I’ve re wrote my resume and made it more customer service based and added in some basic technical knowledge and that I’m working towards my Comptia A+ to start at Help desk and even added in a small summary I’m not sure it’s enough to get called back, but I can handle stress and angry customers well since I learned how to talk to people calmly and helped customers who were irritated At a job I had. I’m well skilled in Customer service I just don’t think it’s enough I’m from NYC a lot of the almost 100 jobs I applied to ask for a lot that could take me months to learn. Once I get my Comptia I’ll apply with it too but right now I’m just applying while I study it’s tough breaking in honestly.

I totally get it. It is super frustrating to get rejected constantly. I'm not sure what you resume looks like, but make sure you have some project work in there as well. That way you can have talking points whenever your future employer asks about your experience/project work. I'm positive you'll get in! Once you get your foot in-the-door, finding other IT jobs will be much easier. You got this :)

@@ngo2go it’s super frustrating but it’s becoming easier because I apply to any and everything even if I know I’m not qualified. Would building a gaming PC somewhat count as experience or buying an old PC and tinkering with it ? I’m not sure how to get the experience.

I would say building a gaming pc or any pc in general would help your understanding of computers (which can help you get the A+ cert). Sadly this does not count as professional experience; you won't get professional experience until you start working at a helpdesk job or anything like that. So if you want to get your first IT job, I would recommend having projects on your resume. Building a PC counts as a project or creating a home network lab with routers and switches would count or building a S2S VPN on AWS counts as a project as well. After you completed those projects, try to understand it fully (Why am I building this lab? What is the outcome of building the lab? etc.) Hope this helps!

Thank you for letting me know! I'll be making adjustments to future videos to make sure the quality gets better and better (starting with the green screen) ;)
