My heart breaks. My biggest respects to a man whose story/life serves us value. May this legend live on for generations to come. 🙏

I really like Roman history, but wars, genocides, and plundering are not exactly things that one should aspire to emulate.

Christopher Thrawn That’s precisely why we shouldn’t aspire to emulate the Romans. We’ve not in 50 BC anymore.

Brutus was not Caesar's Nephew. He was Caesar's mistress' son. There were rumors that he was really Caesar's Son.

How ironic. Senate killed Ceaser because they hoped to keep Rome a Republic but caused the exact opposite.
What if he lived? What Rome could have been?
I hope you will also do Augustus.

Mr. Pink *this take is elementary at best. There were many “practical” factors at play more than just keeping Rome a Republic. Many senators simply hated the fact that Caesar had enforced new laws despite them getting vetoed. Many of the conspirators had served under Caesar for years as trusted confidants and generals but switched because they thought they saw an opportunity to carve out political power if Caesar is removed from the scene. You could say, a lot of the conspirators did it because of personal hatred to the man more than their love of the Republic and were actually deluded to think that killing Caesar was what the people wanted while many more simply read the political climate wrong. Also the idea of ruling Rome in a manner similar to a monarch wasnt started by Caesar. Marius paved the way for that and Sulla improved on it only to be copied by Caesar. Sulla, btw, once wanted Caesar dead and actually ordered his assassination many times before. it’s also good to know that same people who hated Caesar were once loyal to Sulla who’s governance style was only copied by Caesar so it wasnt about preserving Rome as a Republic its simply about politics. Rome was already ruled by Dictators who almost had monarchial powers even before Caesar entered the scene. Just so happened that the current member of the senate were also the former dictator’s Yes men. Ultimately, Rome’s transition from a Republic into an Empire was inevitable.*

Brutus was NOT Caesars nephew, they were close, that's it. Octavian who became the future Augustas was his great nephew, perhaps you got mixed up here. That and Brutus had the same cognomen.

It's amazing how civilised they were compared to the medieval times. Their hygiene was heaps cleaner. The sennet would of been a bunch of hens. You would have to have very loyal body guards if you held on to power. They must of been so desensitised to seeing killings .

Basically once Rome decayed, people forgot how toilets work, even though ancient civilizations as far back as the Minoans had mastered that, and even plumbing, when Egypt was still young.

More than half of the pictures are inaccurate, the Colosseum was not even dreamt of at Caesar's time it was built by Emperor Vespasian and completed by 80 AD and inaugurated by Emperor Titus

This series really glorifies Caesar a little too much. Yes he was a great military general and a skilled politician. But he was a horrible narcissistic megalomaniac who committed countless crimes only for his own personal gain. Not to mention the complete destruction of the great Roman political system. Really hard to imagine how one man could create such chaos in his lifetime.
