For those of you who balked at $90k for the 'simple Cub" in 2010, the current base price right now-3/28/2014-is $125k! That includes the very basic analog instrument package-no Garmin anything. Wow! I agree with some of the comments below. I think they could, and should, have made this basic version a lot less expensive. The CubCrafters Sport Cub S2, which is equivalent to this Legend Cub, has an even higher base price of $150k, although you do get better performance. I think the Legend Cub is more like the original Piper J-3, though.
Is this why aviation is unfairly nicknamed the Rich man's sport? Why would a "simplified" Cub with basic instruments cost $90k? I guess it's because some people will pay that, though I wonder how many more they'd sell at a price point of say $50k.
I just bought a real J3 Cub. 1946 model for $32000. I sure can't see paying over three times that. I can take care of a lot of maintenance for the difference in price, and I don't think it will come anywhere near what this guy is trying to justify. 95 to 125 thousand...come on. I have the real Legend Cub, not an overpriced wannabe.
93-94000.00 WTF ! Are you funilley kidding ? Your being funny right ? Antique or otherwise there is not a single piper cub Original worth anything over 50 Grand. Wow and on my first glance up away from my keyboard, and I see I'm not alone with my estimation. He he...
Ridiculous to have a simple Cub for 90K. No reason a Cub could not be manufactured for 30-40K. How is GA ever going to make a come back with 90K plus planes being offered.
Your links don't work. I was denied access when I tried to get more information from your website.
Thanks for letting us know, should be fixed now.
Great looking plane!
