9:15 Our family were probably at the cinema to see Beethoven, or Sister Act, or Fern Gully, or The Mighty Ducks, because we were kids, but ALL these movie posters make me smell popcorn immediately because I loved growing up in the 80's and 90's and walking through cinema lobbies looking at the posters for movies I wouldn't be allowed to watch. Each one's artwork told you what kind of movie it was and the variety was wide.

To know the real reason for the Disney Renaissance, look at the empty space next to Alan Menken , namely where Howard Ashman used to be! Howard was a huge Disney fan when the team were signed on and laid a lot of (uncredited) groundwork for The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin before succumbing to complications due to AIDS!
several of my law and debate/mock trial teachers showed our classes the courtroom scenes from “my cousin vinny” and explained how realistic the movie was. it’s one of those classic substitute teacher movies that is loosely connected to what you’re currently learning like “10 things i hate about you”, “romeo + juliet”, osmosis jones”, “dante’s peak”/“volcano” and “outbreak”. 😂
Despite Fincher's hate for the movie, I still think Alien 3 is a good entry and he did a great job with what he had. It's much better than the 48% score it's got.
...Yes Menkin and Ashman were a HUGE part of the DIsney Renissance. After getting much acclaim for their update of Little Shop of Horrors, they were tapped to do Little Mermaid and until the death of Howard in 1991, they were unstoppable.
You forgot to mention the resurgence of Fatal Attraction inspired Psycological thrillers \obsession movies. Starting with the January release of The Hand That Rocks The Cradle, and continued with Basic Instinct, The Vanishing, Unlawful Entry, and Single White Female. All of which where huge hits.
I'd love for the first segment to be longer. I know you can't talk about all the movies but I feel like skipping over movies like Basic Instinct, Dracula, A Few Good Men or Unforgoven - some of which won Oscars - isn't that great.
I won’t lie homie got me good with that Alien 3 bait and switch. I was literally in the middle of saying out loud to myself “wtf is this dude talking about Alien 3 is the best of the trilogy???” And then it hit lolol got me good
If I have to pick a movie, it's probably Lethal Weapon 3 I guess. I saw most of these in the cinema, but they are all ultimately a bit average unfortunately. hmm. looking through the box office for the year, there are a LOT of movies that performed fairly averagely that most would consider big or influential movies. Movies that are not even in the top 20. Just to name a few: 20 A few good men 21 Father of the Bride 28 Hook 34 JFK 35 Single White Female Perhaps there was more variety at this time? So the box office is more spread out because of individual tastes? Maybe it's because Hollywood is transitioning from movie star to franchise? Probably both with even more factors I've not considered.
Pretty good year. Compared to today it's friggin epic: Twin Peaks Firewalk Memoirs of an Invisible Man Dracula Glengarry Wayne's World Basic Instinct The Player Bad Lieutenant Toys Bob Roberts
If anything, Alien3 shows just how much sheer talent David Fincher had. Despite an absolute clusterfuck of a production, he still managed to shoot a film which was decent, with its own clear themes and identity, plus excellent acting and cinematography. Most first-time movie directors would have turned in a total flaming dumpster fire, if forced to shoot it like Fincher was.
2:48 I wish the trend would die lol it was good with robin williams but now we have lots of actors just phoning it in with their voice acting. I think Beyoncé was one of the WORST ones because she isn’t even an actor, it’s good to diversify, but sometimes you need to stay in your own lane. 15:25 fuck yes Sailor Moon!!!!

FERN GULLY!
Love this series.
It’s not necessary to mention rotten tomatoes - they’ll just think they’re people if you let them up on the couch.

10:48 harold ashman deserves his own comment for being the main architect of the disney renaissance.
Amazing video! This channel is criminally undersubscribed.

Unforgiven is one of my favorite films.
You should bring these back!

And don't forget Goof Troop. And in fact Batman The Animated Series and Goof Troop both premiered on the same day. September 5th 1992.
You have great content
Not gonna lie. You got me with the Alien 3 opener. 😂
The awards section made me realize how much these ceremonies were (are) about who knows who.
Class series, this will explode the channel I’m sure

Hahah gottem!
Damn I paused right there to come post my grudge with that opinion....lol guess I should finish the video first
It wasn’t both their cousin in My Cousin Vinny. Pesci was only the Karate Kid’s cousin in the movie 😉
Bram Stoker’s Dracula & Batman Returns 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

0:54 Shane Black is in no way influenced by Tarantino lol
Favorite by far Peter Jackson's Dead Alive.
I love this series!

Can. 'Cannes' is pronounced 'can'. Important for a film channel.
05:42; Blank Check later this year.
My favourite Romantic Movie of 1992 is also another great directorial debut which is Baz Luhrmann’s Strictly Ballroom
You forgot Sneakers
