    The issue with pets is the move speed. They need to be fast enough that you can successfully traverse the word with them, but that speed is totally out of place when the foot fight begins.
    There needs to be something that slows down the pet speed, maybe they move slower the more dmg they take? Maybe they have a combat and travel mode? I'm not sure if I have a good answer.

      100%. Worst shit to deal with in dungeons where you have no terrain to use to play against them. Well, most anyway.

    In Rhias video there are 100% 2 tamers. The direwolfs do 9dmg against armor and are therefore max level. Direwolfs/Blackbears are not OP. Meet a arcane archer in heavy armor on a campodon (good amulet makes it possible) If Rhias just stood on the ledge with a long bow he would have 4 shot the pets. Also since Taming is a primary action skill, optimal beastmasters will not take it. The points crunch for mages is already hard enough.

    The pets should simply level through combat easier. Killing one hostile NPC with a pet should grant it one level of experience. Doing this will make pet leveling more of an active activity rather than just sitting around with your thumb up your butt for 4-8 hours.

    id be down for lowering the leveling time but also lowering damage, possibly make them gain more experience for player kills.

    I am a bit late to the party. But Wofszeit. I want you to make a video. To show the dmg of pets against players. In different kind of armors, and with and without lores. People are always coming with utopian numbers when it comes to pet dmg. And i want a video i can send them when they tell me what kind of dmg pet does to steel.

    MA is OP against PEts, beast masters are OP against footies without longbow, Veelas are OP against mages, Beast masters are OP against mages, Oghmirs are better fighters than humans, mounted mages are OP against mounted combat and list goes on. Noone will ever be happy unless you will have one thursar pure meele character build, but there will be only 100 - 200 tryhards playing this game dueling in cities. Every build is situational. If you get caught on open plains as BM against MA say good bye to pets. If you get jumped as mage by veela in close quaters say good bye to all you have with you. Not to mention that in MO2 you can even get jumped by more people and fight outnumbered, who would have guessed rigt?

    That guy was bad at the game, because when I played, and I was a pets main, footies could tear down my animals so quickly that it wasn't even funny

    pets with armor take too low dmg they do too much dmg they have too much hp they have unparryable abilities they too fast they have no infulence range and have no stam = too op

    The problem is not the effort to get and lvl them. Cause thats the roleplay for that build. The problem is the effort to lvl all the influence to 100, the masterys to 100, and the skills are worthless.. clunky, target only when 500+ focus, target only close by, and not working properly skills. The problem is this. Campodon tusk trow should work as it works when fighting agains them as mobs, and it doesn't.. etc

    what happens when you breed dominated pets? are the offspring tradable? what was it like in MO1?

      you could not breed anything other than mountable pets like horses, lyks, molvas. the also ruined the only way to "breed" them was the breeding pin but nobody ever used them again since like 2013 per usual SV updates.
      before it was ruined, you could tame or dominate 2 of the same creature and trade them to a NPC in the breeding pin and every few hours they would spawn a random level of that creature for a good few times.

      yeah the breeding pins where cool, but the problem was in MO1 after a few years they patched it to shit and nearly noone used them.

    If pets were so op, everyone would be using them but clearly they aren't. People always complain pets are so op but never use them because of the amount of time input required for them just for them to die in seconds. Look at MO1, death knights are the most OP pet and yet not everyone used it because they didn't want to input the time into getting and leveling animal mag, leveling the pet, getting the carcass for the pet, getting gems for the pet.
    It's simple, pets are OP because of the investment and still not worth the investment which is why pet armor gets added and they still aren't worth it.
    Pets are op in small scale because they are better than people however they are useless and die in seconds of a large fight.
    Arguably, the only people who complain pets are OP are the same people who are killing the game because the only thing they do is grief others and only thrive for PVP or aren't playing how the game is intended to be played.
    The easiest way to fix pets is to decrease time investment, double pet health, half the damage to players, 2x the damage to PVE, and increase natural defenses for PVE. Making pets just be different for gameplay is simple. Pets should be considerably OP for PVE since that's the main reason for getting them while pets should be pretty average in PVP or mostly treated as just a fat tank or defends you if your attacked.
    Make pets OP for PVE, and tanky but weaker in PVP. nobody wants to spend hours getting a pet for it to die in 3 seconds which is usually does.
    Final note is that robmo is the worst CM ever and pushed his shitty agenda for taming and domination rework and pet abilities. These abilities have so many bugs, and never get used besides things like spur. Also makes getting any creature over level 55 extremely difficult or impossible to get increasing time investment and includes none of the traits of MO1 like faster taming or inspect....

