    Is there numbers?

    • @CantoneseClass101
      @CantoneseClass101  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Are you referring to the numbers at the end of the romanization? They are tones. Since the same pronunciation in different tones has different meanings, that's an essential part of Cantonese language. :) To learn more about Cantonese tones, check out our other video here: th-cam.com/video/XmmktTDoS04/w-d-xo.htmlm18s

      Learn Cantonese with CantoneseClass101.com I tried again it went about as well as the first time. I asked if she could teach me a couple of words, one of the phrases she taught me, was "You look beautiful" but she pronounced the first word differently to how it is pronounced in the video, she says it as "lei".

    • @CantoneseClass101
      @CantoneseClass101  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like that's pretty successful, no? :)
      nei5 and lei5 are interchangeable. Technically, 'nei5' is the standard pronunciation, but nowadays, many people use the 'l' consonant instead of 'n' because of "lazy tongue".
