When I lived in Ventura County, I had many of these very tall Washingtonia palm trees on my property. When the fruit dropped , many seedlings would sprout. We would cut some of the larger seedlings and harvest the hearts of palm! It’s excellent!
Loved this video. Great combo of palmage and natural history. I'm growing these palms as seedlings in a cold frame at 55°N, NE England and they've survived the winter even as 9 month old seedlings. I find them more difficult to grow than robustas but a super palm nonetheless. Cheers Gary
