Hi! Did you find your aversion went after pregnancy? Did you experience it with your newborn? I'm 8 months and feeling a lot of aversion and praying it goes after I give birth , otherwise i dont think i could handle breastfeeding.

Yes - for me it went away immediately post partum! I went through the period of “figuring breastfeeding out” with my new baby & getting into our own rhythm with it but the aversion was totally gone! I’m sorry you are having aversions I know how uncomfortable it is! Hang in there ❤️🫶 & best of luck with your new baby!

And i apply it preventively too, many friends say its a bit overkill but its what my own mom told me to do! Funny question though, is desitin like, older? I mean, im from the late 90s, and as I said its what my mom got me, but i dont know if it came out in the 90s or if its been used on older generations. Just curious, haha. Great content, anyway! Yup, mom tells me that back then there was only the purple desitin and i even remember seing a rogue tube under the bathroom cabbinet well into my childhood cause we used it for burns cuts heat rash etc. Its good for everything skin related! Heck even with my oldest LO thats already P-trained We struggle a bit sometimes with propper wiping and if we start seeing a bit red, its desitin to the rescue hahaha.

There is no scientific evidence that music is harmful to babies other than if it is played too loudly or inappropriate for a young child! That’s wonderful he is clapping his hands now!!🤍 try to create opportunities for him to practice some of these other gestures by showing him you using them yourself! Sometimes as parents we are so good and meeting our children’s needs that the opportunity to learn and use some of these just hasn’t come up yet! And if you have any concerns always check in with your pediatrican at your next visit and they can either relieve them or point you in the direction of someone who can help 🤍🤍

@@katiewilson6832 every baby is different & their development path also is unique to them! Some baby’s take a bit longer and that’s OK🤍 many times these skills can build and there will be a burst or explosion of new skills! There are also wonderful occupational and speech therapists out there who can help you with new tips and to make sure he is getting everything he needs! I recommend asking your pediatrican for referrals or searching for some local ones. There are programs as well like “early intervention” that many times are covered to low cost (pediatrican can refer to them) who can come to your home and do a private evaluation where they can give you recommendations 🤍 I know it’s easy to feel a bit defeated sometimes as parents but know that you are doing an amazing job & that you are the best teacher and advocate for your baby!! 🤍🤍

If you ever get concerned you can always ask your pediatrican or trusted health care provider and they should be able to help you or alleviate any concerns you have! Lots of language explosion happens at your baby’s age and you should continue to see their vocabulary expand over the coming months 🤍 hope this was helpful!

She probably loves this- that’s great she can hear your humming and it will help her recognize your voice when she is born! I know two kids that have had a tablet or phone in their laps since about 6 months old, now at age 3 and 5 one has a tablet and the other has a laptop. Something that really stands out about them is that when someone greets them or talks to them they just stare back with no response. Knowing to anticipate it is the most helpful thing. I have so many people around me who keep questioning whether I feed my baby enough. I know I feed him enough. He has plenty of wet nappies, he's visibly gaining weight, and he looks satisfied after feeds. But, especially at the beginning (first week), I was starting to doubt myself. During my hospital stay, I was advised by midwives to top up with formula because my baby was feeding on and off and being fussy for over 2 hours one night and I couldn't figure out what was going on. Looking back, I think I was just struggling to latch him on properly that time, but it really made me doubt myself. Even now, when people qiestion whether he's eaten properly or when he cluster feeds at night, I don't doubt my supply. I try to ignore what people say and preserve through the sleeplessness. I definitely would have been much more stressed out if I didn't know about cluster feeds.

I wish the nipple wasn’t blurred… there is multiple videos on here with real mama breasts… 😢 I used a straight ruler and it was 1/2 inch so roughly 13mm. Is this a good way to measure if you do t have a circular measuring device? Also silicone inserts or silicone flanges? I have the motif Luna. ❤

I know I’m so sorry about the blurred nipples- I’ve been trying to file appeals with TH-cam but they keep denying my requests even though my content is educational 😫🤦‍♀️ it is really disappointing they are not supportive of this type of content. Using a straight ruler I find more challenging but as long as you follow these rules it is a way to find your size: Measure across the base of your nipple, where your nipple meets the areola. Do not measure your areola, just the width of your nipple. Add 4mm to your measurement! If you can find a properly fitting silicone flange I prefer that to an insert! If the size of the flange is right it will give you the best milk output, sometimes with the inserts there can still be air leakage! Best of luck to you on your breastfeeding journey - hope this helps! 💗💗

@@PassableParent Thank you for your response. 🥰🩷💜 I bought a 16 mm flange insert. Nipple diameter is 12.7 (I’m small!) The Motif Luna flanges are not removable on the top and there is no manufacturer that makes a full flange top silicone for the Luna. Sad bc I rather that as well. So only inserts. I will lubricate before use. Any pump brands you recommend as the best? Maybe I need to switch? I have searched the internet and cannot find the answer to why 4mm needs to be added? Can you provide insight as to why? Thank you for your help! It is hard to find direct answers online. 🩷💜

I know how confusing it can be! Most Mothers nipples & flange sizes are NOT the size the manufacturer gives for free with the pumps! As someone who used the wrong flange size with my first baby for quite some time I can tell you how much better it feels and better output once you figure this out😊 The reasoning behind adding 4mm is because your nipple size expands when it is pulled into the pump by the pump vacuum and this is to account for that! But unfortunately it’s not an exact science because while we don’t want your nipple being pinched at all by the pump (this is bad for your comfort and milk output) it’s also not good for anything but the nipple to be getting pulled into the pump too! This is why I love my little diameter circular ruler trick😅but I hope this helps give you an answer behind the 4mm! My personal favorite pump is the spectra - I have the S1 pump but the S2 is exactly the same- the difference between the models is that the s1 has a battery powered option where as the S2 does not and must always be plugged into an outlet. I did have to pay a bit extra for the S1 because insurance only fully covered the S2! It is by far my favorite pump though. I have tried medela etc myself but never the motif Luna! There are all the way down to size 13mm breast flanges on Amazon and inserts that I’ll attach links to here to help you but I see what you mean - they don’t say compatible with the Luna! It might be a trial and error for you since you really just want the nipple being pulled into the breast pump- not too tight to pinch the nipple but not too big that it’s pulling in anything else for the best milk output! I have a few ideas for you though that might help and not cost you a bunch: 1. The first- did you get the Luna through insurance? Every woman in the USA is entitled to a free insurance covered breast pump- if you have insurance and are in the USA then I will attach a link for you to pick one (I suggest the spectra because it’s my favorite and they have all the way down to 13mm flanges for it if you decide you don’t like the Luna pump with the inserts!) 2.My other idea is that if you’ve already gotten the Luna through insurance to try purchasing a medela hand pump. They have all the way down to 13mm flanges in Medela and the hand pump won’t cost you as much while you try to figure out your correct sizing. If you try this and it feels so much better with better milk output then you can think about paying for an electric that has your correct flange size! Link to get your free insurance covered breast pump (I personally used them twice for each of my babys and they were fast and easy to work with!): milknmamasbaby.com/ Smaller down to 13mm silicone inserts incase the 16mm insert still feels too large and is pulling in more than your nipple: amzn.to/3YxIiXr Smaller down to 13mm FLANGE compatible with spectra, medela, etc: amzn.to/3qzuDCD Medela hand pump to try out correct size flanges and see if you like them more than insert before committing to a whole new pump: amzn.to/3KGah1r Hope this helps💓💓