    Pet leveling is annoying. Low level pets are usually shit.
    Pets against high level gear are shit (unless you got a rare pet like a white bear).
    Pet game mechanics are shit.
    Playing beastmaster would be some much more fun if there were more control of your pet. E.g. sending pets in a certain direction and not only attack, follow & stay.
    And please, stop that auto attacks are the best way for pets to make damage...

    The games busted. The pets can traverse terrain like it’s not there. Like how can a large animal climb up a mountain at a sprint. Broken game. Stupid devs.

    imo using pets needs to require skill, making it so u cant sick a bear on a mage past two front lines and pull it back when its low. All ai need to move slower when they are low HP, they are wounded not having a headache

      I mean you can't just do that you have to actually be able to tell them to attack so they got close enough and their cursor on them. Pets aren't that hard to kill either, two front lines? wtf are they doing? Pets in bigger battles don't perform very well at all imo. Same reason necromancy zombies isn't strong in big battles (though other spells are). Pets are also very expensive or time consuming to get and level, far more than other gear sets. Maybe with breeding like he mentions in the video but we'd have to see.

    Again, the problem is the AI since it makes it feel unfair. They should make pets not stack up and be easier to hit by melee. Other than that, I think it is normal to have a hard time killing a mage and his pets. Afterall, a pet is a big time commitment from the perspective of obtaining and leveling it up.
    Why should a veela with gear worth 15g be able to take down a mage and their max level pet/pets that might've taken 1-3h to prepare?
    You are a veela with light armor. You are actually on the easy-kill list of pets. Common...
    Again, improve pets AI to make them follow the same movement rules as players and then even if you die to a pet, it shouldn't feel unfair.

      Because it takes no skill to use pets, why should mages get a no stam heat seeking missile irregardless of time investment

      @@elkcharames4000 it doesn't take skill to press the attack button, but it takes skill when it comes to choosing the right fight, position yourself and the pet and know the multitude of node lines and pathfinding bugs around and in houses. Time investment does matter as well. You don't complain the game is unfair if you get killed by a dude in chronite and tungsteel weapon when your in reptile carapace with steel weapon. Risk vs reward.

      @@elkcharames4000 I have an oghmir footfighter and a beastmaster. I killed taur dogs, terror birds and almost killed a molva once. I also lost many pets with the beastmaster. You won't believe the amount of stupid crap that goes on with a pet. From the pet disappearing in buildings, not following commands or getting bugged in houses. Around one out of four fights ends up with the pet dying to different bugs and pathfinding issues. Trues, sometimes, if it's out of combat, the GM actually gives your pet back, but most of the time you lose 3h of afk time. Time that most people that are working jobs don't have.

    beast mastery skill is useless and not even developed. Pets by themselves are very strong, mainly because there is very few if any direct counter play answers to pets. I can only think of the necro spell that slows and just str8 killing it. I believe if pets were balanced to be specifically strong in certain aspects, and not strong in everything, we would see a more variety of pets and builds and they would not be as oppressive overall.

      i also think that the hitboxes are terrible and game breaking at points for certain pets like molvas. that needs to be addressed above all else.
      if the targeting system became a bit more interactive in terms of commanding pets, i think there would be more balance to the gameplay. i personally believe that necro pets should not be able to be commanded via normal pet commands and should require a "command undead" spell to be cast and targeted for effect.
      in terms of regular pets, they could implement arrows that have bait tied to them that will attract your pets to attack the person hit. or even a spell that has the same affect. simply clicking "pet attack" and spamming it until it hits is too easy to basically command a large amount of power around.
      even changing it to where pets can only attack things that you have casted on or attacked recently would bring a little more survivability to standard builds.
      implementing melee skills with AOE dmg will also help against pack pets.

      tame pet and level them is same time as farm granum for steel set and 70% of players cant affort steel so that is expensive

      No one was using bears until armour came out. Maybe it just made pet useful now.
