Perfect example of the iceberg effect. Med school has its tip of the iceberg moments which happens to be the only part shown on social media but the weeks of no sleep, the times of missing out on important family/friends events, the heartbreak, disappointment, and depression from not doing well on exams, not matching into your chosen program, and the feeling of doubt are never mentioned. Med school is a beautiful experience but it must be know that is it a major sacrifice and not many are made for it.
Thanks to crap like this the attrition rate is going up. My school has a good mix of millennials and gen z’s and of course the ones dropping out like flies are the gen z kids who watched too much greys anatomy and videos like this and think everything is fun and games. Then you see them freaking out on the group chat or crying because its too much for them to handle.
If you’re even remotely a savage and hard work feels good to you, the competition is fading. Yes it’s a lot of work, there were plenty of times when I felt like despite studying all day and not procrastinating, I would not be able to get through all the slides/materials. Somehow you always find a way and if not, just do your best. It’s very likely the way you feel, your classmates are most likely having the same emotions.

95% is boring lectures -> studying -> get grilled during clinical rotations -> graduate
this feels so wholesome
Im not in med school, trying to go to dental school. But ik damn well med school life aint like this most of the time💀😂. Ik med students sacrifice their social life and dedicate their lives to earning that doctor title.
You 're an inspiration!
So this is how a first world med school looks like * sigh *

Here in Egypt we barely have Light microscopes lol
This stuff actually gets me hyped to go to med school
We didn't have any of this isht in my Uni when I did medicine. Well, they don't have this stuff now either but that is besides the point.
My aunt went to med school and she said it was extremely hard and tiring but she says it’s worth it as she gets to help people
Umm... jealous looking at the facilities now🌚🌚 we don't have much of simulation models😅
anything is better than nothing! sims still will never fully prepare you for the real thing
@@NDMD that's true! 🙌 And early clinical exposures are doing their job in that case!!
This time will Surely come in my life....I will do my best to see this day once ❣️❣️🤞
all fun and games until you have a CNS final in less than 2 days :)
Honestly I can only dream of learning medicine this way, back where I come from we learn on patients or we don't at all! Be grateful for what you have, yes med school is hell but having the opportunity to do it right is so precious.
when I see those activities in medicine I wanna study medicine then I remember I need math
LMAO! Same. 😂 I always hated math.
@@AFVfan1 I have always loved math ( that is I always wanted to understand it) but was not given a good education when I was a kid and have always been behind.
That girl's smile at last 🤌
Question, how were you allowed to record any of this? We most definitely aren't allowed to use our phones other than in tutorial sessions, which are in essence worksheets with a lecturer to help take us through them
They're abroad, its obvious
Wow, that was GREAT!!!
Lmfao this is cute. Sure wasn’t like this for me.
Secretly rooting for you.
If you see this, know u are strong and loved! Jesus loves u no matter what ur past looks like. Jesus loves u and I do too. Have a great day :))
I'm an ER nurse in NYC.
This has to be the greatest example of false advertising I've seen since the "nurse appreciation day"
Lmao
So you went to medical school I guess? You just said you were a nurse. How is you know what medical school is like?
@@zen_mindset1 I went to a university hospital's accelerated nursing program. Very rigorous, and a shared space with their medical school.
Nearly all of the marketing and atmospheric expectations do not lead you to believe the reality of the educational experience nor the career path haha.
Lol wait till he is studying for the USMLEs… won’t be so fun then

The amount of comments made me wondered if people actually studied medical because it's their passion or because of parent's wish
Bullshit. This is like 0.1% of the happy time. If you can sit on a chair for 5-12 hours for 4 months straight then go to medical school. You'll fear getting a dvt but hey it's med school
Isn’t that what people in most jobs do for decades ?
@@jzhvaeduh well, this has nothing to do with the video but I just want to say that you look beautiful. Have a lovely day 🌹
@@melancholiccatharsis9914 thank u!
@@jzhvaeduh you're welcome
@@jzhvaeduh no, he didnt describe it well.
Thank you for showing the fun side of it too
My first two years of med school have absolutely nothing like this… don’t believe it for one second. The only thing that matters during your pre-clinical years is passing your block exams. Which means you are studying 99% of the time, the other 1% is whatever this shit is in this video
I’m traumatized here I’m second year is it gonna be more fun in clinical years ? 🥲
Next year is gonna be my first clinical year
Perfect example of the iceberg effect.
I feel like everyone talks about horrible med school is and as a person who’s planning on going down that path, I’m terrified and having second thoughts. So thank you so much for making it seem not all so bad.
Most people who talk about how horrible med school is are likely just venting. I tend to complain about my medical training to friends and family about the hard parts so they most likely think med school is a drag lmao. Most med students I personally know are very passionate about medicine at the end of the day and only trashtalk to vent their frustrations.
Wishing you all the best if you plan on going down that path!
@@arkonem2933 aww thanks I feel a ton better now
I call bull
Why do they all make it look so fun and interesting 😂😂😂
There’s no smiling in med school
wish nothing but success for all the med students here ☺️
How does one under such an extensive and comprehensive subject still manage spare time to make Tik tok edits? Makes me question the amount of dedication you are allocating to your career profession.
As a med student::
My day strts at 5am-----5 to 7 gym
8am to 9am 1st lecture
9 to 1pm hospital postings
2 to 5pm again lectures
5to 8pm hospital postings again
9pm to 12:30am around study
Sleep and repeat
Edit: i left gym ,I'm depressed
Hang in there
Idk why by that edited part made me rofl😂
Ik I should not laugh at someone's depression but I lost it😄
Like the comment was radiating so much positive vive and all of a sudden it just went all negative within 6 months 😆😂😅😐😑
@@random_person_on_internet means you suck at empathy
@@Douglas77755 yeah because I am dealing with severe depression and anxiety for years because of my pathetic genetic disorder that is going to kill me soon.
So don't talk rubbish and go take some comprehension classes

Such bollocks lol

Glad it looks like that cause I’ll be heading there soon.
Ha.Ha.
I suffered from panic attacks, anxiety in past 2,3 months.. on anti depressants since last 2 weeks. I guess that's enough to tell you guys how much fun it is ;)
Are you an Indian med student? If yes, then what year and clg are you in? Neet aspirant here.... Just curious
Cool. Nice to see. I could dig more of this.
Thats why its 'moments' ...keep it up medical students!!! You are the future docs of this world ❣
