The airbag cover has been sagging on my 147 GTA ever since I bought her 7 years ago. Now I'm fixing her up to sell I find this video now?!!! Doh! Thank you for this video.
Happy to Help! I found these clips tend to go bad quicker in warmer weather, but thankfully they are easy to replace once you've seen it done. And makes the dashboard look lots better when the panel isn't loose! :)
HAHA, I just got a dislike on this video today.. I find this hilarious someone felt so strongly about fixing their Alfa Romeo airbag cover, they had to dislike the video? See, this goes to show that you can't please everyone, even if you're helping in saving them cash.
You could use a two part glue. I'm not sure what it is called in italian. resin? Potresti usare una colla in due parti. Non so come si chiama in italiano. resina?
So,I just need tu pull that things out of the holes😁 and set them on the cover, then push them back in their holes? BTW, thank you for your video,I can't sleep just because of this, now in Macedonia is 1:23am,not so late, but I'll have to go in my garage now. If I fucked up,will make harikiri,or whatever is called in English... Cheers my friend 🍻 and much straighter love to you😘
HAHA, I'm very happy to help! and yes, those parts just slip right back in if you have unbroken clips. the problem is, Fiat/Alfa Romeo made them very weak. Theyre designed to break in case of an accident which deploys an airbag, but seem to weaken when the car gets hot over the years.
Thank you very much! And yes, these clips seem to break very easily after they age! If I had been touching/removing the airbag, yes, I would have disconnected the battery, but replacing the cover doesn't require touching the bag unit, I just had the key off and popped the cover back on :)
HAHA, I still have TONS to do on the Alfa! I stripped the interior (in other videos - in my Alfa Playlist). It was FILTHY and smelly. It also needs some additional work besides the interior. It is in the shop at the moment getting a new shift linkage and alignment after a clunk is fixed in the front. (This requires a lift to do in a reasonable amount of time.). However I will go over the shift linkage and how it broke/wore out as well as other fixes that make the car look much better. Needs wheels, emblems, windscreen, mirrors, etc.. haha
Hello, If you mean the clips, I bought mine from the Fiat dealership. They cost around €12 if I remember correctly. They’re a commonly replaced part, so they should know the part well. I remember I showed the part receipt at the beginning of the video, if you’re needing the exact part number. I DID find cheaper ones on Ebay, but I wasn't certain if they would be any better than the original ones that only lasted 10 years. Ah, no. It was a great car to rescue and bring to shiny, but I bought it literally weeks before we found out we were having a baby, I was having supreme difficulty fitting a baby seat in it and traded it for a Jeep Grand Cherokee with super low miles. I have a few interior repair videos still but haven't posted much with how busy things got. I prefer affording one modern car insurance policy at a time, so I picked up a car I can insure MUCH cheaper, the 1993 Suzuki Cappuccino. All part of being a car nut and family guy hehe
I was thinking the ones from China, on ebay might not be as good quality, BUT it seems the originals weren't great either! :P They're made to break under load, but after time, they just seem to fail so easily. Though when these are broken, it isn't a safety issue that I can tell, as the cover still has the strap to keep it from falling, but also keeps it from flying in your face when airbags deploy, the wonky cover looks awful! haha

Happy to help!! And yeah, those quick-release snaps are a bit too quick it seems.
Thankyou! I purchased the clips and followed your instructions. That was as easy as it was in you video to do and just as quick!! Thanks so much 😀

It’s the same on my new GT!! Did you disconnect the battery beforehand? Great video!
Mines all fixed, cheers buddy!!

If you do anymore Alfa repairs I’d love to see them, yeah I disconnected the battery just in case as it made me nervous haha, subscribed!

have to do that in mine 👌
The clips were surprisingly easy to replace. it was harder to get the camera angle than redoing the clips haha
where did you buy this part ? Can you provide link please :)

Have you still got the GT?

Very helpful - I've hopefully found some replacements on ebay by searching for part nr. 71713084.
