    Terrific video from an intelligent source. Appreciated you mentioning Consumer Reports as an important guide to purchasing infant seats and strollers. That was the first place I checked when starting my research on these items. Thank you for this video.

    OMG Ive been watching your vids and theyre sooo helpful and easy to understand.
    Im also huge fan of desitin Maximum strength. And i apply it preventively too, many friends say its a bit overkill but its what my own mom told me to do!
    Funny question though, is desitin like, older? I mean, im from the late 90s, and as I said its what my mom got me, but i dont know if it came out in the 90s or if its been used on older generations. Just curious, haha.
    Great content, anyway! U got a new subscriber

      Thank you so much for watching! 🤍According to google it’s been around since way before the 90’s (1920’s I found 🤯) so totally makes sense- fellow 90’s baby! 🙋‍♀️😂

      @@PassableParent Wait so child of the 90s too? Lol. Yup, mom tells me that back then there was only the purple desitin and i even remember seing a rogue tube under the bathroom cabbinet well into my childhood cause we used it for burns cuts heat rash etc.
      Its good for everything skin related! Heck even with my oldest LO thats already P-trained We struggle a bit sometimes with propper wiping and if we start seeing a bit red, its desitin to the rescue hahaha.

    It sounds like play gyms and activity centers are both a must, but what would you nix between baby bouncers, rockers, swings? Is there a hybrid one you think is best? Trying not to have my home overrun!

    • @PassableParent
      @PassableParent  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Great Question! I would avoid jumpers/bouncers that have baby in a standing position (many times you see these hanging in door ways,etc) because as a pediatric nurse we tend to see a lot of issues with babies hips and delayed walking with these devices. The same goes for walkers that baby sits in with wheels on the bottom- they can be very dangerous and we see a lot of accidents with them and they also delay walking due to baby’s foot and hip placement.
      Again everything in moderation - I know how great many of these devices can be for us parents to utilize- just try to set those timers- I also totally understand how much fun babies have in some of these devices- it’s just important to limit their time in them!
      If I was making another baby registry today:
      I would include ONE swing/bouncer/rocker like this- my favorite is the one by mamaroo because my son loved the motion of it and found it very soothing! I also liked the baby bjorn- but you don’t *need* both- I would choose only one of these if trying to keep all of these devices to a minimum:
      amzn.to/3t00Dhk
      amzn.to/3wVd2Ws
      I would also include an activity center like this one (but if you want to hold off on getting some things before you need them you won’t need this until your baby is at least 4 months old and able to comfortably hold their head up on their own in a seated position- many times this is closer to 6 months):
      amzn.to/3Gogj3m
      And of course I love the play gyms and think they are so important for that Floor/tummy time for your baby! There are many out there - lovery is my favorite because it comes with a book for parents with some great developmental activites to do with your baby I also make other videos for each age range of important activities to help enhance your baby’s development and milestones to expect for your baby! If you decide to go with a different brand or type just look for something that isn’t too crazy- not a lot of electronic components and high contrast colors like black and white are great for baby’s developing brain!
      amzn.to/3N0i5u7
      I hope this helped answer your question! I would stick to three things- play gym, activity center and ONE “swing/bouncer/rocker” my favorites are either mamaroo or babybjorn! Just choose one from that category!
      And I wish you the best of luck on the arrival of your new baby- so exciting! 🤍

    Very useful things that we all need, however I would say the bouncers are not really a must and on the market there are many other options budget friendly in comparison to some luxury/brand items in the video.

    • @PassableParent

      Thank you so much for watching and for your feedback on this video- I love hearing from viewers and getting your feedback! I agree there are other options out there on the market that may be more budget friendly for some of these products- these are just products I personally have used and have recommended to friends and family so that is why I am comfortable to recommend them on this platform to others! If you have any specific brands you love and have had good experiences with please feel free to comment them below and maybe I can test them out for future videos/ recommendations! 😊

    Way too many luxury and nice to have items on this list to call it "essentials" I feel so bad for any new parents watching this and thinking they have to spends this much money to have a safe baby because a nurse said they were must haves.

    • @PassableParent
      @PassableParent  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Thank you for your feedback Maureen! Every Moms opinion definitely varies of what are “must have items”! I try to provide reasons behind why I suggest certain items based on child development but I also can appreciate and understand the major expenses associated with having a new baby and try to offer alternatives and “DIY” ideas of all price ranges as long as they meet safety standards in my videos. Taking your feedback into consideration I think a great future video idea could be a more minimal or a paired down video of newborn items to cover more Mama’s budgets. Thank you again for taking the time to comment and your suggestions!
