The reason accent is important for me because I am reminded that this song wrote by Mr. McCarthy, Listowel, Co. Kerry was about the 1919-21 war of Independence fought against the Black & Tans, etc. throughout all the island of Ireland.

IE The victims of conflict, & the situations they had to deal with, don't get heard much. Here, in this song, they do. In a most intimate way. I'd say, just listen.
