Johnston has housed not one person. Housing in Denver is not a topic of discussion. Micro Communities are proven failures. Denver does not possess the infrastructure to maintain these houseless compounds. It is only Johnston "claiming victory." This is the guy who lied about his dashboard protocol when it was discovered by journalists. He then was vitriolic to these same journalists who were performing due diligence and uncovered his false information. This scale of kicking the can down the road is a disaster. Denver requires leaders who possess the maturity and acumen to rectify this houseless crisis.

Yes, I would welcome these homes to be built in my back yard. These folks have been given bad luck and should be given very basic necessities to give them the dignity they deserve as much as we do.
They are a valuable addition to any community. They are willing to work hard to get "back on track".

I fled the hostility of a micro community for the safety of the streets. I am in the trenches. Every minute I see the damage of Johnston's decisions I see the ugliness the media does not report. Rape, prostitution, racism, assaults, gun violence, drugs, human trafficking, and property damage accompany this population. My determination for rehousing has been defamed by the city of Denver and Mike Johnston. As a member of his Housing and Homelessness Committee, Johnston thought I would be one of his "yes" people. He does not accept criticism. Micro Communities in Denver have existed for at least ten years and all are failures. The only people benefiting are the operators and providers with large sums of money. My self-advocacy and lived-experience has given me access to arenas most do not know exist. Johnston is no messiah. He is part of the problem.

Go look for yourselves, it is not a good thing.Sorry but the dealers and pimps move into the community and then you have more addicts.
