I’m waiting for 1996. The year I graduated and managed to find a job as an international student on an American Summercamp. Though I came out of it with a very difficult to manage sleeping disorder, it’s still one of my most memorable summers 🥰
Also thanks to all 4 of my lovely coworkers. The 2 fellow international dishwashers (mainly lol) and our 2 American cooks 🤗
We gave and we got back. I wanted to go the year after that but was glad I couldn’t due to university. They had decided to suddenly hire 5 in a new modern kitchen (we had old stuff, no sprayers, sinks that drained into a tub 🛀 in the basement which overflowed if you forgot to clean out the sift-thingy. Which meant a flooded basement to mop lol.) It was nothing but trouble. Bickering, slow blabla. No, I’m good with my memories despite getting out of it with my sickness. ❤️

I was 17, a junior in high school. My parents had divorced the year before. I was big into The Doors and Stephen King. Making videos with friends on a VHS recorder. Plus Nirvana and Red Hot Chili Peppers, and MTV. This is when MTV played videos all the time. That is just a few things I enjoyed that year. What a time to be alive.
    The commercials were awesome.

1992 was huge for American basketball: The Dream Team, Jordan's shrug game, Magic's last all-star game, Bird's epic final triple-double, Rodman's 1530 rebounds, Pat Riley's Knicks vs Phil Jackson's Bulls rivalry begins, Laettner's perfect game w/ iconic buzzer beater, etc... Not to mention Michael Jackson's "Jam" music video.
It was also a great year for dialogue in Hollywood films w/ the releases of Quentin Tarantino's "Reservoir Dogs", Aaron Sorkin's "A Few Good Men", & David Mamet's "Glengarry Glen Ross".

1992 - 24, young, crazy, in a lot of debt, a young family with a child. But was that all a million miles ago. When people ask if I'd ever go back in time, I just say no. I have TH-cam to relive any memories I want and no debt, adult kids, and the path I could only dream of back in those days. But the Chicken Tonight commercial was fun to relive again.

@@Wi-Fi-El It was very overrated. in 92 I was 13, just imagine being a teenager with almost no cable tv to speak of, basically no internet (we had bbses, but they were slow and you were considered a genius if you could access them), no video games, no unlimited long distance (even if your friend lived a few towns over, calling them could cost 20 bucks)... Like a road trip, you had maybe a walkman to keep you occupied if you were lucky. We absolutely wanted summer to end just to have something to do again. Growing up in the 90s was painfully unbelievably boring most of the time.
Also, there was a lot more blatant racism and homophobia. Remember: this was the tail end of the d&d satanic panic era. Rock music caused you to worship the devil. My step-mom threw away all of my magic the gathering cards because "pretending to do magic is devil worship".

For the most of 92, I was a one year old. October I turned two. So, of course, I most likely don't remember anything, until I turned 7 or so.
What automatically drew me to comment on this 1992 episode, was my recollection of junior year of high school, when in history class, were asked to make a slide show of a big event in history. As a naive high schooler in the mid 2000s, I chose the LA Riots as my subject. I went in to a deep, deep dive of the police brutality, riots, truck driver(s), LA fires, and so on. In my Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, I decided to add two songs, one by sublime and one by rage against the machine. During my presentation at school, I didn't realize that the RATM song had the F word in it and I was send to in school suspension. But what I learned through my education of this lesson, of king (pulled over march 3 1991), the 3/4 police officers being acquitted, the city being on fire (April 29 1992 for a week) was that racial tensions in this country erupted then, but still erupt today. In my mid 30s now, I realize that the early 1990s still has homework for the 2020s to learn from.

Los Angeles native here and I grew up in West Los Angeles throughout the 80s and 90s. Even though the area I lived in was relatively untouched by the riots, I do remember that the smoke from all the fires was so heavy that in school we were banned from running and other activities during lunch and recess. A close friend of my father who owned a camera store had lost his original location due to it being burned down during the riots. It was a location that I had frequently visited with my father in the 80s when he was buying equipment as a professional photographer for National Geographic.

My favorite movies of 1992 are Lethal Weapon 3, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Mo' Money, Bebe's Kids, Aladdin, and Batman Returns. Summer Olympics games was the best and Jay Leno took over the Tonight Show as the new host after Johnny Carson left. Cartoon Network was launched and I enjoy watching old cartoon shows in one network including The Jetsons, The Centurions , G-force and Dragonball Z. Bill Clinton won the Presidential Election by defeating George H.W. Bush and I was 8 years old and happy about it. That car was a hand me down from my folks. It was super easy to drive too. Had a shitty AC, but it ran well. I remember driving that car everywhere. The 1st concert I drove the car too was The Cult. I think I drove to about 6 other concerts that year I had my van. Sadly, Japan was totaled when I was slammed into at a traffic light. The entire rear portion of the car was crunched. I was only 6 years old but the years from 92 to 96 are some of my fondest of my childhood. The early 90s were such an awesome time to be a child

I remember one time me and my brother was reading the National Enquirer and we got the biggest laugh because according to the National Enquirer a woman was sueing the US Air Force because an F-16 fighter jet flew too low and caused her silicone breast implant to explode.
