch oven! Have a good one from your viewer in northern Wisconsin!
Great vid Matt! I do pretty much the same with my sourdough recipe except, with a well seasoned Dutch oven, I just sprinkle a little cornmeal in the bottom before dumping the dough. Love that crisp crust. If you like sourdough but don't want to fool with starter, just add a quarter teaspoon of citric acid to your yeast and give it an extra half hour of rise. The acid retards the yeast but gives it a great tangy flavor.
Thank you for sharing you'r recipe with us I can't wait to try it. I am waiting on my first cast iron dutch oven it arrives tomorrow new subscriber God Bless you. That grilled cheese sandwich look's amazing!
any suggestion for modifying ingredients or cooking method if I use 1 cup of wheat flour and 2 cups of white unbleached flour - instead of 3 cups unbleached white flour. Tx
@@TeachaMantoFish Tx, I added an extra 1/4 tsp of yeast to compensate for the "heavier" 1/3 wheat flour and it came out great. I like your simple recipe and will keep tinkering with it. Next I will add a small amount of molasses to make a darker bread and will also try honey to make wheat/honey bread.
I have a question regarding the Cast Iron Dutch oven - if you only use it to bake bread in, does it need less maintenance (seasoning) since you will not be using it to put oil or liquid in?
I loved the video. Got a Dutch oven and I'm about to try it following your steps. One question though, what kind of cheese was used on that grilled cheese? That looked heavenly.
I was lucky enough to purchase a Lodge Sportsman Grill Wildlife Series recently. I purchased a skillet and grill scrapper from Academy. However the grill scrapper slots don't match up with the grill top slots. Shouldn't this be standard on all Lodge Sportsman's grills? Would greatly appreciate your comments. Wayne
Made my mouth water. Can you reuse the parchment paper? I just bought a cast iron dutch oven, Is it supposed to be smooth or is scratchy all over? How long do you leave the DO in preheated over; an hour? I'm going to make this right now. Thank you sooo much!
You cannot reuse the paper. It can be scratchy but if you season it well over time it will get smoother. I think about 15 mins in a preheated oven should be enough. Sorry so late getting back to you. I missed your questions. How did it turn out?
Hey, I’ve just cut my bread, after following your example, and the bread is not gummy in the middle but, kinda moist-it’s hard to describe cause I’m NOT a bread baker, but maybe needed more cooking. Any idea?, I guess I should check my oven temp with a thermometer. It looked and smells wonderful, just a little moist inside, is this normal? Your recipe and steps couldn’t be easier to follow. Thanks much!
Teach a Man to Fish the texture is really nice, so even tho it’s kinda moist it’s not raw. I’ll get a new thermometer. Love your style of presenting the recipe.
Watching you cut the bread made me cringe! I was thinking he's going to cut himself. Next shot rolls and you have a band-aide on your finger. Other than that the bread looked great.

Dang.... that looked easy enough. Wow! The grilled cheese sandwich REALLY looked good!!!!!
Carolina Chris Outdoors it really is that easy. Next I want to try it in a 3 foot dutch oven with coals.

The only suggestion I have is “try it and see.”. That’s what cooking is, building off of recipes and making it your own. 😁

Yes
In fact, if you super lite coat it once in awhile you’ll end up with envious coating.
Excuse me is it possible to put herbs or olives in the dough before baking ?
Salim Yamani yes

Pretty sure that was Colby, American and Provolone. Here is video just for the melt th-cam.com/video/Rt0lnmkd3Ig/w-d-xo.html
@@TeachaMantoFish fun quiz question. Where did Colby cheese originate from?
@@TeachaMantoFish Ps Colby American and provolone is gonna be on my next grilled cheese!

Great video, ive just never seen someone slice bread like that 😂
🤣🤣🤣 I cut my finger too!
Great looking bread and grilled cheese! I see that bread knife bit ya. Ouch!
Yeah, it caught me. But I edited it out. Evidence I live life on the edge LOL
Look's delicious Matt but I don't have a dutch oven :(
